After a great war between good and evil where Maleficent learned the true meaning of love and acceptance, she began to manage the entire Kingdom of Moors together with Aurora. Together, side by side, they rule Moors with wisdom and happiness also kindness for everyone who seeks a place for acceptance and
happiness as they truly are. Maleficent never thought that Aurora would grow into a gorgeous Princess who soon became Queen of the Moors until that day when a Prince from far away land named Philip came and proposed to her to be hiswife under the crystal waterfall. At first, Maleficent didn't want to give up Aurora to Philip, but after some time and understanding what Aurora told her, she finally agreed and decided to let Aurora write her own love story.

From afar, Maleficent often looked at Aurora and Philip fell to each other's love as if no one on earth dared to separate them. She felt jealous but at the same time happy that she found her true love and could write her own love story. She felt hurt when remembered that her love with Stephen didn't work the way she predicted, but sometimes heartbroken will give you a lesson, so was Maleficent that time.

Later that afternoon, she decided to go with Diaval. A crow that she saves from a local farmer who wishes to kill him before her wings return, Maleficent asks Diaval to be her wings and so the two of them become Inseparable. When there's Maleficent, Diaval will fly not far from her or around her to look after his Mistress. Maleficent trusts Diaval very much and lets Diaval manage every single thing in the Moors with Aurora. Neither Diaval nor Maleficent looks happy when seeing Aurora find her true love with a perfect boy who loves her as who she is.

"You're not gonna leave right, Fairy Godmother?" Asked Aurora while holding Maleficent's hand and squeezing it gently.

Maleficent brushed Aurora's face gently and smiled at her, "No, I won't. I'll come back neither tonight nor tomorrow afternoon. Diaval will join me so you can have quality time with Philip. Now, Philip will you guard my daughter?!" Said Maleficent while looking at Prince Philip seriously.

"Yes, your Grace. I will" Replied Prince Philip while bowing his head and Maleficent smiled at both of them.

"Take care, don't get hurt, and don't let me help you find your wings again" Tease Aurora and Maleficent giggled.

"Alright. I won't, Beasty!"

Prince Philip and Aurora see Maleficent fly away followed by Diaval behind her. Both of them fly far away from Moors into an unknown place and seek what Maleficent feels deep inside her heart, a feeling that has disturbed her since Aurora's marriage.

She passed the great waterfall, the grand mountain, and the misty swamp that usually makes her afraid when she's younger. She commands the soil to cover the swamp so no animals will trapped there. Deep inside, she's a good fairy but once her heart was broken, she turned into a wicked winged fairy, that was ready to curse anyone in her way.

She arrived by the clear pond filled with lotus and frogs. A chill and calm vibes surround the pond and make her sigh and try to find peace inside her thoughts that are so noisy. Diaval sat beside her and looked worried at her.

"Is everything alright, Mistress?" He said while looking at Maleficent.

"No, have you ever fallen in love before... Before you become a human like now?" She replied and Diaval nodded.

"Yes, I have. But it's to other birds since I'm a crow. Why?"

Maleficent just silenced hearing his answer and sighed deeply like she was hopeless with everything that happened.

After a long silence between them, they enjoy the calm and peace of the lotus pond until the wind blows and they realize how long they sat there without talking to each other.

"You know... Love can come unexpectedly, not like you predicted before" Diaval said breaking the silence between them and Maleficent looked at him demanding more words from him.

"Go on, I'm listening" She replied.

"As I said, love can come unexpectedly and you can predict it came from who what, or when. It's suddenly and when it reaches your heart, you'll know it will warm in your heart" He continued and Maleficent just giggled.

"What nonsense. There's no such thing as love and romance, Diaval"

"If there's no such thing, then what do you call your love for Aurora that broke the curse? How about Philip who loves Aurora so much?" Diaval said and made Maleficent's smile fade into a thin wicked smile that was long gone.

"That's a coincidence"

"There's no such thing as coincidence in this world, Mistress. Everything happens for a reason. The way you saved me from that farmer, the way you broke the curse, the way you killed Stephen, and the way you see Aurora in love with Philip"

Both of them are laughing and realize that what Diaval said is true. She tried to convince herself that love is surely mysterious yet so powerful and reckless at the same time. She rose and walked away from the pond.

"Hey! Wait!" Said Diaval while running chasing her.

"Faster then!" Replied Maleficent with a giggle.

They arrived at the great river and when they arrived, they saw a female deer separate from the male on the other side. The River flow is too strong so the female deer can't get across. The male deer screams in animal language while the female seems sad and can't be together with the male.

"Poor thing," Said Maleficent, and with her power, she turned Diaval into a dragon and commanded him to take the female deer to the other side so they could unite again.

Diaval did not waste any time and flew while taking the female deer. From across the river, Maleficent saw the deer once they united and they bowed their head to Diaval as a sign of their thanks. Diaval returned to Maleficent and changed his form into a human.

"See? That's how love works, you realize it now" Said Diaval, and Maleficent just nodded slowly.

Maleficent felt something that she never felt before. Something so different and strange when she's with Diaval. Something that tickled her sense and heart. What kind of feeling that she feel?

"Do you believe in true love?" Asked Maleficent and Diaval nodded.

"Of course I do. Even though I've fallen in love with someone, I do not dare to tell my feelings and wish to wait until the perfect time"

"You love someone? Who?"

"Someone that is so special for me and I care so much for her," He said while looking above the blue sky.

They continue their journey and by nightfall, Maleficent seems desperate and can't find her answer and decides to take a rest by the sunflower glade. Both of them enjoyed the evening sky and seeing the fireflies come out and fly all over the sky.

"It's beautiful," said Diaval while touching one of the fireflies.

"It is..." Replied Diaval and he tried to gather some flowers near him and he kneeled before Maleficent.

"What are you-"

"I never had a chance to gather all my bravery to confess my love to you... I have a serious feeling for you" Said Diaval while kneeling and presenting her with a bunch of wild flowers and made Maleficent giggle.

"You... You didn't mean it, right?"

"How can? I'm serious"

"Since when did you fall in love with me?"

"Since the day you asked me to be your wings and since I know you're a good fairy instead of the fearsome one that wishes to kill people, you are just lonely and still driven by your heartbreak because of Stephen"

Maleficent stood still and couldn't say or even think what she should say. She can tell that Diaval said the truth and did not lie about his words and she also felt the same as him but she can't make sure it is love or something else.

"I can't say anything, this is all so sudden," Said Maleficent and she flew away from Diaval.

Diaval sighed and shook his head, without Maleficent's magic, he remained human and couldn't change into a crow and chase her. He decided to walk following her trail. Along the way, he was just thinking about how he said his sorry to Maleficent and didn't mean any kind of thing that would remind her of her past.

After a long walk, he arrived by the lotus pond and he found Maleficent crying beneath the tree. Diaval hurried to run and comfort her.

"I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry I didn't mean to remind you of Stephen" Said Diaval while hugging Maleficent, instead of pushing him away, Maleficent took his hug deeper.

"It's not you, it's me. I'm not ready for this kind of thing but I realize that soon or later love will find its way back to me. Stephen indeed makes me disbelieve in true love anymore, but once you told me this afternoon I believe that what you said is true" Replied Maleficent while crying and adjusting her breath.

Diaval can't say anything while hearing her words. He knew how Stephen broke her heart deeply and made her almost heartless like this. He waited until Maleficent calmed took her hand and looked into her eyes.

"Let me share this whole new world with you," Diaval said and Maleficent smiled hearing those words from him.
