The waters getting warm
So you might as well swim
My world's on fire how about yours
That's the way I like it and I never get bored
---
A/N: I've made a family tree >:)
A pocket watch in someone's hand opened, revealing 5:30 as the time as thunder was heard.
As it moved by a minute, the rabbit looked up to see a red, blue, yellow, and green distortion appearing in the sky, scaring it away as someone with golden brown eyes soon came out of it and landed in the middle of the ruins.
''Right on time,'' Wu spoke.
''What?'' Mystery dude asked, turning to see the old man, who was holding a pocket watch, in a meditating position.
''Long time, no see.'' Old-Tea Obsessed Man replied.
''Master Wu? You look...old. As if your best days have passed. Not unlike your monastery.'' The Mystery Man told him.
Wu closed the pocket watch and hid it in his beard. ''I still have plenty of days left.'' He said, standing up as the mysterious stranger moved a hand behind his back. ''Shall we finish what we started? I've been waiting decades.''
''Really?'' The dude asked. ''It doesn't feel that long to me.''
''This ends now,'' Wu told him.
---
''This ends now, Samukai,'' Jay said, holding up the head of Samukai's mannequin. ''Nope, pretending this is the actual Samukai doesn't make cleaning up the museum any more interesting. This is so lame. We're Ninja, not janitors.'' Ginja told the others.
The Green Bean and Weather Boy passed by, with Lloyd wheeling Chen's mannequin while Morro wheeled his mannequin of himself.
''Come on, Jay. We're all kind of responsible for the damage to the museum. After all, if we hadn't had that massive battle on the Day of the Departed, this place would still be in one piece.'' Mint Fresh told him.
''Yeah, and whose fault is that, Cole?'' Jay asked the Earth Ninja.
''Are we going to blame him for something that wasn't all his fault?'' (Y/n) asked, walking into the side room.
The Lightning Ninja opened his mouth to argue, but he was silent. Cole looked at Yang's portrait, then at (Y/n). He placed the portrait in a nearby wheelbarrow.
Jaybird put Samukai's head in a box, then picked the box up. ''How high can you count?''
Cake Devourer grabbed the handles of the wheelbarrow, letting go when his hands glowed orange.
''Eh, speaking of which, you're still not used to having your old, non-ghost hands back?'' Ginja asked, taking the box with him.
The Master of Cake's arms turned to normal and he started cleaning up the small mess he made. ''Oh, I'm working on it.''
(Y/n) grabbed a box, and Remo slithered onto it and curled up, almost instantly falling asleep. ''He must be exhausted.'' Vitamin C said.
The two caught up to Jay as they walked into the main part of the museum with Water Lily struggling to carry a box.
''This is exhausting,'' Nya told the others, putting the box dow to straighten her back, laying her head on the box. ''If I could go back in time, I'd tell Dr Saunders we were too busy to help.''
Zane walked past, pulling a cart with the Cryptor mannequin. ''Nya, you may recall that the rest of us once time-travelled. It can have devastating effects, and should not be used lightly. Certainly not to get out of labour.''
''It's just an expression, Zane,'' Nya replied and walked over to Kai.
Morro watched the Fire Ninja from afar. (Y/n) joined Weather Boy, standing beside him.
''Someone's got a crush~'' Vitamin C teased. Weather Boy turned to her, with a slightly annoyed face.
''I do not,'' Morro replied, crossing his arms and turning his gaze to Burnt Toaster.
''Don't deny it, it's clear to see.'' (Y/n) told him. Weather Boy glanced at her and huffed.
''(Y/n),'' Morro said, before lowering his voice to a whisper. ''I love you and all, and I'm sure the others do too, but there's no way in Ninjago I'm in love with Kai.''
''Guys, look what I found!'' Cole told the others. Weather Boy looked relieved, and the two joined the others in looking at a massive portrait.
''Uh, isn't that Garmadon?'' Ginja asked, walking forward to point at the person in the picture.
''It is,'' Cole replied and turned to Green Bean, who was walking towards them. ''Lloyd, that's your dad.''
''And there's Master Wu,'' Kai said, pointing at him.
''He looks so...young,'' Nya replied.
''Look at them, my father and my uncle, Ninjago's two greatest Elemental Masters. I wonder if I'll ever live up to their legacy.'' Green Bean told the others.
