We walk into a wall
Thalia's pov-
The next day we got ready and headed to King's Cross Station. We walked around for a while until I noticed that a lot of Mist seemed to be gathered around a certain wall in between platforms 9 and 10. I pointed it out and we walked over.
I cautiously reached towards the wall but instead of feeling the rough bricks beneath my fingers, they passed right through! I pulled my hand back bewildered.
"There's no wall!" I called back to my friends. "Then what's back there?" Nico asked. I shrugged and without warning, stuck my head inside.
I did not expect what I saw next.
There was another platform with children and their parents milling around, exchanging greetings and good-byes, all dressed in long, dark robes and rolling trolleys with trunks and the occasional bird cage on them. In the center, on the tracks, sat a huge, old-fashioned, scarlet train with words big enough for even me to read 'The Hogwarts Express'. It spewing out smoke that rose up to the high vaulted ceiling of the station. A sign above my head, read, 'Platform 9 3/4'.
I pulled back from the 'wall'. "Guys, this is the right place!" I yelled. They hurried over and one by one, we walked into Platform 9 and 3/4.
When we got inside, we stopped to gawk *cue Annabeth hitting me backside of the head* sorry, look around at the platform. We received a few strange looks, but with us carrying our trunks in our hands and our pets on our shoulders instead of in cages, that was to be expected. We saw a family of red heads loading their trunks into the train and among them we spotted Hermione, Fred, George (we could now tell which was which), Ron and Harry. We hurried over.
"Hey Annie, Thals" Mione greeted us. "Hello Mione," we grinned back. "Hello dears, I'm Molly Weasley, what are your names?" A plump, kind-looking woman asked. "I'm Percy Jackson," Percy said, sticking out his hand. Molly shook it and asked, "American, are we?" "Yes, ma'am," Annabeth replied holding out her hand as well, "I'm Annabeth Chase." After Nico and I were introduced, we headed over to Hermione who was scolding Fred and George for swamping an entire train compartment.
"You weren't much better when you were ten, Mione," Annabeth commented, "If I remember correctly, you and the Stolls got in trouble for flooding the Ares cabin on our second day at camp." Hermione shot here a shut up, I'm trying to intimidate them glare but it was too late. The Weasley twin were already staring at her slack-jawed. "You mean Hermione I-don't-care-if-die-but-if-I-get-expelled-I-will-actually-kill-all-of-you-and-then-myself Granger pulled pranks?! Actual pranks?" Fred asked incredulously. "Duh, it was like, her main goal in life to steal Chiron's portable stereo and make it play Baby Shark all day." I responded "What's a portable stereo?" George asked. I peered at him and then realised that he had grown up in the magic world and didn't have much knowledge of most things mortal-sorry, muggle.
"It's a box that plays music." I said. They nodded their heads. Suddenly, the train whistle blew startlingly loud, making us jump in shock. "If they want to make us deaf, don't they have a spell for that?" Nico asked, wincing. Bianca, who had been sleeping on his shoulder was now clinging to his head with almost superkitty strength.
They all boarded the train, choosing the least packed compartment to journey in. Somewhere in the middle, Draco popped in to say hi. "Hey R- Draco," Nico said, visibly brightening. "Malfoy, what do you think you're doing in our cabin?" Harry snarled, standing up. "Talking to my friends, Potter, same as you," he drawled, looking rather bored (the 'Potter' sounded more like 'Pottah' in my opinion). "Friends," the Chosen One scoffed, "what friends? All you had were your little minions who only once stuck with you because the were scared of your daddy, though even they seem to have left you and your pathetic family." Draco sneered and the others looked murderous with the exception of Ron who was stuck between telling Harry he had gone too far and loyalty for his best friend but before anyone could react, I stood up and stalked over to the arguing pair. I leaned close to Harry's face, close enough for him to feel uncomfortable though by his expression he seemed to think he was hiding it pretty well (news flash, he wasn't). "I don't take well to people insulting my friends, Potter. Draco here is our friend and he's a much better person than you. Now if you don't want to get thrown out of a train with multiple stab wounds and a broken nose, I suggest you get out of this cabin right now." I said, each word dripping with hate and menace. Harry withered under my glare but let out a feeble, "You can't hurt me, I'm a hero." I punched him in the face. He stumbled out of the compartment clutching his bloody nose. "Hero, my podex," I grumbled, slidding the door shut.
I looked back at the others. Percy looked proud, Annabeth was smirking, Hermione grinning and Ron looking like he wanted to go after Harry but was mad at him at the same time. "Thank you, Thalia," Draco said gratefully. "No problem," I grinned, quoting probably Clarisse at some point, "what are friends for if not punching your enemies in the face."
...yeah, pls don't kill me for taking so long? *curls up into fetal position* (my autocorrect has still not accepted that fetal is a word). Anyway, question of the chapter:
