Yesterday

The little snake slithered as fast as he could.

Behind him, he could hear the thumping of footsteps and the hisses of snakes in Machia's snaky hair.

The little snake slipped into the water, with a few Vermillion snakes following him.

It wasn't going to be easy to escape.

His swimming for the exit was stopped as a scaly hand grabbed him, and lifted him. The little silver snake turned around to see Blunck, whose eyes gleamed with excitement once he saw Remo in his hand.

Remo then did the only thing on his mind.

He sank his teeth into the unprotected Vermillion Commander's wrist.

Blunck screeched in pain and threw Remo, to where he was almost at the exit of the swamp. The little snake then winked at the Vermillion Commander and turned invisible.

''Nice job!'' Raggmunk told Blunck sarcastically.

The two then began arguing like children, while Machia did her job.

''Vermillion, do not let him escape!'' Machia barked, the previously idle Vermillion snakes forming into their soldier shape, and began to chase after him.

Remo was getting tired as he entered the sewer tunnel. He then thought of how many ham sandwiches would be waiting for him and began to pick up the pace.

But the Vermilion was getting closer, as they had legs and the little one didn't.

There was a thud up ahead, and Remo saw a familiar serpentine friend appear. Wren.

''Wren, I need help!'' The silver snake shouted, gaining her attention as he turned visible once more.

His Fangpyre Serpentine Friend began running, swiftly advancing. Once she was close enough, she scooped Remo up and turned, with the Vermillion Warriors on her heels.

''See ya, seaweed faces!'' Wren exclaimed, breaking into a sprint and quickly disappearing into the maze of tunnels.

Krux and Acronix watched as they turned around the corner, looking frustrated.

''Who knows for how long he's been listening,'' Krux said, gritting his teeth.

Acronix was still looking offended at the insult Wren gave the pair. ''This isn't seaweed, it's face paint.''

''Whatever it is, it doesn't matter,'' Machia replied. ''He is not our main concern.''

Back with Remo and Wren, his Fangpyre friend had stopped to take a break once they were far away enough to be considered safe.

''Thank you,'' Remo said to Wren, making her smile.

''No problem, I thought a certain little snek needed my help.'' She replied.

''I know where we can go.'' The little snake told her.

''Where?''

''Ronin's shop.''

(Y/n) opened her eyes, finding herself in her bed. Outside it was dark, and her ears perked, listening for any more sounds. She then used her tails to throw aside the covers, and she walked outside.

The night was quiet, making it seem like the whole world was asleep, enjoying the peace of their dreams, or maybe they were in a terrible nightmare that would never end.

There was no way to know really, so the kitsune ninja drank some of Morro's precious coffee to keep herself awake, but not too much, otherwise, it'd be harder to get back to sleep.

Placing her leaf atop her head, she transformed into a bird and hopped off the floating temple, and spread her wings, flying towards Ninjago City.

The cold wind of the night kept her thoughts clear and her senses alert, with the scenery passing below being mostly sand.

Landing at the shop and almost losing the shapeshifting leaf later, (Y/n) entered. Remo was curled on a plate, asleep, surrounded by the crumbs of what used to be a ham sandwich.

Ronin was sleeping with his hat over his face, snoring. How he didn't wake the little snake with the noise he made, it was a mystery to (Y/n).

Remo's forked tongue flickered in his sleep, and he slowly opened his eyes. ''(Y/n)?'' He asked sleepily, confused.

He then fully opened his eyes and blinked several times. ''(Y/N)!'' The little snake exclaimed excitedly, and she picked him up, turning to Macaronin.

Swiper began to stir, his hat slowly falling off his face as he woke up. ''Huh?'' the thief said, as his hat slid into his lap. He then grabbed and put it back on his head, and looked at (Y/n).

''Wha? It's still dark out...'' Ronin said grumpily. ''I was taking a nice nap.''

''Too bad Ratnin,'' Remo replied, before making a small squeak. ''Sorry.'' He quickly apologised.

''It's alright.'' (Y/n) reassured him, making the little snake smile.

''Yeah, I'm not too bothered by that,'' Swiper said. He then tried to get up, only to grunt in pain and fall back on his butt, clutching his injured leg.

''Dareth did injure you, huh?'' Vitamin C asked. Ronin nodded, looking at his injured leg. He glanced at (Y/n) to smile at her, while she was looking at Remo.

The (h/c) haired girl then sat down next to him, making him blush, though it wasn't that noticeable. Vitamin C's hands began to glow blue, making her groan and put them in her lap.

Absentmindedly she began to hum, and soon Ronin was whistling along to the tune. Remo joined in, moving his head to the beat.

(Y/n) froze as she heard steps outside. The Vermillion, they were here. Swiper stopped his whistling while the little snek looked at the door.

''Ronin, do you have a wheelchair?'' Remo questioned.

''Random question, but yes.'' He answered. ''It's in the back, the only thing those snakes hadn't taken beside a chloroform pillow.''

(Y/n) raised an eyebrow at the mention of the chloroform pillow, before getting up and going into the back to retrieve the wheelchair.

It took some time to get Ronin into the wheelchair, and while that happened, Remo had piled anything he found against the door to block the Vermillion should they decide to barge in.

When she was done, the door was thrown open, with the stuff the little snake had piled instantly falling apart into a heap.

Vermillion blocked the doorway, but before they could get in (Y/n) threw Remo at them. Yes, it was a seemingly random action, but she did it anyway.

The little snake quickly got to work, grabbing a few of the Vermillion snakes and yeeting them out of the door.

In short, the Vermillion snakes got rekt. I meant wrecked.

(Y/n) grabbed the handlebars of the wheelchair, and the trio skedaddled.

After getting Ronin into the hospital, the two were walking through the streets of Ninjago. Suspiciously there had been no Vermillion activity heard, and (Y/n) stayed alert, with Remo doing so too.

She had also been surrounded by a few fans on her way back from the hospital, who had been taking photos with their blinding flashes, before running off and posting it on their social media.

The little snake knew she was running low on the energy the coffee provided and was about to tell her something interesting when (Y/n) suddenly whipped around to face someone that was behind her.

''Tell me why you're here. Now.'' Vitamin C demanded, her tone cold. She didn't seem to be in the mood to fight at the moment the little snake noted.

Acronix sighed. ''I saw what happened, what are you doing out so late?''

Remo quickly hid, knowing if the Younger Seaweed-faced bro saw him, he'd be a toasted ham sandwich, after all, he had the information.

''Helping out an old friend.'' She answered. ''What are you doing out so late? Planning to kidnap your daughter?''

Acronix's eyes quickly widened, before blinking it away. ''No, I'm just here to look out for my daughter.''

''Sure, suuure... ''(Y/n) dragged the word out, rolling her eyes at her father. He shrugged, indifferent.

Vitamin C then started walking again, silent, with Acronix doing the same. Her father then glanced at his BorgWatch, his eyes widening when he saw the time.

''It's late, I should get to my brother, otherwise, he'll be suspicious.''

''You didn't have long?'' (Y/n) asked, sounding tired.

Acronix heaved a sigh, once again glancing at the time. ''I can see that you're tired, is there any place I can walk you to so you're safe?''

Vitamin C was hesitant, partially because her dad was pretty much the villain of the time - and her senses were weakened by her exhaustion, she was ready for a good long sleep.

There could be a Vermillion ambush up ahead with her father leading her into it. And she didn't want to risk it, especially with the previous points.

''How can I know I can trust you?''

''You have my word,'' Younger Seaweed-faced Boomer answered.

''Alright then, Skylor's Noodle House.''

Along the way, her dad told her some stories, while also adding in a few cringy dad jokes along the way.

''When you were little, you used to wait at the door for me, and when I came in, you'd bounce up and down in excitement,'' Acronix said with a smile. ''You also loved to sleep and eat, but when you were awake you played hide and seek often.''

(Y/n) smiled a bit, her hands in her pockets.

''If a child refuses to sleep during nap time, are they guilty of resisting a rest?''

Vitamin C groaned, making him chuckle.

''You really do tell the worst dad jokes,'' Remo spoke as he appeared on (Y/n)'s shoulders, shaking his head.

''I believe you'll have to hear (Y/n)'s mother's mum jokes if you wanted worse,'' Acronix replied.

''Alright, we're here.'' Orange Peel said as they arrived, rolling her eyes at her father.

''Okay, goodbye.'' Younger Seaweed-Faced Boomer replied, giving his daughter a quick hug before walking away. ''See you tomorrow.''

(Y/n) yawned, and walked inside. The little snake did the same, attracting attention from Noodle Daughter, who was cleaning a table out of boredom.

''I've got so many text messages from Kai and the other ninja asking where you were. They were pretty worried.'' Skylor told her, pulling her phone out her pocket.

