We're All Bright Now, What A Sight Now
In the tiny town of Clear Meadows, there is a small house on the edge of the woods, overtaken by ivy and the ghosts haunting the second story. The windows were boarded up, sunbeams visible through the cracks and making the old weather floors stand out. But our story isn't about this old house, no, this is the story of the five teens living in the garage of this house, and how they formed a band. This is a story of friendship and family. If you're a philosopher, maybe it could be one of hope and loss.
If nothing else, this is the story of Magic And The Wild Flowers.

Day 267
Dear Graecie,
We finally finished writing the chorus for Catching Butterflies! It only took a month, but Bek and Soup finally came to an agreement and we finally have a finished song! I bet you would love it (Then again you love all my music)
I also have some news! Today, I was walking home from the pier and I found a flyer for this band competition!...

"Guys!"
Krow shrieked, toppling off its chair as Bek jumped, swinging at whoever just came in through the door. Magic yelped, ducking just as Bek's fist nearly met her head. "Beks, holy shit!" "Sorry!" Bek sighed in relief. "Thought you were a burglar."
"Ah yes, because a burglar would have a key and rob us during our very loud rehearsal." Soup said sarcastically, pulling Krow to its feet. "It could happen!" "Sure, Bek." She rolled her eyes.
Ayngel popped out her headphones, placing them on the music stand on her keyboard. "You seem excited, care to share?" "Guess what I found!" "Magic, we are not adopting a dog, they have rabies, we've talked about this." "They do not, but that's not what I'm talking about."
The brunette held up a flyer, a bright smile on their face. "Look!" "What is that?" Ayngel stepped forward, grabbing it and reading the neon-coloured words emblazoned on the paper. Bek peered over her shoulder. "The Clear Meadows Music Festival?" Ayngel raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, don't tell me you don't know what it is." "My mom used to take me there in the summer." Soup stepped up, joining the other two. "It's in August, right?" "Yep!" "So their advertising in April?" Krow scoffed. "That's weird." "The reason they're doing that is this." Magic pointed to a line at the bottom. Soup squinted. "The Groove Makers?" "It's a music competition." Magic said impatiently, practically bouncing out of their skin. "The winner gets a record contract with Starr Management, one of the biggest music brands out there."
"Magic," Ayngel sighed. "We just finished writing our first song. We don't even have a band name, how do you expect us to enter this?" "Well..." Magic's face fell, but only for a moment. "We have more! We can finish those, and we can come up with a name, and we'll be the best band there!" "Magic, did you even see the entrance fee?" Ayngel turned it around, holding it out for Magic to read. Magic's smile dropped. "Oh." "Yeah." Ayngel patted her on the shoulder. "I'm sorry Magic, I just don't think we can do this."
"I mean..." The two turned to Bek, chewing her nails. "I have a bit saved up from the gas station. If it's alright with Krow," She turned for confirmation, waiting for its nod. "We could combine our money, and we should have enough for the fee." "Bek, that's your money." The angel protested. "It's alright. I wasn't planning on using it for anything, and I can probably cover most of it and still have some leftover." "I don't mind either." Krow finally spoke up. "As for the songs, we do have a ton of drafts." "See!" Magic's excitement returned. "Ayngel, we can do this! All we need is a little practice, and we're golden! We'll be famous!" Bek visibly perked up. "Famous?" "Exactly! This is our chance guys!"
"I'm down." Soup shrugged. "I mean, what else do we have going for us? We have nothing to lose." "That's the spirit!" Magic cheered. "Well, if you guys are in, so am I." Bek straightened up. "This is a big deal! We could finally be the band we always wanted to be!" "You know what, why not?" Krow grinned, showing off its fangs. "Come on, Angie. What'd we got to lose?" "Don't call me that."
Ayngel wilted under her four friends pleading looks, all looking up at her with puppy eyes. Ayngel sighed, burying her head in her hands. When she looked up, she had a small, tired smile. "Alright. Let's do it." "Yes! Thank you thank you thank you-" Magic jumped at her, throwing their arms around her and spinning the two of them around. "Magic, let me go!" "Sorry!"
"Now for the issue at hand," Magic grabbed a notepad and a sparkly purple pen. "We need a name. Who's got ideas?" "I still like The Purple Monarchs..." "Bek we are not doing that we've talked about this." "You suck." "How about Rotten Candy?" Krow swirled a drumstick between its fingers. "Too edgy. Neon Horizons?" Magic offered. Ayngel winced. "That sounds like every 10-year-old's dream, which is not a good thing."
"What about... Magic And The Wild Flowers?" Soup spoke up. The others stared for a moment before Bek perked up. "That's perfect!" "Why is Magic the leader?" Krow complained. "Because she's the singer, isn't the singer always the lead?" "...Yeah fair." It shrugged. "I like it." "Well, I think it's nice. Magic?" Ayngel turned to them. Magic looked up with a beaming smile. "I love it."
"Let's do this!"