''First Kai and Nya, now Lloyd. It's family picture day at the museum.'' The Lightning Ninja said, putting his hand on Lloyd's back.
''Does anyone recognize this battle?'' Cake Devourer questioned. (Y/n) and Morro shook their heads.
''Pixal, analyse,'' Zane spoke, walking forward.
''Facial contour mapping indicates this scene takes place forty years ago during the Serpentine Wars,'' Pixal informed.
''During the Serpentine Wars? But Ninjago was at peace. Who would they be fighting?'' Cole asked.
Sander walked up to them with a tray of drinks. ''Refreshing time. Hot, sweaty work deserves a cool drink.''
Kai took a cup. ''Ah, thanks, Dr Saunders.'' He told the old man. The ninja each took a cup, with Cole handing one to Nya while (Y/n) blankly stared at the contents of her cup, and the ninja started drinking.
''Enjoy the pickled beet tea,'' Saunders told them, making the ninja spit their drinks out in disgust.
''Uh...'' Cole said, ''accidentally'' dropping his cup. ''Oops! Hehe. New hands. So clumsy.'' He said, while (Y/n) did the same.
Jay and Morro looked at them with disappointment, before finishing their drinks.
Lloyd put his cup back on the tray. ''What's this painting?'' He questioned, pointing to it.
''Oh, this? Nothing. Minor skirmish. No historical significance. That is why I don't hang it in the main gallery.'' Boomer replied dismissively.
''It looks pretty significant to me. This thing is huge.'' Jay told him, placing his cup back on the tray.
''Yes, a huge myth. The folklores.'' Dr Saunders said.
''Even if it is a myth, who are these men Masters Wu and Garmadon are supposed to be fighting?'' Frosty the Ice Ninja questioned. ''I have no data on them.''
Sander sighed. ''There is a legend.'' He said, placing the tray on a nearby box. ''Twin brothers called the Hands of Time.''
''The Hands of Time?'' Kai asked.
''They could allegedly manipulate time itself. Speed it up, slow it down. All sorts of things.'' Boomer answered, and laughed. ''See what I mean? Manipulate time? A ridiculous fairy tale.'' He said, chuckling.
''Then how would you know about something that doesn't exist?'' (Y/n) questioned.
''I read from books, they were works of fiction,'' Sanders replied.
''Who's this one?'' Nya asked, pointing to a man on the right.
''Oh, this handsome-looking fella? Ha! The legend says his name is Krux.'' Boomer answered, making Morro frown.
''And who is the nasty-looking guy?'' Lloyd questioned, pointing to the man on the left.
''In the stories, he's called Acronix.'' Dr Saunders replied.
---
At the monastery, Wu and Acronix moved around a bush, ready to strike.
Acronix growled. ''You might as well give up, Wu. I'm the superior fighter. And your brother isn't here to bail you out.''
''No. But neither is yours, Acronix.'' Wu retorted.
''And whose fault is that?'' Younger Boomer questioned.
''Garmadon and I did what we had to do to protect Ninjago.'' Tea-Obsessed Boomer answered.
''And I will do what I have to do,'' Acronix replied, revealing a sword that was hidden behind his back and charging at Wu.
The Boomers began to fight, with Wu blocking Acronix's attack with his bamboo staff, before using it to knock the Time Twin near a support.
Acronix ducked before the Old Timer could hit him in the face, avoiding another strike before climbing onto a part of the roof, looking down at Wu.
The Old Tea-Obsessed Man jumped up, but Acronix used his sword to slice the tip of his bamboo staff off, and Wu landed on the ground looking up at the Time Twin.
''Huh. More spry than I would expect. Let's see if you can keep up.'' Acronix told him. Wu climbed onto the roof, facing the Younger Boomer. He then quickly blocked a strike from the Time Twin.
---
Wu blocked Acronix's attack as they moved at the main part of the roof before going through the rubble of the ruins.
The Old Timer jumped up before Younger Boomer could strike him. ''Give it up, old man. I've got decades on you. I'm faster, stronger.''
''That's your mistake. You assume your youth is a greater weapon than my experience.'' Wu replied.
Acronix backed away and leapt up to where Wu was. He went to hit the Old Timer with his blade, only for Wu to block him. Acronix held onto the edge of the roof, once again trying to strike him with his sword.
