Strap yourselves in, this will be a rollercoaster

In a cold snowy forest filled with birch trees and birds, an old man with a long beard that smelled of tea walked with a bamboo staff.

Coming to a tree bigger than the others, Past Wu tapped on the door and waited.

''Can I help you?'' An ageing man with greying hair and glasses asked kindly as he opened the door.

''I'm looking for a boy named Zane.'' The Past Tea-Obsessed Man told him.

''Hm. He's out back chopping wood. I'll take you to him. It's curious, you're our second guest in a long while. An old man visited us last night. He had taken ill, and he needed shelter. It was as if winter had followed him here.'' Past Julien said as he guided the older man towards Zane.

''The Master of Ice.'' Past Wu thought aloud.

''Well, of course, we gave him shelter, food. He was very thankful, and very intrigued by my son. It's peculiar. Ever since he left, Zane's been acting stranger than usual.'' Past Julien told the Past Tea Obsessed Man.

''Very peculiar indeed.'' Past Wu mused as he looked at Julien.

''Here he is.'' Past Julien said as they stopped at the top of a hill, looking down to where a boy with white clothes and platinum blond hair stood with an axe in his hands, as two logs fell neatly into the log piles near him.

Past Wu watched as he cut a log in half, before using the flat side of his axe again to throw them into the log piles. ''Hello, Zane,'' Wu spoke, making the Past To-Be Ice Ninja turn to him.

''Hello. Have we met?'' Past Zane questioned, his voice laced with both curiosity and confusion, looking at the man before him.

''No. But some would say I have a knack at finding young talent.'' Past Wu answered with a warm smile.

''Do you need me to chop wood?'' The To-Be Tin Can asked.

''Hehe. Maybe one day, but not today.'' The Past Tea-Obsessed Man replied.

''Then why are you here? Are you lost?'' Past Zane inquired.

''Lost? Hm. An interesting word. Sometimes one has to be lost in order to be found.''

''That does not make any sense.'' Past To-Be Titanium Ninja told him.

''Maybe one day, but not today. Goodbye, Zane.'' Past Wu said, and turned around, beginning to walk back to where he came from.

''Uh, will I see you again?'' Past Zane asked.

''I'm sure of it. And when we do, you'll be asked to do far more than chop wood.'' The Past Tea-Obsessed Man answered stopping to look at him.

In his disguise as Snake Jaguar, the Ice Ninja stood in the train carriage, looking at the rails ahead.

Then, there was a glimmer of light at the opposite end of the tunnel, and as he watched it, he realised it was a train headed straight for them, on the same train track, making him gasp.

Zane glanced at Ultra Violet, who was looking at it heading straight for them as if this was all fine if it crashed into them.

She only laughed at him, and as he turned around to face the other Sons of Garmadon he could hear them laughing too, though as his gaze settled on (Y/n), her gaze was calm, though her shoulders were a bit tense as she stared at her feet.

He then turned his attention back to where the train was coming straight for them, waiting for impact as it got closer and closer.

And at the last moment, their train carriage turned into a secret tunnel, and the wall closed behind them, sealing them in.

Zane sighed in relief as he was not smashed to smithereens, and as it slowed to a stop, the doors slid open.

''It's time you meet the Big Man.'' Ultra Violet spoke, holding it open as the disguised nindroid went to get off.

''The Big Man?'' Echoed Zane/Snake Jaguar, confused.

The Earth Ninja grunted as he tried to break apart the bars of the cell he was in, though it proved useless as nothing happened. He then attempted to hit them with his Earth Punch but he ended up hurting his hand. ''Ah! Vengestone.''

''Careful!'' A S.O.G member warned.

''What do you think I'm doing?'' Another one asked as two of the bikers appeared, carrying a box. ''So, what's in the box?''

''You haven't heard? The boss found the key for the last mask.'' The first answered as he unlocked the door, and went into the room.

''If they get the last mask, then they'll have all three,'' Cole whispered to himself.

