"What the hell Ruby? What part of ease her into it said to scream at her?" Ivory asks.

"Sapphire's gone! We can just move past her! It's not like she's important to the plan!" I scream, crying.

"Ruby, she is the plan!" Rose yells, I lookat her.

"What do you mean she's the plan?"

"If we have Sapphire, Homeworld is less likely to plant their own bombs! She's a rare gem!" I think about it for a moment.

"Is that your plan for a rebellion? Kidnap gems they can't afford to lose? Because they already think they lost me!" I punch the wall with my glove and run off into the woods. "I'll show them! They don't own me!" I  run until the sun hangs low in the sky, and I'm tired.

"Damn... it..." I say between pants. I lean back against a tree and close my eyes.

"You gave quite the chase."

"Gah!" I yelp, ducking down to escape the tip of Ivory's grappling hook. "What the hell, Ivory?" More of the small hooks are shot at me.

"You can't just leave like that." She flicks her hand back and the small cords retract into her fingertips.

"What do you mean?" I glare at her.

"You're the first gem to fuse with a different gem. You're important."

"Rose only wants me because I can fuse with other gems."

"Well, think about it." She sits down next to me.

"New gems means new powers and weapons that Homeworld's never even thought of. If you have two regular Rubies, that's taking one personality, one experience, one gem just bigger." I nod. "But with two personalities? The possibilities are endless!"

"Ivory?" I ask, thinking.

"Yeah?"

"Why did you join the rebellion?" Her eyes go wide for a minute, but she closes them, chuckling.

"That's a story for another day, c'mon, Rose is doing an experiment." We walk back to the tower together, talking about different fusion possibilities.

"Oh, you're back." Rose smiles. "Well, we were going to try some fusion."

"But Rose," Pearl says with concern, "Gems all have different methods of fusion!"

"That's why we won't fuse the normal way." Everyone gasps. "We'll dance." Pearl gasps again.

"Dance? But-"

"I've seen you dance, Pearl." Pearl blushes blue, but smiles.

"So who's going to fuse?" She asks.

"Us." She falls on the floor.

"Me? A Pearl? But Rose, a Pearl shouldn't fuse with a Diamond-"

"I'm not a Diamond. And you're not an ordinary Pearl." Rise takes Pearl's hand, and they dance around the room until their gems glow bright, and they hug together to become...

A twelve foot pink gem!

"Woah." Ivory says.

"So this is fusion..." The gem says. Her voice is soft and calm like Rose's, but also high pitched like Pearl's. She has four bright blue eyes and long blonde hair.

"What's a multigem fusion even called?" I ask.

"Well, she's a Rose Quartz, fused with a Pearl... I'd say she's a Rainbow Quartz." The fusion smiles.

"Rainbow Quartz. I love it."