Wu kept dodging the Younger Boomer's attacks, moving to the side as Acronix jumped at him.
''Arrogant to the finish. Just like your brother.'' Tea-Obsessed Boomer told him.
''Arrogant? No...confident!'' The Time Twin replied, and charged at Wu, but the Old Timer tilted back and threw him over.
Acronix dropped his sword, and it fell into the clouds. Before he could fall, Wu grabbed ahold of his cape.
''Arrogant, it was Krux's downfall. And now it's yours. Do you yield?'' Wu asked.
''Never,'' Acronix answered, turning his head to look at him with a glare.
''There's no escape this time, Acronix.'' The Old Tea-Obsessed Man told him, letting go of his cape before grabbing it again. ''Do. You. Yield?''
''I...yield.'' The Time Twin replied.
''So forty years after it began,'' Wu said, pulling on Acronix's cape as he moved back. ''the battle of the Elemental Masters versus the Hands of Time finally ended at precisely 6 p.m.'' The Old Timer told him, getting out his pocket watch to see as it turned to 6:00.
Thunder was heard as another red, blue, yellow, and green distortion appeared in the sky and a forked gauntlet with green electricity immediately stabbed into the middle of the monastery.
Like a ripple caused by a pebble thrown into the water, the blade created a wave of green energy, affecting anything it touched.
At the museum, the Ninja were just leaving, having finished their work.
''6 p.m. Quitting time,'' Kai said, running outside with the others.
The ninja disappeared, reappearing on the Destiny's Bounty. The alarms went off, with Jay falling.
''What just happened?'' Lloyd asked, confused. ''Time just...''
''Moved forward?'' Kai finished.
---
Back at the monastery, Acronix knocked Wu back as he picked up the weapon with its blades glowing green before charging at Wu and snatching his pocket watch from his beard to look at the time.
''And at 6:01, the battle began again.'' Younger Boomer declared.
---
Back at the Destiny's Bounty, the alarms were still going off.
''Um, weren't we just outside? When did we get here?'' Cole asked the others, confused.
Morro quietly sipped his coffee which was in his hand since they appeared in the Destiny's Bounty.
''How did we get here?'' Nya questioned.
''My circuits are picking up an energy displacement.'' The Ice Ninja answered.
''There was a displacement all right. It displaced us right in here.'' Burnt Toast replied.
''What is going on?'' Lloyd asked the others.
''I'm just as confused as you are.'' (Y/n) said, covering her ears.
Jay jumped up and covered his ears from the annoying noise. ''I don't know. But it's loud!''
---
Back at the monastery, Wu was blocking Acronix's attacks.
''You had your chance, old man. You should have let me drop. Now, let's see if your experience is more powerful than...'' Younger Boomer said, raising the weapon which fired a green beam into the air. ''the Time Blade.''
---
Nya was pressing buttons as she looked at some panels with the alarms still going off. ''These energy readings are off the charts. Where is it coming from?''
''I'm trying to pinpoint the location.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja replied.
''How about pinpointing the location of the off button? These alarms are giving me a...'' Ginja asked, still annoyed by the noise. Burnt Toast slammed a nearby console, turning the alarm off. ''...headache.'' Jay said, chuckling. ''Thank you.''
(Y/n) sighed, taking her hands off her ears. ''My ears hurt now.''
Ginja patted them, making her purr, but as soon as she remembered that people were surrounding her, she stopped, blushing with an awkward smile.
''Hm. This is surprising.'' Zane told the others.
''No, it's not. I've always had sensitive ears and—'' Jay replied.
''I meant, I think I know how we suddenly appeared on the Destiny's Bounty.'' Frosty interrupted.
''How?'' Cake Devourer asked.
''The displacement we experienced was not caused by just any normal energy. It was temporal energy.'' Zane answered.
''Oh, well, temporal energy. Of course. Everyone knows that's, um...powerful.'' Jaybird replied awkwardly.
''You have no idea what "temporal" means, do you?'' Burnt Toast asked.
''I do not,'' Jay admitted.
''It means "time''.'' Green Bean answered.
''Precisely. Whatever created that displacement can warp the very fabric of space-time.'' Zane told the others.
''Which is powerful, right?'' Ginja questioned.
