Rory's POV

I was getting worried. We were in the same dungeon Cal was in, when he died. Chase's older brother had died in here. I wondered if Solange did this on purpose. If so, then she was even crueler than I thought.

Did she even know?

"Rory Landon." I heard a voice from behind me. I turned to see Solange standing there. The last person I wanted to see. Great. Things were really not going good for me today.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"Oh I just wanted to talk, but I can see you are not in the mood..." she glanced at Chase.

"Like you care. You killed his brother!"

"Oh yes, the young Fey. He put up a good fight. But some stuff aren't worth fighting for."

"What?"

"See Rory, if you had stayed back at EAS, none of this would have happened. Prince Callian and princess Dyani were fools to get involved in a battle that had nothing to do with the Fey."

Solange was basically saying that Cal had died for no reason. That wasn't true. He had helped the characters with the war. We would never have won if it wasn't for him and Dyani.

"That's not true."

"Yes, it is. This is a fight you can't win, Rory. It's pointless."

She turned and walked out of the dungeons. As I watched her leave, something hit my head, and the room spiraled into darkness.

Lena's POV

The plan was going perfect.

I didn't say that out loud, because I didn't want to jinx it, but it was.

Ima and Iggy, of course, both volunteered almost immediately after I told them the plan. The wolves wouldn't attack two kids from the dwarfs tribe. As far as they knew, the dwarfs were still the Solange's allies. At least I hoped.

"Where's Ripper?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah where's the Big Bad Wolf?" Connor joined his brother.

"Quiet!" Kyle hissed. "You're gonna get us caught. And Ripper's probably off doing something else. Why would he be guarding the palace."

They both shrugged.

"Hey, wolves," Ima shouted. "Look here!"

Iggy waved his hands around. An easy target. Those kids had no fear at all.

The wolves took the bait. They walked over to the dwarfs. "Who are you?" I flinched. After fighting those wolves so many times, it still creeped me out that they could talk.

"Come on." We crawled over to the palace doors.

As soon as we walked in, I heard a voice behind me. "Hello, little sorceress."

I turned around, to find General Searcaster, an ugly, evil grin spread on her face.
