A whole year has gone by, and while the Shade were fast with taking over the world. Not only had the president refused to give up innocent lives, but the other leaders of the world had to finally throw aside their shit to protect what little survivors there were. And with The Shade still learning about Earth, they knew this invasion would eventually have to become a top priority.

A planet of 7 BILLION. Half of it brainwashed by The Shade.

But our faithful heroes had a plan, all they needed to do was get out of the city, Feracon Junction. But of course, being a hero is never easy. You always have a moral obligation to help those in need, and that's what begins our story. Our TRUE story.

It all begins at a deli, where our heroes were rummaging around to try and find food. While they had succeeded in doing so, Macy was taking way longer than needed.

20 minutes later, she came back with a sandwich in her hand. "You know! Never thought I would miss a- What?"

"Really?" Nova asked.

"What?" Macy said as she tilted her head.

"20 minutes of our time gone so you could make a sandwich!?" Nova exclaimed.

"Hey! It would've gone faster if you helped me looked for bread that wasn't or isn't moldy."

Nova groaned. "You couldn't have just eaten the meat? You just HAD to have it with bread?"

"Yeah, duh. I'm not a savage...okay, maybe that mutation made me one, but that's not the point." Macy said with a little sigh. Even after a year, she was still getting used to being some kind of fox.

Talon then spoke up. "We should probably move before we get spotted."

"I agree, Talon." Macy said, having a small smile on her face. While she had flirted before, it was mostly to make people laugh at her bad pick up lines. Never to actually get someone to like her. Now, she was actually trying to get someone to like her.

"Once we get out of the city, form a Rebel Alliance with your planet's survivors and leaders, find The Shade's base of operations, destroy it, and liberate this planet. We can all argue about moldy bread and sandwiches another day."

"Probably the most engaging arguments started happening after you got here. The arguments we did have was over which crazy old man became president." Dean said randomly.

"Still have no clue what a 'president' is, but okay." Talon said with a shrug as they all began walking out. But then Macy caught up with him.

"You know, you're getting good at this hero thing. I bet all the ladies loved your determination~" She flirted, but once again, it didn't work.

Talon just scoffed. "I wish. Even before I became a traitor, I was never much of a 'lady's man'. Yeah, mates for Shades existed, but since we were world conquering warlords, it was never done out of romance but never forced." He looked back at Nova and Macy. "We have SOME standards. But yeah, ever since I betrayed The Shade, I think I'm gonna die happy a single Slasher."

"Hey, if my planet was obsessed with evil and subjugation of other worlds, I'd betray them too." Nova said.

"Really? What about the oath you took when you joined the force?" Macy asked with a tilt of her head before placing a hand on her chest and reciting it with her best imitation of someone. Not Nova. Just someone. "I pledge my allegiance to the order of the Ranked Authorized Private Investigative Defense with indisputable honor and loyalty."

"Well, wouldn't you leave if they had become corrupt?"

"Well, yeah. Heck, I had my fingers crossed during the last part with loyalty." Macy said before Talon's eyes widened and he suddenly tackled them all to the side.

"GET DOWN!!!!" Talon screamed as two beams of blue blasted down where they would've been. The group looked up to see two Shades, one a Smasher and the other a Shooter.

The Smasher hopped down, activating her arm guards as she cracked the ground with her landing and then prepared to fight Talon.

Talon grunted and took out his blades, swinging them around before getting ready to fight. He charged at the Smasher, slicing his blades against her guards, trying to sneak his sharp blades to where she wasn't protecting herself, but to no avail.

The Smasher then pulled back her guarded fist and punched Talon, right in the jaw, and somehow sending him flying into the air.

Macy and Nova quickly took out their weapons just as the Smasher began to charge at them. They began shooting, energy beams and bullets alike, but the Smasher just formed a shield with her guards and blocked them.

Then, from above the building, the Shooter began to aim at Macy with a wide and evil grin.

"Macy!!! Look out!!!" Nova cried.

Macy turned to the side and then switched her Everything Ray to Thermal Blast and fired back at the Shooter, creating a small war of energy between the two.

Meanwhile, in the sky, Talon just sighed as he kept flying upwards. This was going to take a while. But then he suddenly stopped flying and began falling.

Talon smirked and took out his blades, seeing the Shooter attacking Macy. Then, once he got close enough, he STABBED the Shooter's hands, preventing him from blasting any longer and pinning him to the ground.

The Shooter somehow didn't make any sounds of pain and just cackled. "Go ahead, traitor! Finish what you've started! You've already betrayed us all."