''Very. All the normal rules of existence no longer apply to such a force.'' Snowflake answered.
''Told you it was powerful,'' Jay replied smugly, punching the air.
---
Wu and Acronix were still fighting, with Younger Boomer having the upper hand.
''That's right, flee, Master Wu!'' Acronix said as Tea-Obsessed Boomer blocked his attacks. The two soon locked their weapons before Wu knocked Acronix back, making him land on his back.
The Time Twin sat up, looking at Wu. '' "Master." Ha. To think my brother and I ever took orders from you!'' He mocked, getting back up and striking the old man, who moved back, while also losing a few beard hairs.
''Weak! Afraid! Lacking any ambition!'' He told Wu.
''Your only ambition was to rule.'' The Tea Obsessed Sensei replied.
''Because Krux and I deserved to rule! Do you recall what we said, on this very ground, forty years ago?'' Acronix questioned.
"Control time..." Wu replied as thunder was heard. "...control everything."
''Excellent memory, old man. And look who controls time again.'' He said and glanced at his Time Blade ''I just need a moment for my Time Blade to recharge.''
The two resumed fighting before Old Timer knocked Acronix back into a support. When the Younger Boomer got the rubble off, Wu was nowhere to be seen.
''Gone?'' Acronix asked himself.
Younger Boomer got up and started to look around before Old Timer emerged from a corner and the pair resumed fighting.
''It ends now, Acronix.'' Wu declared.
''It certainly does,'' Acronix replied.
Younger Boomer quickly disappeared and reappeared behind Old Tea-Obsessed man as he swung at the previous spot.
''No, no, no, I'm not there now,'' Acronix told him, and Wu rolled to avoid a stab from the Time Blade. ''That's where I was then.'' He said, and the Old Timer rolled over once again to avoid his strike before kicking him back.
Acronix was yet again knocked into a support and saw Wu charging at him. The Old Timer was about to jab him again, but the quick as a second Acronix moved out of the way.
The support broke, sending the main part of the roof falling on top of Wu, knocking the old master down. As he struggled to get out of the rubble, Younger Boomer appeared on top of it as he finally got free.
''You know what that means,'' Acronix said as the Time Blade began to glow brighter. ''I'll see you in just...'' He said as he disappeared and reappeared near Wu. ''A moment!''
The two quickly locked weapons, before the Time Twin slammed the Time Blade into Wu, knocking the old man back as green lightning-like energy surrounded him.
"Control time, control everything!" Acronix declared.
---
Back at the Destiny's Bounty, Zane had his head connected to the main computer.
Ginja sighed. ''Okay, yes, there was a little hiccup in time. But just one. I'm sure it was nothing. They probably happen all the time, and we don't realize it.'' He told the others. ''You know, like déjà vu. Can we go home now?'' He asked, and everyone looked his way.
''Seriously, we just cleaned up an entire museum! Aren't you guys tired?'' Jay questioned.
''Well, yes, but actually no,'' Morro answered, taking another sip of his coffee.
''I'm too awake to fall asleep.'' (Y/n) replied. ''And I'm too tired to care.'' She said, while Remo was taking a nap on Vitamin C's shoulders.
''Well...'' Zane said awkwardly.
''Well?'' Nya asked.
''I've located the surge's epicentre,'' Pixal informed.
''Where, Pixal?'' Frosty the Ice Ninja questioned.
The screen then showed the monastery before it was burned down.
''The old monastery.'' Robot Lady said.
''The monastery? That place totally burned down. Why would anyone or anything be up there?'' Cake Devourer asked.
''We should find out.'' Green Bean said.
''Oh, why? Cole's right, there's no reason for anyone to be up at the monastery. Zane's probably malfunctioning.'' Jay told the others.
''Self-diagnostic indicates negative.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja replied.
The Lightning Ninja nudged Zane. ''How about now?''
''No.''
''I agree with Lloyd. We should go. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.'' Burnt Toast told the others.
''And where there's massive energy displacement, there's usually trouble,'' Nya added.
''Well, maybe it's, like, you know, a harmless massive energy displacement,'' Jay said, chuckling as everyone looked at him. ''Come on. Seriously, I'm exhausted. We did our good deed for the day.''
Morro took another sip of his coffee.