''Ha! It's all coming together. It'll be good to see Lord Garmadon again.'' The second one said as he closed the door behind them, but the Earth Ninja thought he saw a brief flash of silver scales, slithering into the room as the door closed.

''You mean it'll be bad.'' The first one replied, ramming his fist into his palm.

''Lord Garmadon?'' The Earth Ninja echoed.

''Hey! You always talk to yourself this much? Shut it!'' The second one ordered.

As they walked away Cole began to talk to himself. ''I don't talk to myself that much. I mean, sometimes, but not that much. I mean, it's only when I just kind of—oh.''

The four walked into the S.O.G base, with Zane looking around at the gang members he could see one throwing knives at a target and two using a DJ table to make some edgy beats.

Zane was then shoved to the floor by Ultra Violet and looked up at a Son of Garmadon who stared down at him.

''Um...'' Snake Jaguar said awkwardly as the S.O.G member growled at him. ''So you're the Big Man?''

''And you're the scum who saved Mr E.'' A beefcake of a man spoke, and the Sons of Garmadon parted to reveal a giant dude with grey skin and in the usual biker clothes who was probably the same size as the Hulk, who laughed. ''They say your name is Snake Jaguar. What sort of name is that?''

''The sort that can put you on your backside if you have to ask.'' Zane retorted, and the man charged at him with a growl, stopping when their faces were centimetres away from each other. The Ice Ninja didn't flinch at all, and he even growled back, though it wasn't as intimidating, making the others laugh.

''So you're in charge of the Sons of Garmadon.'' The Ice Ninja said, looking up at the grey hulk dude.

Ninjago Hulk Bootleg laughed. ''He thinks I'm in charge.'' He replied as everyone else laughed. ''I'm Killow. It's my job to decide who's in and who's out. You wanna know more about us, first you gotta become one of us. And to be a Son of Garmadon, you first have to ride with us. So what do you say, boys and girls? Shall we take him to the Teeth?'' He asked the biker gang.

''Teeth! Teeth! Teeth!'' The Sons of Garmadon chanted.

''Eyes forward, weirdo.'' UV said, making him look towards the big man.

''What is the Teeth?'' Zane questioned.

''Like I said, you want answers, first you have to ride,'' Killow answered.

Ultra Violet laughed. ''He doesn't have a bike.'' She said, grinning as the other bikers laughed again. (Y/n) sighed as she looked around at them.

''You want to join a motorcycle gang and you have no bike?'' The Big Chonky Dude questioned, making the bikers boo at the nindroid.

''I rammed it right down those Ninjas' throats. They had it coming.'' Snake Jaguar retorted, pointing a finger at the Big Chonk before crossing his arms.

''You can have Ultra Violet's.''

''Huh? What? What? But I wanna ride.'' UV whined a cross look on her face.

''The Quiet One wants you here,'' Killow told her, putting a careful hand on her back.

''The Quiet One?'' Zane asked, confused as he looked at the two. He then looked over at (Y/n), who was biting her lip for some reason.

Only because she remembered something.

''Ultra Violet'' and a seemingly random S.O.G Biker ran down the hallway to Cole's cell.

''I want a word with the Ninja! In private!'' ''UV'' demanded.

''Oh, hey, easy. Of course, Ultra Violet. He's all yours.'' Chopper Maroon told her, ignoring the biker beside her who was looking at him with an emotionless expression.

''Yeah, as long as it's not me. Do whatever you want.'' Mohawk added, and the two left.

''I ain't in the mood, sunshine.'' Cake Devourer said as soon as he saw ''Ultra Violet''. The image of the purple crazy lady then flickered to reveal she was actually Zane in disguise, with the biker beside him reverting to the Foxglove disguise. ''Zane! (Y/n)!''

''Shh,'' Zane said, while (Y/n) checked to see if anyone had heard.

''Oh, haha! Oh, aren't you two a sight for sore eyes.'' Cole replied, a bright smile on his face as he clutched the bars of his cell.

''Did they hurt your eyes?'' Zane asked, concerned.

''Yes. No. I'll explain later. Just get me outta here. They have the key to the third mask.'' The Earth Ninja answered.