Chicken daughter smiled, reading the messages. ''It's great they care.''

''You look exhausted, come and sit down.''

''Good idea Noodles.'' (Y/n) sighed and sat down, closing her eyes and resting her head on the seat.

''I remember (Y/n)'s dad saying ''See you tomorrow''.'' The little snake realised, getting up onto the table and looking at Skylor worriedly. ''And I've heard of the Time Twin's plans...''

Remo informed Noodle Daughter of their plans, as well of the location of where all the Vermillion were.

''...I nearly didn't escape was it not for the appearance of Wren, who saved me in the nick of time.''

Skylor sipped her coffee which she had made before the little snake started telling her their plans.

''I should get you both home.'' Noodle Daughter said, glancing at the clock. ''I'll also get you some ham sandwiches, I'll be right back.''

Remo was unable to sit still, slithering in circles as he daydreamed about ham sandwiches. When Noodle Daughter came back, he was staring into the distance, slightly drooling.

''Ramen Noodle?'' Skylor asked, trying to gain his attention. The little snake didn't answer, still stuck in his daydreaming. ''Oh Great Remo, King of all delicious Ham Sandwiches, here is your feast, my lord.''

Remo turned his head to face Noodle Daughter, his face lighting up when he saw the ham sandwiches.

''Yay!'' He exclaimed, grabbing a ham sandwich and downing it in one bite. Skylor watched with amusement as he ate, leaving only a single crumb on the plate.

''It's like you have a mini black hole inside your stomach that only wants to devour ham sandwiches...''

''Maybe,'' Remo replied, looking down at the plate.

''Now I have to get you two back home,'' Skylor said, her gaze directed at (Y/n).

Acronix crept into the area where they devised their evil plans, before acting as if he was there the whole time.

Krux walked into the room, a scowl on his face, but that hardly made any difference. It was just another of his seemingly limited facial expressions.

''Brother, we need to talk.''

Younger Seaweed-faced bro flinched from his older twin's tone, as Krux scanned him with his twin golden-brown eyes.

''What is it?'' Acronix asked, a slight nervousness in his voice as he turned to face his brother.

''So, I have a niece.''

Ah heck.

''And?'' The Younger Boomer asked, raising an eyebrow.

''She has time powers,'' Blunck spoke up, walking into the room with Raggmunk.

''You weren't supposed to say that!'' Raggmunk told him.

Before they could engage in a fight, Red Medusa appeared, splitting apart the two, with the red snakes apart of her ''hair'' hissing as a warning to the two idiots.

''Ah, Machia, do you have any news?'' Krux asked.

''Acronix and his daughter were walking the streets of Ninjago, and they seemed to not be enemies.''

Today

Cole, Jay and Zane were admiring the Slow-Mo Time Blade.

''Whoa, amazing.'' Cake Devourer said in awe.

''It is unlike anything I have ever seen.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja added.

''So cool.'' Sonic the Lightning Ninja replied, holding it up.

''I must urge caution, Jay. The Time Blade is a powerful weapon.'' Zane warned.

''Uh, you think I don't know that? Check this.'' Jay said and threw it at a stack of boxes. ''Boom! Ha! Eight bull's eye in a row. Beat that.''

''I did,'' Cole spoke with a smile.

''Oh, really? When?'' Ginja inquired with his arms crossed.

''When I got nine in a row.''

''Okay, yeah, if you wanna count that,'' Jay said, slightly annoyed.

''But watch this,'' Cole replied, throwing the box into the air and using the Time Blade on it.

''Haha! You missed!'' Sonic the Lightning Ninja exclaimed.

''Did I? Slow-moving target. Easy peasy, lemon.'' Cake Devourer said, jumping into the air and slicing the box, landing on his feet. ''And that's how you recycle an empty box.''

''That box was not empty.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja told him, pointing to the ruins of the box.

''Aah!'' Jay cried out, seeing his beloved stuffed toy ruined. ''Mr Cuddlywump...'' He said as he sobbed. ''Is a teddy bear I used to love when I was five, but now he's totally lame and—''

''We know you still sleep with him,'' Cole replied.

''And I don't care who knows it! Mr Cuddlywump...'' The Lightning Ninja muttered, holding his teddy bear close.

''That was a decent amount of sleep.'' (Y/n) murmured as she entered. Remo was wide awake, on her shoulders, alert for any signs of danger.

Jay had his back facing her as he sobbed over his ruined teddybear, catching Tails the Illusion Ninja's attention.

