It had been eight hours since Namjoon had visited the crime scene. His friends had succeeded in keeping his mind away from the earlier events but once he was alone in his apartment, he couldn't stop himself from thinking about it. He was very confused as to why only he was able to smell the roses at the crime scene. Him experiencing dizziness and various other emotions was also a big mystery.

"Namjoon-ah, you're thinking about it again, right?" Hoseok asked as he joined Namjoon in the living room after taking a shower. Namjoon sighed and nodded his head.

"Tell me: what are you thinking about?" Hoseok asked. Namjoon contemplated whether he should tell Hoseok or not.

"It's okay if you don't want to tell me. I won't pressure you, but just know that I and also the others are here for you. You can share anything you want with us and you know that we won't judge you," Hoseok continued. Namjoon hummed.

"I know, hyung. Thank you," he said gratefully and Hoseok nodded.

"Come on, let's sleep," Hoseok said. Both omegas went towards Namjoon's room.

"You should've stayed the night with Jin-hyung and Yoongi-hyung," Namjoon said as Hoseok wrapped his arms around him.

"I know but I wanted to stay in my own apartment. Unless you want to kick your roommate out."

"No,hyung. You know I won't ever do that." The Omegas giggled and then fell silent as sleep enveloped them.

When Namjoon woke up, it was still dark in the room. He looked towards the noise that woke him up and found it was his phone. Hoseok moved a bit beside him and groaned.

"Joon-ah, pick up your phone," he muttered, his voice laced with tiredness.

Namjoon sat up and picked up his phone from the bedside table. He looked at the time and saw 03:00 written there. He then looked at the caller ID and instantly felt more awake when he read Chief Bang's name.

"Hello, Chief," Namjoon said after picking up the call.

"Why weren't you answering your phone? Hurry up and come to the station. I have already called the others and they are on their way," he said angrily. Before Namjoon could say anything, the call ended. He looked beside him at Hoseok, who was looking up at him with a confused expression.

"Why do you smell like that? What is it?" Hoseok asked.

"Chief Bang called us to the station. We should hurry up, he sounded furious," Namjoon said, getting out of bed and taking out his ironed police uniform from the wardrobe.

"Angry? Why? And did he only call us?" Hoseok asked,also getting out of bed and making his way towards the door to go to his own room.

"I don't know why he's angry and he said he already called the others. Let's meet at the door in five." He then left for the washroom as Hoseok exited Namjoon's bedroom and rushed to his own to get ready.

When they arrived at the station, a police officer took their car at the entrance and they rushed inside the precinct. They were the last ones to arrive so when they entered, Chief Bang quickly ordered them to take the van and go to a crime scene. All of them were confused as to why they were called to go to a crime scene when the officers on the night shift were present.

"Get in the van. I'll tell you the details in the van," Officer Wang said. The six men nodded and rushed to enter the van and drive towards the location of the crime scene.

"We got a call from a lady at 02:30. She said that she found an Alpha murdered in the library of Seoul National University," Officer Wang said. There were six gasps heard in the van.

"But what does that have to do with us?" Taehyung asked.

"Chief thinks that the murder is related to the murders you're investigating. I think it made sense because the killer has been quiet for four days. His last kill was on the 14th."

"Did she say who the Alpha was?" Namjoon asked and just as he finished, they pulled up in front of the library, where a police car and an ambulance were already present. Officer Wang turned the engine off and locked the car.

"Before you get out..." Wang stopped and looked at Namjoon. He put a hand on his shoulder and sighed. "I'm sorry, Officer Kim. Please maintain your emotions."

The members looked at Wang in confusion but when they heard the car door unlock, they rushed out of the van and went towards the dead body. There were many students crowding the door of the library and the officers were keeping them away from the crime scene. There were some officers taping the entrances of the library with yellow tape.

The members could hear the shutter sound of cameras going off as they took photos of the crime scene. As they went further inside the library, they were met with a few reporters broadcasting the crime scene. They stood a few meters away from the scene so that they would not spoil any evidence.

As Namjoon and his team walked nearer to the body, some officers moved away, giving way to them. That was when Namjoon started smelling the scent of roses again. He frowned and looked around for a rose plant in the library but as he looked around, his gaze fell on the body. He heard a gasp which he was certain was from himself.