''The key?'' The Nindroid questioned.

''If they unite all the masks, they're gonna resurrect Lord Garmadon. The bad one! Four arms and all. We need to get that key and get outta here.'' Cole told the two, one of his arms making it through the bars.

''Um...'' Zane said awkwardly as he looked away.

''Well, what are you waiting for? Unlock the door. Let's go!'' The Earth Ninja urged.

''I can't. I need to ride with them to learn who's behind all this.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja told him.

''They're gonna get all the masks! Who cares who's in charge?'' Cole questioned.

''When the station clears, break out. Break out and steal the key.'' Zane informed him.

(Y/n) then decided to speak up: ''Cole, do you know where Remo is?'' She asked, her voice hoarse, as if someone had torn out her voice box, put it in a potato sack, dragged it through the desert, slapped it with a cactus too many times to count then put back it in.

''I think he slithered into that room over there,'' Cole answered, pointing over at a door with a circular window in it. ''And I also think it's locked.''

The Orange Ninja groaned and then she suddenly began to cough but quickly did it into her elbow to muffle the sound, making the other two look over at her concerned.

Before they could speak, Ultra Violet could be heard as she made her way down the hallway towards the trio.

''What do you mean I just walked past here? Get your eyes fixed.''

''Good luck, friend,'' Zane said as he hid behind a barrel with (Y/n).

''How am I supposed to steal the key? I need a key! Zane? Zane!''Cole called out. Ultra Violet walked by, though she stopped when she reached Cole's cell. ''Uh...Sane! I'm not sane! Get me outta here! I'm insane! Argh! Aah!''

''You and I both.'' UV replied, once again doing her crazed woman laugh.

The Sons of Garmadon waited for the signal to start the race, all lining up along the width of the tunnel as they sat on their motorcycles.

''Bikers ready?'' Ultra Violet questioned, as some revved their engines, holding her purple neckerchief in her hand.

Killow laughed as he made his way into the line, his giant bike making the other bikers look small compared to him. ''You know the rules when you ride with us?'' He asked Zane, looking down at him with a grin.

''Let me guess: there are no rules?'' Snake Jaguar/Frosty the Ice Ninja questioned.

The Big Chonk's grin disappeared, leaving him disappointed with the nindroid's answer. ''Well, that was no fun, was it?''

''Ride or die!'' UV shouted and threw her neckerchief into the air, and as it descended, the bikers watched it. As soon as it touched the ground, the bikers took off, with Zane left in the dust.

''Come on, Zane. You can do this.'' The nindroid told himself and sped off after them.

(Y/n) glanced behind her, and smiled as Zane appeared, though her smile turned into a frown as she heard Crazy Jojo Siwa talking to someone on the phone.

Killow heard a beep in his ear and put his hand where the communication device in his helmet was. ''Yes?''

''He's one of the Ninja. And so is she.''

''Who?'' The Big Chonk questioned.

''Snake Jaguar and Foxglove.''

''Snake Jaguar and Foxglove are spies?'' Killow asked in disbelief, before turning to a biker. ''Make sure the new guy doesn't finish the race, along with that ''mute'' girl.''

The biker then went up to Zane, and slammed into him with his motorcycle, making him fall behind, the sound of screeching tyres filling the subway tunnel.

''How did the Quiet One know?'' (Y/n) questioned as she watched the tunnel ahead. ''I didn't tell more than two people, and I made sure no one else was listening in.''

Her train of thought was interrupted as the biker slammed into her, and the girl tightened her grip on the handlebars, glaring at them fiercely, though they did it again, making her hit the wall and almost lose control, falling behind with Zane.

Civilians screamed as they passed through a subway station, some leaving behind their newspapers as well.

Two bikers blocked the two from getting past, and suddenly the nindroid was momentarily driving on the wall, making a female biker's jaw drop, and (Y/n) grin.

''Move, I got no time for your crap.'' The Orange Ninja said as she sped through the gap between the two bikers.