''Hey Jay, do you need your teddy to get stitched back up? I'll see if I can get it fixed.''

The Lightning Ninja gasped and turned to her, a smile on his face. His poor teddybear, Mr Cuddywump had bits of fluff sticking out of the ripped fabric, but it was still fixable.

''Thank you!'' Jay exclaimed, throwing his arms around her, with his stuffed bear still in his clutches, making a bit of the fluff fall onto the ground.

(Y/n) felt her cheeks heat a bit, especially with the others watching the two. ''No problem, Jaybird.''

Pulling out of the hug, she dug her hands into her pockets, while the others smiled at her, making it awkward. She then looked at Zane for help, who nodded and took the Slow-Mo Time Blade from Cole.

''Switching to playful mode.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja said, twirling and throwing the blade in Nya's direction.

''Hey, watch it. I'm working here.'' Nya said, looking up at the nindroid, having been interrupted in her great search for the Samurai X suit.

''Sorry, Nya.'' Zane apologised, grabbing the Time Blade.

''What's with Nya?'' Cake Devourer questioned. ''She's been on her computer since we got back from the desert.''

''Her attempt to locate her stolen Samurai X suit is consuming her.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja answered.

''Ugh. She's as bad as her brother.'' Cole said, and they looked at Kai who was sitting on a couch staring at a Vermillion helmet.

''Ah-ha! I've got a clue.'' Burnt Toast spoke, getting up and running over to a pile of books, picking one up and skimming through it. ''Ah, I haven't got a clue...''

''He's been reading those Ninjago history books all day.'' The Great Cake Devourer told the others.

Morro walked in, holding a stack of more books, and put them on the table. ''These are all the Ninjago history books I could find.'' He told Kai, who took a look at the pile of books.

''Ugh, I don't get those three,'' Jay replied. ''We finally get a victory and they choose to celebrate by dorking out instead of doing something cool?'' He asked, before gasping.

''Let's run straight at each other and see if this will slow us down before we collide.'' And the three laughed and ran off, with (Y/n) following them.

The Master of Wind then walked out of the room, glancing at Burnt Toast before disappearing out of sight.

Morro walked into the room of where Wu lay, sleeping. Misako was cleaning up a tea spill, her back turned to him.

''Wu?'' Weather Boy spoke, trying to see if he was awake. The old tea-obsessed man turned in his sleep, grumbling something about tea.

''He's asleep, perhaps you should come back later,'' Misako told him, standing up and turning to him as she had finished cleaning up the tea spill.

Morro sighed. ''This is important,'' He urged. ''I need answers.''

''If you say so.'' The old woman replied with a soft smile. ''Wu, I have tea.''

The old tea obsessed man opened his eyes immediately. ''Tea? Where?'' He asked, making Misako softly chuckle.

''Please, leave, this is personal,'' Morro told the old woman as politely as possible, gritting his teeth.

Misako nodded, and silently left the room. The Master of Wind then started making tea, deep in thought as the water boiled.

''Morro?'' Wu asked, slightly turning his head to Weather Boy. Morro was silent, before snapping out of his thoughts, turning around with a teacup filled with boiled water on a tray.

''Yes, Wu?''

''What do you need?''

Weather Boy grabbed a box of teabags and pulled out a teabag, placing it in the hot water. When it was done brewing, Morro walked over to Wu to give him the tea.

''Just the way you like it, dad.''

''Thank you... little one.''

The Master of Wind stiffened as the old memories came back, of him being tucked into bed by Wu, him learning how to make tea and accidentally spilling the boiling water on himself-

''Are you alright?'' Wu asked, once again snapping Morro out of his thoughts.

''Yeah, I just got lost in the old memories...'' Morro trailed off, staring at a spot above the old man's head.

Wu sipped from his tea, thinking. ''Good memories.'' He said with a smile.

''That's not what I came to you for, I need answers.''

''Ask away, little one.''

''Do you think the others would forgive me? Especially Lloyd, and I'll say... Kai?'' Weather Boy asked, looking hopeful.

Wu began to give his boomer life advice, which was so wise even I couldn't put it into words while Morro listened intently, sitting down in a seat he had fetched.

''Thank you, dad, for the advice,'' Morro said, getting up from his seat.

The old man smiled once again, remembering the former ghostly warrior as the child he once was, innocent of the world's troubles... and of the Green Ninja prophecy.

''You're welcome.''

Sonic the Lightning Ninja and Cake Devourer stood facing each other, with Frosty the Ice Ninja and Tails the Illusion Ninja on the sides looking on.

''Let's do this. Time Blade ready?'' Jay asked Zane, who readied the Time Blade. When the two were ready, they screamed and ran toward each other, and before they could run into each other Frosty used the Time Blade to slow down time.

''Faster, Jay.'' Cole taunted, his voice slowed down.

''You're so slow, Cole.'' Jay retorted.

''Hey, I told you guys not to mess around with the Time Blade,'' Lloyd spoke, stepping into the room.

''We aren't.'' The Lightning Ninja said, slowly turning his head to him. The bubble then burst, making the three crash into each other.

''I said to hide it someplace safe,'' Greenie replied, taking the blade from Zane's hand.

''And we ignored you,'' Jay told him.

''Besides, we're, um, skill-building.'' Cole reasoned.

''What skill? Room-destroying? This Blade is extremely powerful and highly coveted. Nothing this valuable will be so easily conceded.'' Lloyd said, serious.

''"Nothing this valuable will be so easily conceded." Sounds to me like someone's earned his black belt in being a wet blanket.'' Cole said to Jay.

''What's that supposed to mean?'' Green Machine questioned.

''I believe Cole's intent is to describe you as a blanket which has become wet, not for the purpose of putting out a fire, but rather to extinguish our enjoyment,'' Zane explained.

Lloyd groaned in annoyance.

''Aw, seriously, Lloyd. Lighten up. It's not going anywhere.'' Jay said, taking the Time Blade and throwing it into the air, almost hitting Green Bean on the head, but (Y/n) slowed it to an almost complete stop.

Tails then picked up the Time Blade and handed it to Wu, internally sighing.

''I see that after victory, some of you have chosen to amuse yourselves. I encourage you not to be so careless. Nothing this valuable will be so easily conceded.'' Wu advised them, appearing in the doorway with Morro.

''Uh, sorry, Master Wu.'' Cake Devourer apologised.

''Well put, Master,'' Jay added.

''Well put? I just said that exact same thing!'' Green Bean said in frustration.

''Kai, Nya, join. This is important. You have had a victory. A well-earned one. But Krux, Acronix, and their forces remain a threat.'' Wu told his students. ''Do not allow your confidence to cloud your vigilance. I made that mistake once.''

Burnt Toast looked at the helmet, deep in thought.

''Kai, is something troubling you?'' The Old Tea Obsessed questioned.

''The marking on this helmet. Do you recognize it?'' Kai asked, showing him the inside of the helmet. Wu gasped, slowly backing away. ''You do recognize it. What do you know? Tell me, please.''

''This means...this changes everything,'' Wu said as he walked away from the gathered group of ninja.

Suddenly, there was a crashing noise outside the temple, and a Vermillion Egg crashed through the wall. Luckily, the ninja dodged it quickly.

(Y/n) and Remo looked at the hole the huge projectile had created, while the others looked at the Vermillion Egg.

''What was that?'' Jay asked, with the others staring wide-eyed at it.

''I've run a fourth-level analysis. It appears the snake warriors have returned to retrieve the Blade.'' Zane informed the others once they were outside.

''And me,'' (Y/n) mumbled, with the time blade no longer in her clutches as she had left it inside.

''Really? I could have told you that with a third-level analysis. Or a no-level analysis!'' The Lightning Ninja told him.

''Well, we're all the way up here and they're all the way down there. No chance they could reach us.'' Cole reasoned before another Vermillion Egg was launched, landing behind the group.

''Oh, come on. They built catapults?'' Nya asked irritatedly.

''Whatever. It's just a bunch of snakes.'' Cake Devourer replied.

''Remain on guard, Ninja. There is more to your adversaries than you may think.'' Wu spoke, leaning on Green Bean.

Another one of those weird eggs were launched, once again landing behind the ninja.

''Uh, whatever. It's just a bunch of warriors. I mean, they are not armed, but we are.'' Cole told the others, and they brought out their respective weapons.

''Oh, big mistake! Never bring fists to a nunchuck-sword-scythe-katana-shuriken-manriki-kusari-fight.'' Jay challenged.

''Right, I really need a weapon,'' Morro said, looking at his fists.

Yet again a Vermillion Egg whizzed over their heads, but this time it had weapons.

''Oh, wow. They went from unarmed snakes to fully weaponized Vermillion Warriors really, really fast.''