''Wait. Master Wu said he was going to the monastery. Something about "finishing an old fight." He said this was something he should do alone.'' Lloyd informed the others.
The Master of Wind almost dropped his coffee but caught before it could fall, his face filled with surprise.
Jaybird sighed. ''What are you waiting for? Get us to the monastery!'' He ordered.
The ninja immediately starting moving for the Destiny's Bounty to fly. It immediately took off and flew towards the monastery.
---
On aboard the Destiny's Bounty, the ninja had arrived at the burnt down monastery. They looked down to see a mysterious dude who looked up at them.
''Hey. Has anyone seen Master Wu?'' Lloyd asked.
''Hm. I only see that guy.'' Ginja answered, pointing at the mysterious figure.
''Who's that?'' Cake Devourer questioned.
''I don't know. Let's find out.'' Jay answered.
''No, no, wait, what if...?'' Green Bean asked, before the Lightning Ninja kicked a button, lowering the anchor as he hitched a ride on it. ''Hey, Jay.''
''Ahem. Excuse me, I'm looking for someone.'' The Lightning Ninja told the Younger Boomer.
''That's no pirate.'' Acronix realised.
''What's he doing?'' Lloyd asked.
''Whatever he's doing, I guess it's working?'' (Y/n) questioned.
''Who do you seek, Ninja?'' The mystery dude asked.
''Spinjitzu Master. About yay tall, long beard, goes by the name Wu.'' Jay answered.
''Haven't seen him,'' Acronix answered.
''Hm.'' Lightning Bug said as he got out his nunchucks. ''That's odd. 'Cause judging by all the slash marks around here, I think you have.'' He replied, electricity sparking on his weapon's chain.
''Jay just pulled his nunchucks. Nya, you'd better get us down there fast.'' Lloyd ordered.
''Not gonna work. There's not enough room down there.'' Water Lily answered.
''It's just one guy. I'm sure Jay can handle...uh, whoever that is.'' 99% Cake told the others.
''Pixal....'' Zane said.
''Scanning.'' Robot Lady then scanned the mysterious figure. ''It appears to be...''
Frosty gasped. ''Acronix!''
''Acronix? As in Acronix and Krux? The Hands of Time?'' Cole asked.
''From the painting? But Dr Saunders says the battle wasn't real.'' Burnt Toast replied.
''Even if it was, it was forty years ago. Acronix would be an old man today, like Master Wu. But that guy down there is young.'' Green Bean told the others.
''But that's impossible. Unless...he time travelled?'' Nya asked.
''Looks like it,'' Morro answered, finishing his cup of coffee.
''We have to get down there. Now!'' Zane urged.
Nya turned the wheel.
Back down on the ground, Ginja charged at Acronix as he dodged his attack before the two sparred for a bit before Jay put away his nunchucks and fired a lightning bolt at Acronix, who uses the Time Blade to block it, disappearing as Jay fired another one, making him miss.
The Younger Time Twin suddenly reappeared behind Jay and struck him, knocking him forward into some rubble.
Acronix walked over to Jay. ''A moment ago, I had no quarrel with you. Unfortunately for you, I do now.'' He told the Lightning Rod before raising the Time Blade.
The remaining ninja slid down the chain, looking at Acronix.
''Did you see that?'' Lloyd asked. ''It's like...''
''He jumped forward in time.'' Kai finished.
''Yeah? Let's see him jump this!'' Cake Devourer exclaimed, his fists glowing as he jumped off the chain, firing dirt near the Younger Time Twin, who stopped to look at him, before seeing (Y/n), a look on surprise in his visible features.
His surprised expression quickly vanished as the Master of Earth attacked him.
Cole landed on the ground and charged at him with his glowing fists, but the quicker Acronix grabbed his hand and swung him around, throwing him at the others and knocking them down.
''More Ninja?'' Acronix asked, looking at them as they stood up. ''Curious.''
''Ninja, go!'' The ninja exclaimed, all doing spinjitzu.
Acronix then raised the Time Blade and disappeared, reappearing behind them as they all lost control knocking into each other and falling to the ground, groaning, as they lay in a heap, with Zane upside-down.
''You only missed me by a few seconds.'' The Time Twin told them.
''Sometimes I wish I was still Samurai X instead of a Ninja,'' Nya grumbled.
The Ninja put their hoods on as they faced Acronix.
''You're fast,'' Kai said as he summoned his fire. ''But faster than this?''
Burnt Toast threw the flame at Acronix, who dodged, making the monastery go up in flames again
The Younger Time Twin chuckled. ''Elemental Master of Fire. I've encountered one of you before.''
''Huh? You met my father?'' Firecracker asked.
The Twin former Master of Time then used the Time Blade to disappear. The ninja looked around until they heard a sound, and looked at him, where he stood on top of a support.
''There he is!'' Water Bucket said, pointing at him.
''Yes we have eyes, and we can see him, thank you,'' Morro replied.
''Ninja...Come out and play.'' Acronix said.
''Okay, that's a... bit creepy?'' (Y/n) questioned.
''Morro, (Y/n), Jay, Cole, Kai, we get Acronix. Zane, Nya, use your Elemental Powers to put out this fire.'' Lloyd ordered.
''Ninja...Come out and play.'' Younger Boomer taunted.
''Hang on. Who put you in charge? Why can't I help with the flames?'' Jay asked.
''You think lightning is better than water and ice for stopping flames?'' Greenie questioned.
''Good point. Let's go!'' Lightning Rod replied, moving closer to Acronix and firing a lightning bolt at him, who moved to avoid it.
Cole jumped onto the roof the Younger Boomer was on, his arms glowing orange. ''You got lucky last time.''
The two fought before Acronix dodged the Cake Devourer's attack, leaving him to get his fist stuck in some rubble.
''Clumsy. Like a fawn standing on her new legs.'' Younger Boomer taunted.
The fighting ninja leapt into the air, shouting as they fired their powers, with Acronix moving along the roof to avoid them.
Morro stopped, looking around for a Bearded Tea-Obsessed man, who was not in sight. While the others fought, the Master of Wind began to look around for the old master.
''Yes. Keep moving him back. He's gonna have to surrender, or else the flames are gonna get him.'' Lloyd said, too focused on Acronix to notice Morro looking around for Wu.
Weather Boy stopped by (Y/n). ''I'm going to look for Wu.'' He told her.
''Good luck, Morro.'' (Y/n) replied. He then nodded and continued with his search.
''Here's Acronix!'' The Time Twin said, looking at the ninja.
Everyone except Morro fired their powers at Acronix, who used the Time Blade to block them.
''It's gonna blow!'' Kai warned.
The Time Blade created a shockwave, making the ninja fall back, and Acronix disappeared with the Forward Time Blade.
Jay was the first to sit up, removing his hood. ''Ah. Burned down again. Man, this place just cannot catch a break.''
''Hey, at least (Y/n)'s not in the rubble this time,'' Remo replied, making (Y/n) pat him on the head.
Lloyd sat up as he removed his hood, looking around at the burning ruins. ''Neither did Acronix.''
''Good, you know me, I don't back down from a challenge, but I wouldn't want to face that guy again.'' Burnt Toast told the others after removing his hood.
Cake Devourer sat up. ''No way.'' He said, removing his hood. ''He moved at, like, the speed of time.''
''Come on, guys, let's get back to the Destiny's Bounty,'' Lloyd told the others as he stood up.
''But what about Master Wu?'' Water Bucket asked, quickly getting up.
''And where's Morro?'' Kai questioned.
Greenie gasped as he realised. ''We gotta find them. Spread out!'' The ninja then looked around the place for their old master (who was currently growing at a slightly faster rate).
Morro had found Wu and had grabbed his wrist before he could fall, however, he wasn't as strong as Cole in terms of muscle strength.
''Hey! I need help!'' Weather Boy shouted, grunting as he struggled to keep a hold.
(Y/n) and Cole appeared, running along a path to the cliff. Morro was trying his best to stay away from the edge, but the smooth rock beneath him made it difficult to do so.
The Master of Earth grabbed Weather Boy and pulled the two to safety, his hands glowing, stopping when they had gotten to safety. The others were by Wu's side, looking concerned.
''Master, are you alright?'' Zane questioned.
''I...'' The Old Timer then stood up. ''...fear not.''
''Why was Acronix here?'' (Y/n) asked.
''How did he do that?'' Burnt Toast questioned.
''Why were you fighting him?'' Jaybird asked.
''There is much to tell you. And not much time.'' Wu answered.