''I see you, Ninja.'' said a biker as they pulled out a knife, slowing down to go back to Zane, stabbing their knife in the gas tank, leaking its contents and leaving a trail of deadly flammable liquid.

Then, one of the bikers pulled out a lighter, and carefully leaned over as they flicked it open, and lit it up.

''Ice!'' Though the nindroid was stopped as his arm was grabbed by a biker, stopping him from extinguishing the flame, then he accidentally switched bikers with a Son of Garmadon, leaving them to deal with the flame that now caught up and was headed straight for the bike as the sounds of a distant train became clear.

The train then appeared, its lights almost blinding, but the two swerved to avoid it, taking the way into the subway station, up the stairs, and into the light, where the bikers soared in an arch, and onto the streets.

''Pixal, can you read me? My cover and (Y/n)'s may be blown, but I've spotted the Mask of Deception.''

''I read you. Acquiring picture.''

''Did he say he sees the Mask of Deception?'' Harumi asked as she looked at the screen back on the Bounty.

''I don't know how long I'll last, so I'll tell you this now. I don't know who's in charge, but he is known as "The Quiet One."''

''The Quiet One?'' Simprumi questioned, looking confused, but she didn't notice that behind her, Morro was leaning against the wall, glaring at her suspiciously.

''Hold tight a little longer. We have a new bike coming to you now!'' Nya told him. ''Zane, (Y/n), where's Cole?''

The Earth Ninja failed to pick the lock and threw the screw he was using away, sighing in defeat as his back slid down the bars.

''Okay, think. Think, Cole. You're not thinking, you're running your mouth. Look who's talking. Now I am having a conversation with myself. How annoying is that?'' Cole asked himself.

''Hey, Dangerbuff, be quiet!'' Called Chopper Maroon nearby.

''That's it! Ahem. Shine, little glow-worm, glimmer glimmer. Hey, there glow worm. Don't get dimmer! Shine, little glow-worm, glimmer glimmer! Hey there, little glow worm! Don't get dimmer! Shine, little glow-worm! Don't get dimmer! Hey, little glow-worm!'' The Earth Ninja sang.

''Stop!''

''Glimmer glimmer! Shine, little glow-worm! Don't get dimmer! Shine, little glow-worm, shine, little glow-worm, glimmer glimmer!''

''I can't take it!'' Chopper Maroon shouted, and ran over to Cole's cell. ''Would you stop!?''

''Hm, maybe,'' Cole said, before grabbing his collar and slamming him against the bars, knocking him out as the keys fell to the Earth Ninja's feet, he picked them up. He then unlocked the cell door and walked out. ''Dad would be proud.''

Killow and the S.O.G drove through the traffic, which seemed to become more packed as they went, with the two ninja following them.

Though the Big Man soon disappeared into the metal jungle of cars, and as the two went on, the traffic became denser, to the point they couldn't use their bikes to get through.

Zane was the first to get off his motorcycle, with (Y/n) doing the same, and the pair weaved through the traffic, hopping from vehicle to vehicle.

The nindroid then looked up, and the Orange Ninja did the same, to see two beautiful motorcycles majestically floating down to the ground, and touching down on a spot where the traffic wasn't.

The two then hopped on their bikes and started their engines, with (Y/n) recognising the bike was one from Ronin's shop. Nya must've paid a lot just to get it so she could add a few things to it. Thinking of Ronin, his leg was probably healed by now.

As the two once again sped off in the direction of the biker gang, the Orange Ninja couldn't help but feel something was about to go down...

Cole checked if the coast was clear, and found it to be so, and he walked over to the room with the circular window in the door. He peeked through it, only seeing a box with a red cloth in it.

''Huh.'' He said before unlocking the door. ''The key to the third mask?'' He asked himself as he uncovered it, before seeing the face of a baby staring back at him.

He then kicked the box, and backed away a bit, before staring at it as he heard the baby make a few sounds.

''Ugh! Uh oh! And...that's not a key. Sorry, baby, but I'm looking for a key. I gotta go. You understand.'' He told the baby as it gurgled upon seeing him. He then got up to leave but the baby began to cry. ''Oh, fine. But for the record, I'm no longer talking to myself. I'm talking to you.''