''Doesn't matter. We can—Wait. That's what they're called? Vermillion Warriors?'' Kai asked, confused.

''Heh, I know, right? So lame. There are so many better names.'' Jay replied.

''Actually, the name is quite clever. You see, vermillion is a shade of red with a slight orange tint, a colour which symbolizes life and eternity. So in that sense, they should actually be commended for—'' Zane explained.

''Guys, focus.'' Lloyd cut in, interrupting the nindroid. ''Everyone ready?''

''I will sit this one out to preserve my strength,'' Wu spoke, sitting down with the Time Blade.

''Good idea, Master. Ninja...'' Green Machine said, and the others joined in, using spinjitzu to easily defeat the Vermillion.

''Great plan, General Machia,'' Blunck told Red Medusa sarcastically.

''Yeah, it took the Ninja, what, three seconds to defeat them. See? This is what happens when you put her in charge.'' Raggmunk told the twins.

''That was merely the first salvo. Next, we bring in the big boy.'' Machia informed them.

''Okay, that was a lot easier than I thought,'' Cole said.

''Awesome work, everyone,'' Lloyd told the team.

''It was too easy, there's something wrong here.'' (Y/n) said, facing the army as she looked down at them.

''Now can you tell me what that marking means?'' Burnt Toast questioned Wu.

''Yes. You must know that...We have another concern.'' The Old Tea Obsessed Man spoke, noticing the Vermillion starting to gather.

''No. I do not like where this is headed.'' Jay replied, seeing the snakes form into a large Vermillion Warrior, which was twice their size. Buffmillion.

Machia laughed, her eyes glowing as she communicated with the Vermillion Warrior. ''The big boy.''

The ninja tried to fight it, but it swung at them, knocking the ninja away. (Y/n) then accidentally landed in Zane's arms, who smiled beneath his mask and gently put her down, and continued on with the fight.

''Hey, Nya, do you remember our old babysitter, Mrs Grumbmiller?'' Kai asked his sister after being knocked away from the giant Vermillion.

''The mean one with the mole on her—'' Nya replied.

''Yeah. Do you remember what we used to do when she made us go to bed early?''

''Of course.'' Tall Glass O' Water said. ''Hey, you! It's not my bedtime! Because I've still got plenty of energy.'' Nya taunted, as Kai placed himself in front of it. ''But it's lights out for you.'' She said as Buffmillion tripped over the Fire Ninja, and fell off the floating island.

''Oh, man! Whatever they paid Mrs Grubmiller wasn't nearly enough!'' Jay exclaimed in amazement.

''Come on. We can use Destiny's Bounty to fly above all this and get a good view of the other's position.''

That was before the Destiny's Bounty was destroyed.

The ninja watched as the flying ship spiralled down, before disappearing out of view.

''Overwhelming force. Do not stop until the mission is complete.'' Machia commanded.

Misako was making tea as normal when she saw a Vermillion Egg headed straight for her. The old woman ducked, as it crashed into the room, smashing the window and breaking apart, a Vermillion Soldier forming quickly to face her.

''Oh, hello,'' Misako said, before throwing a teapot full of boiling water at it, making the Warrior fall apart. ''Tea?''

She then grabbed a rusty frying pan and used it to fight the Vermillion Soldier.

''We have to go on the offensive. They're bringing everything up here, which means we have to go down there and take out their equipment.'' Green Machine told the others, as the Vermillion started to fight the ninja, with more of the Vermillion Eggs being launched.

''But how?'' Jay questioned.

''Like this.'' Lloyd then jumped off the rock, summoning his dragon.

''Lloyd, I really don't think going down there's a good idea,'' Porcupine told him, using his sword to destroy a Pile of Snakes.

Zane used his shurikens to keep two of the Vermillion away. ''Especially on a Dragon. In the past, your fear has caused your Dragon to vanish and—''

''That was a long time ago. I am now a Master—'' Greenie interrupted.

''In training.'' Sonic the Lightning Ninja replied.

''And our Temple is under attack. I don't have time for fear. I'll take care of the ones down below. You guys hold them off up here. And protect the Time Blade, as well as (Y/n).''

Lloyd then flew off, headed towards the Vermillion Army.

''Hmm. You do have to admire his unfounded moxie.'' Jay said, watching the Green Bean.

(Y/n) smiled, watching Lloyd. ''I can tell he's going to be a great leader.''