---
(Y/n) walked into the Animal Shelter, the bell ringing as she entered.
Before she could take a step further, a blade was pointed right at her throat.
''Who are yo- oh, it's you.'' Said her ''Grandfather'', stepping into view, still pointing the blade at her throat.
''Uhh, can you put the blade down?'' (Y/n) asked, raising her hands.
Her grandfather looked over her shoulder, spotting someone. ''Morro, I know you're there, I can see you hiding behind that bush.''
''Dangit,'' Morro muttered, standing up and walking over to the pair.
''Now can you put the blade down?'' Vitamin C questioned.
Her grandfather glanced around, scanning his surroundings before lowering the blade and pulling the two inside.
(Y/n) took a look around the shelter, as it had been some time since the ''girls night''.
The first thing she went to look at was the Grandfather Clock, which was now functioning. The compartment beneath the pendulum was closed, now almost camouflaged.
Her grandfather walked over with a plate of food. ''Just wanted to be a good dad- I mean grandfather.''
Remo appeared on Vitamin C's shoulder's, having smelled the heavenly deliciousness.
''Ham sandwiches?'' He asked, looking up at the plate eagerly.
''Of course.'' Her Grandfather answered with a smile, placing the plate on a table. ''And this time, I won't eat them.''
Remo eagerly dug into the ham sandwiches, and seconds later, the plate was empty.
''Oh, you're hungry. I have plenty more in the back.'' Her Grandfather said, and disappeared into the back.
Meanwhile, Morro was having a great time with the cats, who were swarming around him. He had a kitten on his head, and he was trying his best to keep it that way.
Then the kitten fell, and Weather Boy caught the kit in time using his wind powers.
Suddenly, a whole horde of cats and kittens attacked him, making him fall onto his back and thankfully squash none of the little fluff balls of adorableness.
One sat on his face, too stubborn to move, while some fought with his hair, messing it up in the process.
''Help! I'm allergic to adorableness!'' He exclaimed, laughing as some of the cats found his ticklish spots.
(Y/n) rushed in, expecting a horde of lions or something like that, only to find the cats and kittens swarming Weather Boy.
She smirked, taking out her phone and quickly snapping a picture. Morro groaned, but his suffering was quickly eased as a kitten nuzzled him.
(Y/n) then walked away, leaving Morro with the cats.
Meanwhile, Remo was being bestowed the greatest gift of all time: A Giant Ham Sandwich.
Along with the bounty of ham sandwiches his future reflection showed, there was also a mini crown made out of bread that was given to him by (Y/n)'s grandfather.
''Remo, the Great Ham Sandwich Devourer, consumer of all ham sandwiches.'' The seemingly old looking dude said as he placed the crown upon Remo's head.
For some reason, the little snake felt a little unsettled, looking into (Y/n)'s grandfather's eyes.
They were golden brown, not much different from a recent enemy they had fought who had escaped after fighting the ninja.
Remo quickly realised they were Acronix.
''Help! It's Acronix!'' Remo yelled, making the pair rush into the room, with (Y/n) holding a packet of birdseed while Morro held a stick.
The little snake quickly made his way back to (Y/n), appearing on her shoulders.
Her grandfather was currently looking as if he was deciding if he should act confused or fight the trio.
He looked conflicted, his emotions in a mess.
His hand began to move to his face, before he yanked at the flesh, pulling it away, and taking the wig off so his black hair would spill out.
Morro faced him with a glare, anger evident in his dark green eyes.
''You're not my grandfather!'' (Y/n) said.
''Correction, I'm your father.''
—
Somewhere not in Ninjago, not even the 16 known Realms, a traveller walked on a footpath, brushing past busy workers who were in a rush.
''Does anyone have a map? Or wifi?'' They asked, holding their phone.
None of the streetwalkers was responsive, ignoring their question, offering no answers.
The skyscrapers of New York towered over the people of residence, and from a plane, the passengers would think they looked like ants making their way around a maze of buildings.
The traveller had ''punk clothing'', and a hairstyle to match. Their spiked mohawk had its tips dyed orange, wearing the most comfortable hoodie they had.
And that traveller was Amias, who was searching for his sister.
—
Back in Ninjago, the trio faced Acronix.
''What do you mean you're my father? You're supposed to be my grandfather?!''