''And me,'' Remo spoke as he appeared on Cole's shoulder, looking at the baby. Before the Earth Ninja could greet him, he was interrupted by no one other than-

Crazy Jojo Siwa/UV.

Ultra Violet laughed. ''You didn't think it'd be that easy, did you?'' She asked as the baby cried again. ''Sweet, isn't he?'' she questioned as she walked closer to the trio.

''"He?" If you want the masks to bring back Garmadon, why take a child?'' Cake Devourer inquired as he glanced at the baby.

''You really have no clue, do you?'' Ultra Violet asked before leaping forward as she grabbed the baby, the two locked in a tug-of-war with the baby in the middle, with Remo also trying to intimidate UV as well.

''You wouldn't hurt a child!''

''Lord Garmadon will not be stopped.''

''Lloyd saved his father. He sacrificed himself for Ninjago. He wasn't a bad man.'' Cole told UV.

''This one will be.'' Ultra Violet replied as she kicked him out of the room. ''Lord Garmadon will eventually destroy you all.'' She then charged at the door, and Cole slammed it shut on her, watching as she slid down the door through the circular window, making the baby and Remo laugh.

The two ninja bikers drove together, following the SOG bikers as the terrain became rockier.

''Yes, this will do just fine,'' Zane said as he fired some thingy ma jigs from his bike, stopping a few more of the bikers, leaving Mr E and Killow.

{I don't think anyone knows what they are. Oh well. }

The two followed as Mr E and Killow turned around a corner sharply. ''We've caught up with the mask.'' The nindroid reported before Killow put the mask on, and the two heard a distorted laugh as the mask's eyes glowed with orange-red fire.

(Y/n)'s bike was then lifted into the air, and the girl glared at the Big Chonk before he released his telekinetic hold on the bike, making it fall back onto the ground harshly, though she was still driving.

He then started levitating rocks, and as he did so, the two ninja looked at the floating rocks, with the Orange Ninja going back into her ninja outfit so she could use her slow-mo power on them.

As the two dodged them, (Y/n) slowed down one before it could crush her, while Zane glanced back at her in concern. When more were lifted into the air, distracting the nindroid, Killow slammed his bike into Zane's, though the ninja quickly regained control of his bike.

''If you're having trouble, I built in some additional help,'' Nya informed the nindroid.

''I see that now. Activating.'' Zane said as he activated it, the falcon flying out and destroying the rocks in front of them. ''It's good to see you too, my old friend. Or should I say, now?'' He asked.

''You brought the ninja with you. This is your fault! Fix it!'' Killow told Mr E, who stayed behind to deal with the two, though (Y/n) seemed to have turned invisible and was nowhere to be seen.

''You're the Quiet One, aren't you? You're the one in charge!'' Zane demanded as they came closer to a cliff edge. ''Ugh! Who are you?'' Mr E then grabbed and held onto the nindroid's motorcycle handle to prevent him from steering away. ''Who are you!?''

They both jumped off their bikes as they crashed into each other, the bikes falling off the cliff and crashing as they landed.

As Zane opened his eyes, he could see a stray motorcycle helmet, and as he looked towards Mr E he could see sparks coming out of the mysterious figure, without his helmet.

''You're...You're like me. A Nindroid.''

(Y/n) zoomed through the desert, chasing after Killow who must've thought that he was alone, and in the distance, the Orange Ninja spotted something.

The Teeth.

A giant cave that looked like the yawning mouth of an ancient beast, made out of stalactites and stalagmites that dotted the cave entrance, along with two holes in its surface that made up the ''eyes''.

Suddenly, she felt something ram into her bike, and as she stopped using her illusions to make herself invisible, she saw a guy with pale grey eyes and short brown hair on a bike beside her, grinning.

''Who the heck are you?'' She asked the guy, who tapped the handlebars of his bike casually. He just came out of nowhere, and she didn't remember him starting in the bike race.

''The name's Casimir.'' The dude introduced, and (Y/n) looked ahead, ignoring him. He then grumbled when he realised she wasn't listening to him. ''But you can call me Wy Enn, reality bender of worlds.''

''Alright, whoever you are, I'm gonna call you Emo Reject, you okay with that?'' (Y/n) asked, making him look a bit cross. The Orange Ninja then watched as a pillar of rock shot up out of nowhere, surprising her, she swerved to avoid it.

''I should tell you something,'' Wy Enn/Casimir started. ''You have more than one spy in your team, one that's willing, and one that's not. I assume you already know who the Quiet One is, right?''

''Shut up you weirdo.'' (Y/n) replied as she slammed her bike into his, though he seemed unaffected. ''And yeah I already know.''

''You're a quick learner,'' Casimir said, looking over at her. ''But are you quick enough to figure out who the unwilling spy is?''

''The more you speak, the more I know. So shut that trap of yours and get on with your already miserable life.'' (Y/n) retorted, as he rolled his eyes.

''Sheesh, you won't have that attitude when I'm ending the world.''

''That's because I'll be dead. What else, did you expect me to be miserable too? Heh, living in a world where you exist is bad enough as it is.''

''Your friend back there is having trouble with someone you know from your past (Y/n), I think it's better for you to go save your ''future boyfriend'' or whatever,'' Casimir told her, as the girl growled and turned her bike around to get Zane.

As Mr E was about to leave the nindroid, after placing the trap in him, he heard the roar of an engine, before looking up to see (Y/n) standing on the cliff edge, looking down at Zane, who was laying down on the ground, the wires showing through the broken parts of him.

She then looked over at Mr E, and as her gaze moved to his face, her breath caught in her throat.

It was Echo Zane.

He had changed, he was no longer the cinnamon roll the girl knew. Instead, he stood over Zane's broken nindroid body as if he was a pile of metal and bolts.

''Why?'' The girl asked, her sadness slowly turning to anger as she realised what the copper nindroid had done to Frosty the Ice Ninja.

Echo was silent, knowing if he said anything, the girl was going to get angrier. He could feel it radiating from her in waves, making him feel intimidated. But he stood his ground. The copper nindroid then jumped back onto the cliff edge, looking at the girl.

(Y/n)'s eyes seemed to glow a yellowish-orange and Echo could feel her power, but if he backed out now he would be known as a coward. The Orange Ninja moved forward, towards him, and he did the same, and then she went faster, rushing towards him.

The first strike was as Echo aimed a fist at her head, trying to knock her out so he would not have to hurt her further than that.

(Y/n) caught it, and used it to push the copper nindroid away from her as she let go. She then charged at him as he went on the defence, blocking her attacks with his fist, looking into her eyes.

Echo thought he was lucky to have lasted this long. Or maybe the girl was holding back on her punches, after all, she did show him kindness once.

But that was long ago.

And perhaps she had forgotten it, and him.

One wrongly placed fist would be enough to end the fight, and that's what he was hoping to avoid, but only one would be walking away from this confrontation.

As (Y/n) almost slipped off the edge, he delivered the last blow to her stomach, sending her over the edge. Watching as the girl fell, he winced as he heard a crack.

When she was on the ground, he jumped down, heading to his bike, glancing back at the girl who was wounded from the rocks under the cliff, he was about to leave when he changed his mind about something.

(Y/n) opened her eyes, seeing him walk over with something in his hands. She then looked down at herself, her head beginning to spin as she saw a small bit of a red liquid seeping out through her wounds.

Echo held a damp cloth in his hands and began wiping away at the blood, cleaning her wounds to prevent infection, drying them off with a dry cloth and wrapping a bandage around one of her arms where one of the bigger wounds were.

It hurt to breathe, (Y/n) realised, as she looked down at her ribs then at Echo. He seemed to be confused, and for good reason, as he had no idea how to treat an injured rib.

''Rest, (Y/n).'' Echo finally spoke, as he turned to get on his bike, placing his biker helmet over his head.

''You'll need it.''