Machia casually sidestepped the Vermillion blades that had fallen from the sky. ''The Ninja are not the only ones with air power. Sky team, go.''

''Stay calm, Master-in-training. No time for fear.'' Lloyd told himself, watching as the Flying Vermillion appeared. Suddenly, he got scared as a Vermillion screamed in his ear, making his dragon disappear.

''Lloyd. Conjure the Dragon again!'' Cole yelled.

''I've got this.'' Burnt Toast told the others, summoning his dragon and going after Lloyd. ''Faster. Faster. Oh, no. He's too far!''

Cake Devourer caught sight of Samurai X flying towards Lloyd. ''Look. Nya was right. The Vermillion Warriors did steal her Samurai X suit.''

''Oh, so not fair!'' Jay said.

Samurai X then saved the Green Bean, grabbing him before he could hit the ground.

''What is taking so long?'' Krux inquired impatiently.

''A mere setback. A good general changes her strategy to reflect the conditions on the ground. A great one uses every weapon at hand.'' Red Medusa answered.

''Samurai X just saved Lloyd's life,'' Zane spoke.

''Whoo-hoo! All right!'' Jay cheered happily. ''That was...''

'' ...highly illogical.'' Frosty finished.

''So Samurai X is not one of them. Which means...'' Cole realised.

''...Nya must be Samurai X again.'' Kai said.

(Y/n) shook her head slightly to disagree.

''Oh, for sure. She probably faked the whole stealing thing to throw us off.'' Jay replied.

''What are you guys looking at?'' The Water Ninja asked.

''Or not.'' The Lightning Ninja replied, realising his theory was false.

''Hey, you! Suit thief! You owe me an explanation! I have a right to know who you are. Tell me.'' Nya demanded, walking up to Samurai X as they landed on the ground.

Samurai X was silent.

''Hehe. I got this. Who. Are. You!?'' Jay questioned, shouting. ''Huh. How did that not work?''

''I believe being polite is good,'' Morro spoke, looking at the Lightning Ninja.

''Well, Samurai, whoever you are, thank you,'' Lloyd said to Samurai X.

'' "Thank you?" Samurai Whoever-You-Are stole my suit.'' Nya said as the Samurai flew away.

''And saved my life.'' Green Bean said gratefully.

''I get that. And we're all incredibly grateful. Really, it's just...ugh. You stole my suit!'' Tall Glass O' Water yelled.

Then, out of nowhere, a giant metal spiked ball appeared, crashing into the Samurai X mech and making it fall.

''No!'' The ninja screamed in unison, watching it as it plummeted.

''Ninja!'' Tea Obsessed Man cried out, holding the Slow-Mo Time Blade as a Vermillion Warrior approached him.

The Pile O' Snakes then used its weapon to knock the blade out of his hand. It was then slowed down.

''Look what I found,'' Cole said, holding up the Time Blade. Before the warrior could escape, Zane came through with his shurikens and disintegrated it.

While Wu and Kai talked, (Y/n) went over to Zane.

''Is the M.I.A Pixal situation still going on?'' She questioned.

''She hasn't spoken for a while, so yes.''

'Pixal is Samurai X?' Tails the Illusion Ninja asked herself in her head.

''Time is up.'' The Time Twins announced, appearing in what looked to be a flying invention.

''The Hands of Time.''

''Get 'em.'' Cole said as the ninja charged at the Seaweed-faced bros.

''All we need are a few moments, brother,'' Acronix told his bro.

''Indeed.'' Krux agreed, and the Forward Time Blade shone a bit brighter before the Twins disappeared.

They then reappeared in front of Kai and Wu, and kicked the Fire Ninja and the Tea Obsessed Man away from each other.

''Goodbye.'' Younger Seaweed-faced bro said, raising the blade above the old man.

''Master Wu!'' Cole cried out, throwing him the slow-mo blade as the Younger Time Twin tried to strike at him, only for Wu to deflect his attack.

''Lucky old man. But your luck is finally about to run out-'' Acronix said, before the old boomer to use the Time Blade to slow him down, while accidentally knocking the Forward Time Blade to Krux.

''I am too weak to fight. Restraint with this weapon. But careful, Kai.'' Wu told Burnt Toast, giving him the Time Blade.

Kai then went to fight Krux, the two battling it out with their Time Blades. Acronix was then freed and grabbed a sword, but before he could join his brother, he was stopped by Lloyd, Jay, (Y/n) and Morro.

''Not so fast!'' Lloyd said.