(Y/n) asked, very confused.
''Put down the birdseed and that stick, and I'll put down my sword,'' Acronix told them.
Morro was hesitant, before shaking his head. ''No. Put down your sword first then we'll put down our ''weapons''.''
''Okay, fine,'' Acronix replied, slowly putting down his blade.
Weather Boy pointed his stick at the former Master of Time, glaring at him.
''Now you put down your weapon,'' Acronix instructed, but Morro didn't listen.
''Okay boomer, do you really think I would? You hurt Wu for goodness sake!'' Weather Boy snapped.
(Y/n) put a hand on his shoulder. ''Morro, stop. We can fight him later, but right now he owes us an explanation.''
''I do?'' Acronix asked, confused.
''It's to clear up anything that may be confusing.'' Remo clarified.
''You better start talking.''
---
When her father was finished, the three sat in silence.
''So you used the Forward Time blade after you came out of that distortion early just to see (Y/n)?'' Morro questioned.
Acronix nodded, handing Remo another ham sandwich.
''And my mother has ''minor'' reality-bending powers? And she used them to make me look more like my other dad, who isn't really my dad, just so no one would think I'm your daughter?'' Vitamin C asked.
''Yes, your mother is quite mysterious at times, I always wonder how I got to know her so well.'' Her dad replied. He then glanced at the clock. ''Oh, I have to meet my brother soon.''
''Why can't you stay?'' Remo asked.
''It wouldn't hurt Krux to wait,'' Acronix answered, ''Might as well stick around for a bit more, just to spend some time with my Zenko.'' He said with a smile.
---
(Y/n)'s dad was laughing as he watched some videos from his daughter's phone.
''Thank you- for introducing me to memes,'' Acronix said in between laughs.
''You're welcome.'' (Y/n) replied, while Morro kept a close eye on the Time Twin.
Remo had finished eating all his ham sandwiches and was laying in a cowboy boot, head poking out with his forked tongue flickering. He wore a cowboy hat and was taking a small nap.
''There's a snake in my boot!'' Acronix exclaimed, clutching his chest.
''Who's been looking after the shelter?'' Morro questioned.
''Terry, and sometimes Nelson and his sister.'' Younger Boomer answered.
''Where are you going to meet your brother?'' The Master of Wind asked.
''Wouldn't you like to know, Weather Boy?'' Acronix answered.
''Don't call me that,'' Morro replied, annoyed. He then looked over at (Y/n). ''I hope you're regretting your decision to let him watch and look at some memes.''
''Nah, to me, it's the best decision I've ever made.'' Vitamin C replied.
''Well, it's time for me to go.'' Her dad announced. ''You three go first, can't risk you following me.''
''Okay.'' (Y/n) said, and Acronix pulled her into a hug.
''I'm trying to be a good dad here.'' He told her.
''Well then, you wouldn't be so ''evil'' if you were a good dad.'' Vitamin C replied.
Acronix pulled out of the hug and shrugged. ''You may go now.''
The two walked out the door, with (Y/n) gently picking up Remo and setting him on her shoulders.
When they were gone, Acronix walked over to the grandfather clock and opened the compartment under the pendulum.
The Forward Time Blade gleamed as he took it out, the chronosteel shining in the light.
---
(Y/n) laid in bed, reading with Remo quietly snoring by her side.
There was a knock on her door. ''Yes, you may come in.''
Jay poked his head into the room, his expression brightening when he saw Vitamin C was awake. He gingerly opened the door a bit more and stepped into the room.
''Jay, reporting for head pat duty.'' He said, saluting. He then snickered. ''I said ''duty''.''
''Alright, bring on the head pats.'' (Y/n) replied with a smile, putting down her book.
Jay smiled and walked over to her. He began stroking Vitamin C's ears, making her purr like a cat.
''Alright, can you make the head pat duty a real thing? This is great.'' (Y/n) told him.
''I'll see if I can,'' Jay replied, blushing.
Jaybird continued stroking her ears until all was silent. He then noticed the Master of Illusion had fallen asleep, a smile on her face while she slept.
Ginja stroked her ears one more time before taking something out of his pocket. It was his half of the ripped half of the drawing that she did.
Jay left the drawing on her bedside table and walked out of the room, giving her one last look before going to bed.
