Winds of Change - Scorpions

Alice watched Metallicar as she and Dean walked into the rec room, a grin on her face. She hazarded a glance to Optimus, who had noticed as well.

"Metallicar. Is all well?" She nodded and looked around.

"Is opi in here?" Ironhide leaned around the corner of a wall and looked at her curiously.

"What's wrong sparklet?" She smiled and hesitated, Dean squeezing her servo reassuringly.

"I..." She glanced back as Ratchet, Bluestreak and Smokescreen entered. The first of the trio gave her a nod and she turned back. "I'm sparked."

Ironhide slipped on nothing and fell backwards, narrowly avoiding the humans as he slammed into the ground. "What?"

"Ah can' believe it." Jazz grinned. "There gonna be a sparklin' runnin' round!" He hugged Metallicar as she took her full height once more. She chuckled and hugged the mech in return. Ironhide merely growled and glared at Dean.

"You sparked my daughter?"

"And this is my cue to run!" He took off, hiding behind Sam. Ironhide stood, still glaring at him as Sam shook his head.

"Careful Jazz. That's my neice or nephew in there." He joked. Ironhide looked up at Metallicar, who couldn't keep the smile of her face. He sighed and pulled her into a hug as well. Sam took note how unusually silent Dean was. "Dean?"

"You're gonna spoil her, aren't you?" He smirked as Sam nodded. His gaze then landed on Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, who were both hugging Metallicar. "What if I'm not a good dad, Sam?"

"You kidding Dean? You'll be the best." This made Dean smile as he walked over to Metallicar. Optimus joined them and placed his servo on Metallicar's shoulder.

"I feared that the destruction of the All Spark would mean that there would be no more sparklings." He smiled down at her and pulled her into a small side hug. "You do realize this means you will not be allowed to aid Sam and Dean in their hunting until the sparkling is born, correct?" This made her pout and look to Dean."

"Then who's going to help us?" Stargazer stepped up at Sam's inquiry.

"I volunteer. After all. I've taken Juliet on plenty of hunts."

"Well either way I'm sticking as close to Baby as I can when we're not hunting." Dean pointed out.

"I figured as much." Optimus smirked. "You hardly left her side before."

"What do you expect? I don't want Baby hurt. Especially not now." He smiled up at her and she returned it.

And for a moment, it seemed like nothing could ever go wrong.

-

"Alice. I wish to ask you something." The woman looked up at Optimus and smiled.

"Shoot." He chewed his words over and then looked down at her.

"Will you explain to me the exact nature of these... hunts?" She grinned wickedly and he felt a twinge of fear.

"Better yet, how about I show you? My dad can give us a hunt, I'll get the weapons from my car and we'll teach you the way I was taught."

"Which is?"

"Experience."

-

Crosshairs watched Ironhide as he glared at Dean. He had been chasing Dean for an hour, trying to get his servos on him. Metallicar and Juliet had been laughing at his misfortune, the former sipping lightly at her cube of energon. Now that Crosshairs looked she seemed... Almost brighter. Like the news of this new life had changed everything she had believed in.

Then again, none of them figured there would ever be any more sparklings. And he knew for a fact that Metallicar would have put all others before her, even knowing that there would be a chance that she'd never be able to have one of her own.

Chromia was currently sitting by her eldest creation and giving her tips she had picked up while carrying each of them. Which quickly progressed into embarrassing sparkling stories that Dean quickly rushed over and sat in for.

Metallicar's face was a vibrant blue by the end of the stories and the two human WInchesters were laughing so hard they were red in their faces. Crosshairs himself was chuckling.

"Now let me tell you about Crosshairs."

"Okay! That's enough danni. I'm sure they've heard enough."

"No danni. I think you should continue." Crosshairs growled and looked like he was going to pounce. Metallicar stood in a defensive position and growled.

"Woah. No tackling Metallicar. She has to take it easy. And Dean, I feel sorry for you?"

"Why?" He asked, watching Metallicar.

"Because you're mate's gonna be both protective and possesive during this time." Ironhide spote, sitting by Chromia. "It'll be pit."

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Ironhide stiffened before smiling sweetly at Chromia. She didn't buy it and only shot him a light glare.

"Nothing sweetspark. Only that you were terrifying when you were with spark."

"Uh-huh. Is that why you because Optimus' guard after I was sparked with Crosshairs?"

"Yes. I mean no! Not at all! Optimus needed my help!"