Talon REALLY wanted too deep down, but killing wasn't going to lead to any more peace. It would just make him like them again...he swore an oath to Kagin. He wasn't going down that path. Never again. So, he had a different plan.

"Might as well go all the WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!" The Shooter cried as Talon picked him up and threw him across the city, panting as he retracted his blades.

From below, Macy swooned a bit. 'He looks cool when he's edgy~'

"LITTLE HELP HERE, MACE!!!" A voice shouted as it was revealed to be Nova running away from the Smasher.

Macy switched her ray to ice and then shot at the ground, causing the Smasher to slip and fall....at least that was her plan. She caused Nova to slip and fall instead.

"Sorry!!!" Macy called out.

The Smasher cackled before beginning to run over to Nova, but she too slipped on the ice and was about to fall before Talon jumped down and slammed his foot into her face, sending her into the ground as he landed.

The Smasher ripped herself out and then lunged at Talon, grabbing his neck and pinning him to the ground as she raised her arm guard...but then the most embarrassing thing (so far) happened in Talon's life.

Their tails touched. A quick anatomy lesson, a Shade's tail represents their genitalia, or their reproductive organ. In simple terms, when a man and a woman love each other very-

The Smasher screamed and quickly got off him. "OH MY GOD, I AM SO SORRY!!!"

"N-No!! No!! It's fine!! Accidents happen!! R-Right?" Talon asked as his face flushed the purple color.

"Right!! Like...these things happen, y'know?" The Smasher asked.

"Yeah!! And it doesn't have to be awkward!" Talon agreed.

"Of course! Like...whatever, right? So our tails touched." The Smasher said, rubbing her arm as she looked to the side.

Talon nodded, clearing his throat. "So, anyway-"

The Smasher then punched him in the gut, sending him smashing into the wall.

Macy growled and switched her ray to Electro Blast and shocked the street lamp nearby. But this version of the Electro Blast was special...it made whatever near it a magnet.

As the Smasher was about to destroy Talon, a car smashed her into the wall, crushing and killing her.

"Oh, god! That worked a little too well!" Macy said as she put away her blaster and went over, helping Talon to his feet.

"Let's make sure it's dead!!" Nova cried.

"There's a lot of blood there." Talon pointed out. "And 'it' is a 'she'. Trust me. I...know." He cleared his throat. "Finally, we should stop wasting time giving ourselves away! We should get back under the radar while we have the chance!"

"And let them live to kill another day? Screw that!" Nova cried.

"Actually, I agree with Talon." Macy said.

Nova groaned and began mumbling. "Of course you do, you horny-"

"We've wasted enough time and energy. And I do believe you've run out of bullets." Macy pointed out.

Nova cleared her throat, pretending to cough.

Macy took out Dean, sighing with a smile. "Dean, be a dear for us and locate the nearest hide out for us."

"According to Earth's satellites, The Shade have stopped surveillance rounds around Downtown Feracon, near Solar Square. There should be quite a few bases there. But you may have to go into the-"

"Sewers?" They all asked in unison.

"Yes."

And so our heroes continued on their path to saving the-

"Oh, and Dean. You can stop narrating us. It's giving us away." Macy said. "Wait, you're doing it right now!! STOP IT!!!" She exclaimed.

Everyone groaned. "Just ignore him. Let's get moving."

After an half an hour of traveling through the sewers, they made it out to Solar Square.

As the group headed into a hotel, Nova looked around. "Okay. I think we're safe."

"Now that we're safe, I've been meaning to ask. How did you know about those Shade attacking us?" Macy asked.

Talon looked at them. "How did you not? Their sound was as loud as ever!"

"Oh, yeah, I forget sound hurts you." Nova said.

Macy nodded. "Well, apparently the sound Talon was hearing was too high a frequency for us to hear!" She then gasped. "You're sensitive to high pitched sounds like dolphins!! EEEEEEEEE-"

Talon began roaring in pain before he covered his mouth. "Sorry! Oh, jeez! I don't usually mouth like that!"

Macy giggled. "Well, between your mouth and what according to Dean is your 'tail'. I'd say this has been the best Shade Anatomy lesson."

"Yeah...Sorry about that." Talon said.

"Don't be! Kinda thrilled to know what that is in case I..." She blushed and coughed. "Well, let's just say I didn't know what that was until today and am gonna have a very hard time looking at your backside now."

Nova scoffed. "If only he had some actual balls to get a job done."

Talon looked at her and crossed his arms. "What's THAT supposed to mean?" He growled. "No, seriously. I'm still new to Earth anatomy. What does that mean? Are balls a thing around here?"