''Well, look at this. A child pretending to be a big, brave hero.'' Acronix taunted.

''Watch your mouth Seaweed Face,'' Morro warned. ''Lloyd's better than you'll ever be.''

''Underestimating my fighting skills is a mistake.'' The Green Ninja replied, readying his fists.

''Says the boy who fell off his Dragon.'' Younger Seaweed-faced Bro retorted, before running forward and attacking Green Bean.

The other three joined to defend him, with (Y/n) glaring at her father every time he faced her.

''Zane, Cole, Nya. Lookout.'' Lloyd warned as more Vermillion snakes appeared in the same flight suits.

(Y/n) tried to use her slow-mo power, but it was... a little uncontrollable? Realising this as her power decided to turn itself on and off at random times, thus making it harder to fight. She then resorted to using her weapon.

''See you soon, boy,'' Krux said to Kai, holding up the Forward Time Blade.

''Ice!'' Zane exclaimed, making a path for the Vermillion out of ice headed off the edge, and making them fall off.

Cole leapt into the air, slamming his scythe into the ground, making everyone fall back. The Time Twins then grabbed the Green Bean by his feet and swung him around in a circle, before letting him go.

''Kai!'' Lloyd shouted, and the Fire Ninja threw him the blade. He then leapt into the air, with Krux doing the same, the two Time Blades crisscrossing each other.

''Yield, boy. Ninjago shall be ours.'' Krux said.

''No. I won't give up!'' Green Bean said before the ninja gained both Time Blades. ''Sorry, but it's gonna be pretty hard to control Ninjago when you have absolutely none of the Time Blades,'' Lloyd told them as the ninja cheered. ''Or (Y/n).''

''Do not be blinded by pride, Ninja. Now is the time for the greatest vigilance.'' Wu warned.

(Y/n)'s ears twitched, hearing Red Medusa incoming. She quickly moved out of the way, creating a realistic illusion of herself and Remo in her place.

''Ninja, look out!'' The Tea Obsessed Man cried out before Machia snatched both blades out of the ninja's grip.

''Oh, no,'' Jay said, seeing the Time Blades in Red Medusa's scaly hands.

''Oh, yes,'' Machia replied as she slowed the ninja down. ''As I promised, the Time Blades are yours to keep.''

''Take (Y/n), she may be of use,'' Krux ordered. The Vermillion went forward to grab her, only for her illusion to poof in a cloud of orange dust.

''She's a shapeshifting trickster, a kitsune,'' Acronix said.

''More of a reason to have her on our side.''

(Y/n) kept quiet as she climbed to the top of the roof. She then brought out her leaf and as she was about to shapeshift, a short gust of wind suddenly came about, snatching the leaf from her grip and carrying it down to the group, who looked up at her.

Before she could do anything, Krux grabbed the Forward Time Blade from Machia and fast-forwarded, appearing behind her and ''accidentally'' knocking her off the roof.

Landing on the ground, the Master of Illusion lay on the ground, looking up at the Time Twins, glaring at them defiantly whilst gritting her teeth from the pain.

Two hands grabbed her arms and pulled her up, and (Y/n) struggled, only to find a blade aimed at her throat.

''Move,'' Machia commanded, and the girl did as she was told, while Wu was also taken.

A ladder was lowered from a flying metal ship, and they climbed up. ''Thank you for your hospitality.'' Red Medusa said as it flew away.

''Wu! No! Be strong, Wu. It isn't over.'' Misako called out, running down the steps and throwing the only thing in her hand, a rusted frying pan at the metal ship. Machia easily deflected it with a Time Blade.

The ninja were then freed from the slow-mo bubble.

''All that fighting...just so we could end up losing everything. Master Wu, (Y/n), both Time Blades...'' Kai told the others.

''The Destiny's Bounty and our Temple,'' Cole added.

''They beat us. They won.'' Jay replied.

''Even Samurai X has been destroyed,'' Zane spoke.

''Maybe not,'' Nya said.

''They didn't win. We lost because we got overconfident. We've got to regroup. They're gonna pay.'' Lloyd told the others, kicking a helmet. Kai then picked it up and looked at the marking.

''The marking...this changes everything.'' The Fire Ninja told himself.

There was a roar in the distance, and the ninja saw Morro on his dragon, pursuing the Time Twins.

Then, the metal flying ship disappeared, and the Master of Wind returned to the others, looking very angry.

In fact, he was shaking with anger.

''They will pay.''
