"Longest day, of my life!" C groans as we walk out of the dance studio. I nod in agreement. Not only was I still shaken by the whole Amy situation from this morning, but Helsweel is working us as hard as ever.
"I got this huge new blister, totally sick," I tell C.
"Omg I'm so jealous," C responds in all seriousness.
"Why would you be jealous of that?" Bianca asks, appearing out of literally no where. C and I both jump.
"Where did you come from?" I ask. Bianca just shrugs, taking C and I by the arm.
"So I know everyone has gotten kind of shaken up by recent— events, so I'm having a girls night. No boys allowed! I thought it would be a good way to destress and relax a little," She tells us. I smile.
"You always know just what we need," C says.
"It's kind of a gift," Bianca replies with a dramatic hair flip, "Now c'mon, we have to collect Alya, Scarlett, Jenna, Mindy, and Kit."
"Collect?" C asks hesitantly.
"Yes. Like Pokémon," Bianca states dryly.
"Pokémon?" I ask.
"I've been spending too much time with Jax." Bianca says in exasperation, "Now come on!" We rush out of the studio together and Bianca drags us to the music wing where we find Alya and Scarlett.
"Ok, so Jenna is in the quad with Sasha and Mindy is over in visual arts with George. So C, you take Alya and get Mindy, V, Scarlett and I got Jenna. Good? Break!" Bianca instructs before racing down the halls, practically dragging Scarlett and I behind her.
"So, between you and Bianca. Who's the alpha?" I ask jokingly in between breathes as we chase B down the halls. Scarlett gives me a playful shove and laughs.
"Shut up V!" She says with a dramatic eye roll one would expect from Scarlett the starlet. We finally catch up with Bianca and she already has Jenna in her grasp.
"Good work ladies! Let's go!" She exclaims heading in the direction of the parking lot.
"V!" I hear my name called and instantly recognize the voice. I turn around, a huge smile growing on my face as soon as I see him.
"Beckett!" I exclaim as he embraces me.
"No boys allowed V!" Bianca chastises, crossing her arms, looking like she's about ready to square up.
"Oh leave them alone. Come on, we'll bring the car around," Scarlett says, herding the other two along.
"What was that about?" Beckett asks, shaking his head with a smile.
"B wants to have a girls only night," I explain. Beckett frowns.
"Oh. I was kind of hoping we could do something together. Get this morning off our minds," Beckett says. I purse my lips and grab his hands.
"I know, but I promised B I would go. Can we do something tomorrow? I'm free like, all day," I tell him. Beckett smiles.
"Deal," He says, giving my hands a squeeze. We begin leaning towards each other when the sound of a car horn blares out.
"Hey! Break it up! In the car V!" Bianca calls as they drive up to meet us. With an eye roll I climb into the car and roll down the window as Beckett approaches.
"Be safe, make good choices, I love you," He says as Scarlett begins pulling away. I love you? I freeze. He's never said that before. We've never said that before. I barely throw up a peace sign before Scarlett drives off.
"Oh my dance gods. Did Beckett just tell me he loves me for the first time?" I ask.
"Yes he did," C replies.
"And did I peace sign back?" I ask, almost afraid to here the answer.
"Yes you did," C replies.
