Rory's POV

We wandered around there for a while, unsure of what to do.

I didn't get it. I'm sure that's was the way we had went, but no matter how far we walked, the path always seemed to change.

It wasn't until Chase said we should stop and rest that I realized we'd been walking for about two hours. My feat hurt. A lot.

We sat down and I leaned my back against the wall, staring at the ceiling.

"Hey, uh, sorry about what happened back there. It's just, bones." He shivered.

"It's fine, really." It actually was. I'd just been happy to get the hell out of there. When I saw the skeleton my first instinct was to run, but since it'd probably make me look like a coward, I'd stayed Chase had given me a reason to leave.

To be honest, I wasn't really afraid of bones, they were just disgusting. I didn't blame Chase for getting creeped out though.

Eventually, i started to get sleepy. I leaned my head against the wall and closed my eyes, hoping to get some sleep. That's when the dreams began.

I found myself floating over what looked like a meeting. No, it looked more like a gathering out of a fairytale.

A bunch of people sat on chairs, each designed differently. One of them had roses, one had frogs, another was red... yeah definitely something out of a fairytale.

"It's been days and they're not back yet." Said the person sitting on the chair with roses. I guessed she was the boss or something, her chair was bigger than the others too. "If Solange has the book, there's no saying what she could do to disrupt Rory's tale. We need to send a rescue team." She turned to a boy sitting on a chair with beans on it. Immediately I thought of Jack and the Beanstalk.

The boy stood up. "Of course I will go I-"

"No. Not you this time. After the last time Solange manipulated you... someone else must go." She looked around the room at everyone.

Then, a girl with long grey hair stood up. The girl looked about sixteen, but I had a feeling she was older than she looked. "Mildred, if I may suggest, the tale before last, Ben's tale, The Water of Life. The characters of Ever After School did well. If we want to send a rescue party, this might be the best choice."

The other lady, who I assumed was Mildred, sighed. "Rapunzel, we can't send characters out there, the first rescue party to save Rory and Chase - which was not supposed to go - have not come back yet. We can't risk it."

Rapunzel opened her mouth to reply, but before I could hear anything, I felt myself moving again.

This time, I landed on a hard ice floor. I looked around the room. It looked like I was inside a palace of some sort.

There were a bunch of kids standing in the room.

"What happened to Searcarster?" One of the boys asked.

"I don't know she left. She said something about distracting me, and then disappeared." One of the girls replied. I had the strangest feeling I knew her. In fact, I had a feeling I knew them all.

"Well Rory and Chase aren't there. I heard them when we entered, but they're gone."

"Wait what? They're gone?"

"Yeah Solange-"

I couldn't hear the next comment because my dream had decided to take me one more place before I woke up.

Lena's POV

"Wait what? They're gone?"

"Yeah, Solange was talking to them, and when she left we snuck in, but they weren't there anymore." Kyle replied.

"Well we have to get out of here. I don't think the twins can distract the wolves any longer."

And that was the end of that.

We were mostly silent while leaving the Place. We passed a few guards - mostly trolls and ogres - but, call it luck or whatever, we made it out alive.

It took a while to find the twins, but eventually Conner found them crouched low behind a pile of snow a little bit away from the palace.

"What happened to Rory and Chase?" Ima got up, shaking the snow off herself followed by her brother.

"They aren't there. I mean, they were, but they're gone."

We walked a little farther away from Solange's palace and sat down. Then we all shared our stories of what happened.

Apparently, Kyle had heard Solange talking to Rory, but once she left, And they looked through the dungeons, they were all gone.

I told them what had happened with General Searcaster. She had just left after a while saying, "It's done. I don't need to distract you any longer" and disappeared.

We were about to set up camp there, but then I saw something that made my heart freeze.

A few feet away was Ripper slinking along the shadows, a thick blue book in his mouth. And the worst thing was, I recognized the book. It was the book of Fairytales.

And even worse, I realized what had happened to Rory and Chase.

If Solange got her hands on that book, we were in trouble.
