"This is your room," Niall finishes. The house is huge, larger than any house Harry's been in. He guesses that the checks from the tour and the money from when they were a band have helped quite a bit.
The guest room is nearly as large as their living room back home. A king-sized bed takes up about half the room and a television sits mounted to the opposite wall. Two doors lead to rooms Harry assumes are a walk-in closet and private bathroom. Cream colored walls give off the illusion that the room is larger than it is.
"This is your guest room," Sam mutters in disbelief. He sets his duffle back on the bed and walks towards the large window behind the bed. Harry follows him.
The backyard is breath-taking. He knew they had to drive up a mountain to get to Niall's house, but Harry didn't realize how high the house sat until now. Past Niall's property, Harry can see the scenery of greater LA.
"Nice view," Harry says. He draws his attention back towards the lawn as he sees two little girls dart out. The two race off towards a beautiful treehouse perched in a large tree with long tree limbs for climbing. Harry can almost hear their laughter from up here.
"That would be Emma and Eva," Niall explains, pointing to the two girls. Harry watches as the man's eyes light up as he talks about them. "Emma's 9 and Eva's 7, our oldest is Evelyn and she's 16. Four women in the house make things a bit mad, but I wouldn't have it any other way."
Sam's hand finds its way around Harry's hip. "Children sure are a blessing," Sam hums.
"Well, I'll leave you two to unpack. If you need anything I'll be right down the hall and if you get lost don't be afraid to use the intercom," Niall says. He gives them one last smile before exiting the room.
Sam immediately turns to Harry, a huge smile across his face. "I didn't know people liked this actually existed. His house is so big he needs an intercom? It's about the craziest thing I've ever seen. This room too, it's huge," Sam gushes. Harry can't help but smile at Sam's excitement. He can't blame him much, Harry was even more excited when he saw Louis' house for the first time.
"You get used to it after a while," Harry laughs. Sam turns back to him, his brown eyes wide. His hair is ruffled from the cowboy hat he was wearing earlier that now sits on the dresser under the TV.
A wave of nostalgia washes over Harry as he sits down on the large bed. He runs a hand over the fabric in an attempt to ground himself. Sam notices and walks over to Harry. His calloused hands rest on Harry's knees as he stands between Harry's legs.
"You alright over here? I know it's a lot," Sam whispers. His hands find their way to Harry's face. Sam's thumb rubs the side of Harry's cheek calmingly.
"I'll be alright. How're you doing, cowboy," Harry sighs. Sam gives him a half-way smile.
"I'm doing pretty good now. This'll be good for us," Sam promises as he leans down and captures Harry's lips in a kiss. The kiss washes away any negative feelings Harry may have had, as most of Sam's kisses do.
"I love you, darlin'," Sam mumbles against Harry's lips. All at once, Sam pulls away and starts to unzips the large luggage they brought in addition to their duffle bags. "I'll start unpacking, why don't you close your eyes for a bit. You'll feel better."

When Harry wakes up again there's an orange glow around the room and Sam is nowhere in sight. He takes a moment to wipe the sleep from his eyes and check his phone, the time reading a little after seven at night.
Slowly, he pulls himself to his feet and starts downstairs, hoping to find Sam. The house is quiet, but as Harry approaches the back patio. Laughter and loud talking overlaps as he steps closer and closer towards the door.
As Harry steps outside he sees a group of people sat around a fire on lawn chairs. He counts at least five people and three more abandoned chairs. Niall's the first one to spot him and gives him a wide grin. "Look who finally made it."
Harry smiles sheepishly as he finds Sam in the circle, a beer in hand. An empty chair sits next to him, which Harry decides to claim. "Good evening, sleepyhead," Sam whispers as he passes Harry a beer. Harry rolls his eyes but accepts the drink.
"You must be Harry, it's nice to finally meet you. I'm Abby," a woman introduces. The woman sitting next to Niall offers Harry a kind smile. The fire lights up her face and light, blond hair.
"You too," Harry replies. He takes a moment to glance around the rest of the circle. Besides Niall, Abby, and Sam there are two other girls who look 16.
The one sitting next to Abby shares features with the two of them. She shares her father's naturally dark hair and they have the same nose, however, her smile is her mom's. Harry realizes that this must be Evelyn, their oldest daughter.
Harry's heart stops as his eyes fall on the girl next to her. It can't be. The girl, who appears around 16 too, has the same hooded eyes and thin lips. Her eyebrows arch the same way and her jaw is sharp and her cheekbones are high. The only thing that throws Harry off is her eyes which are a light shade of brown.
"That's Evelyn, my daughter, and her best friend," Niall explains. No, no that can't be right.
"I'm Addison, it's nice to meet you," The other girl introduces. She throws a smile Harry's way and his heart stops, he thinks he's dead for a minute because he knows that smile. That's the sunshine smile, the smile that made Harry's day so many times and brought him out of so many dark places. Now, it rests on a new face.
Harry is pulled out of his thoughts by a tight squeeze of his hand. "Oh... uh... nice to meet you Addison," He stammers. The girl gives him an awkward smile as she turns to her friend.
"Dad, can we go swimming," Evelyn asks, gesturing to her and Addison. There's a tension hanging in the air now that wasn't before. Niall gives the two girls a quick nod and they dash off. As soon as they're out of earshot, Niall turns to Harry.
"I'm sorry, Harry, I wasn't thinking," Niall apologizes. Harry can't look up from the red and orange flames.
"She's his daughter, isn't she," Harry asks quietly. The question hangs in the air for a moment before Niall responds.
"Management wouldn't get off their backs about having children. They got married a couple of years after you left, but he refused to have kids. Finally, Simon broke them and they got pregnant with Addison the same time as us. The news loved it," Niall explains hurriedly.
Harry doesn't know why this hurts him as much as it does. The betrayal stings. Louis has a daughter, a kid he didn't even want. "They just have the one," Harry asks.
"They wanted to stop, but Simon wanted one more. She got pregnant with twins, Parker and Johannah but they call her Jo. They're 12," Niall finishes.
Johannah, after their grandmother. She was always sweet to Harry. He wonders how she is and if she's doing well. His mother never mentioned her to Harry, but he assumes they keep in contact. They were friends before Louis and Harry dated after all.
"That's nice.... that they named her Johannah after Jay," Harry mumbles. "How is she?"
Another moment of silence falls over the group before Niall finally responds, "She passed away a little before the twins were born. Leukemia, it was hard on them."
Harry can't stomach it all at once. Three kids, he has three kids now and his mother is gone. Jay died and Harry's mum didn't even tell him. She probably assumes Harry wouldn't want to know, but she was always kind to him. Someone could've at least told Harry about her passing.
"I'm going to go back upstairs. I need a minute," Harry says harshly, already feeling the tears threatening his eyes.
He stands to his feet and rushes back inside. The hallways all start to blend together and hs finds himself lost in the house. Tears stain his cheeks as he mourns his second mother, a woman he didn't realize has been gone for over 12 years. Someone who Harry loved and didn't realize he missed until now. He should've called her more and spoken to her.
Harry feels a hand on his shoulder and is brought into a tight hug. He cries into the person's shoulder, unable to keep his tears from falling anymore as sadness hits him like a tidal wave.
"Let it out, darlin'. It's alright."