"Uncle Kyungho," he let out and the members turned towards him in shock.

"This is Uncle Kyungho?" Hoseok asked and Namjoon nodded. His eyes flooded with tears as he stared at his favorite uncle laying in a pool of blood. He had a knife sticking out his stomach and a lipstick mark on his cheek. Namjoon lost his balance and before he could fall to his knees, Yoongi quickly grabbed him.

"Grab a hold of yourself, Joon. There are people here. You can't lose your composure like this here," Yoongi said in his ear as the members all surrounded them, keeping them out of view.

Namjoon let out a few tears and then sniffled.

"Hyung, it's Uncle Kyungho," Namjoon whimpered and Yoongi sighed. He hugged Namjoon and patted his head.

"I know, Joon-ah. Compose yourself. Taehyungie can take you back to the van while we investigate here, okay?" Yoongi said and when Jin looked at him questioningly, Yoongi just nodded his head. Namjoon sniffled and wiped his tears. Taehyung then grabbed his shoulder and accompanied him to the van, leaving the members behind.

"It's for the best," Yoongi said and the others hummed. They then took out their white gloves and pulled them over their hands.

"Officers, please step back. We will take it from here. Please tell the crowd outside and the reporters to leave the crime scene so that there is no spoiling of any type of evidence," Yoongi announced to the officers. The officers gave him a firm nod and then scurried off to keep the reporters and the crowd of students away.

"Okay boys, when our leader isn't here, I'll be the substitute!" Jin announced. The boys nodded without questioning Jin.

"Let's start with taking notes of the surroundings!" Jin instructed and the boys took out their notebooks and started taking notes.

After they were done investigating the body, they gave the signal for the paramedics to take the body away. When Namjoon saw the body getting loaded in the ambulance, he nodded at Taehyung to assure him that he was fine. Both of them exited the van and went towards the crime scene. Namjoon and Taehyung snapped the white gloves over their hands and then started searching around the premises for anything suspicious.

Namjoon went closer to the white taped ground indicating the position the dead body was found in. Again, his red string started becoming bright. As he grew closer, for the second time that day, he could smell the roses in the air. Namjoon turned around and saw the librarian being questioned by Yoongi and Jungkook. He walked towards them.

"--and then I saw him lying there like that," the librarian finished answering their question. Yoongi and Jungkook noticed him and asked him if he wanted to ask a question.

"Yes. I wanted to ask if you have any plants around here?" he asked and the librarian nodded.

"Yes. There are indoor plants scattered around the corners of the library and some plants on the reading desk," she answered.

"Do you have any rose plants?" He asked then. Yoongi and Jungkook looked at him questioningly.

"No. Rose plants need sun and everything. We have plants which need a limited amount of sun and water so that we can take care of them easily," she replied.
"Okay, thank you," Namjoon said and gave her a tight lipped smile.

"Why did you ask her about roses, Joon?" Yoongi asked as they all piled into the police van.

"What? Roses? Again?" Hoseok asked and Yoongi looked at him in confusion.

"Yes. I smelled roses again at the crime scene," Namjoon said.

"Maybe someone wore a rose scented perfume?" Jungkook suggested and Namjoon shook his head.

"No, Kook-ah, it was the killer. I smelled the same scent at the previous scene too," Namjoon replied.

"It might be correct but we weren't able to smell any type of rose scent at the scene," Jin said and the members all nodded their heads.

"Unless..." Hoseok said and then looked at Namjoon before shaking his head and smiling. "Nah... ignore me."

"Tell us," Jin urged Hoseok to speak but he only shook his head.

"It's not important. Ignore it," he said and the others dropped the subject as they reached the station. They all came out of the van and Jungkook pointed out that the sky was turning light blue. They sighed at the prospect of a very long day.

When they entered the precinct, they were immediately told to go to the Chief's office. They released a collective sigh as they entered the elevator.

"Joon-ah, don't take his anger personally please," Jin instructed.

"It is my fault, hyung. I should have been more vigilant. It's a murderer on the loose. People are scared to even go out," Namjoon replied.

"It is not your fault that we are not able to catch the killer, we will catch him when the time is right. Now, please don't fret a lot about any insult that he throws your way, he is just scared that he will be the next one on the killer's death list," Taehyung said and everyone looked at him with a displeased look.