"Oh really? I'm pretty sure Optimus could take care of himself." Aforementioned mech had just walked in and was slowly backing out, making sure Alice made no noise. "Optimus?"

"Slag." He grumbled and walked over to Chromia. "Yes?"

"Did you absolutely need Ironhide before the war started?"

"It was at Alpha Trion's insistence that I have someone to watch my back. Ironhide was an old, and trusted friend."

"But you could have done without him." He sighed.

"Chromia, with all due respect, I am not going near that part of the conversation with a 'ten foot pole' as the humans say." Metallicar burst out laughing, unaware of her mother's glare.

"And how about you Metallicar?" She stood and looked to the door.

"Oh, I think Ratchet's calling me in for a checkup."

"I'm over here Metallicar." They all turned to see the amused medibot chatting with Rung.

"Shit." She hung her head and turned to Chromia. "Opi is afraid of you!" With that she scooped up Juliet and Dean before running across the room.

"Apparently you are too Baby." She shot Dean a glare and he fell back laughing.

-

"So what did you guys find on the Nemesis?" Juliet asked, sipping at a glass of a red liquid. Granted the glass was painted but no one had to guess what was inside.

"Not much. Jason's there. And Megatron has a sparkling." This pequed her interest.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah. Real nutball, though she's nothing like her father. She didn't seem to like seeing me get tortured. Although none of the others minded. Not even the other human. Pit, she was doing most of the torturing. Funny thing, she looked familiar, can't place it though. Then again it could have been someone on base looks like her, not sure, my optics aren't exactly focusing right. Which reminds me I should go see Ratchet later." Everyone looked to Bluestreak as he spoke, his words flying by at a mile a minute.

"Okay. He talks almost as fast as Blurr." Metallicar joked, making Optimus chuckle.

"No one will ever best Blurr."

"So tell me about this other human." Juliet spoke, lifting the glass to her lips once more.

"Megatron yelled at her and Shockwave. Called her something like Nexus." Metallicar shrugged. "Red hair, green eyes." They all turned at the sound of glass shattering. Juliet was staring at them all in shock, not seeming phased by the glass shards around her feet. Or the blood that covered them.

"Juliet?" Chromia moved swiftly and grabbed Juliet, who looked ready to fall.

"N-Nexus?" She whimpered in a small voice.

"Juliet, what's wrong?" Metallicar knelt in front of them and Juliet looked up at her.

"Nexus is my mother..."

-

Alice sat on the bed in the back of Optimus' alt-mode, she was hesitantly typing out a number before hitting send. The person on the other end picked up on the third ring. "Hello dad? Yes, it's Alice. I know, I should. Listen. My friend and I are stopping by here in about five minutes. No don't worry, he's a hunter. Well, for today anyways." She hesitated. "He has more important things to do. Yeah, remember that war I told you I couldn't talk about? Uh-huh, he's part of it. Alright, see you in a few, bye." With that she hung up and sighed.

::Is something wrong Alice?::

"No. I just need to see what he's gonna put us up against. I'm hoping it's not a vengeful spirit but I'm also hoping it's not a vampire." She turned, hanging her head off the bed and watching the steering wheel turn on it's own.

"I do not think it is wise to lay like that." She jumped suddenly, seeing Optimus' holoform hovering over her. Something she hadn't seen since that party before he...

She felt tears prick her eyes as the realization hit once more. She could have lost him for good. Could have been forced to live life without feeling the light kiss on her forehead that he gave her every morning. She would never have known the feeling of being whole that came from him wrapping his arms around her and gently rocking her to sleep.

Optimus must have seen her tears because in the next moment he was hugging her tight, pressing his lips to her forehead. "It is alright Alice." He whispered, knowing full well why she was crying. This wasn't the first time, and it definitely wouldn't be the last. "I am here. I always will be."

She looked up at him and he kissed her, holding her close as she calmed. When they parted to allow her to breath he rest his forehead on hers, placing her palm to his chest.

"You feel my spark. Let it reassure you that I am here. I am alive." She nodded and he sat up. "Alice. We have arrived at your father's home." She sat up as the semi pulled to a stop, Bobby walking out at the sight of it.

"Idjit must not realize that ain't much of a huntin' vehicle." Alice chuckled and climbed free, Optimus sighing as he followed. "Alice. What is this?"

"Need-to-now, sorry dad." He sighed and looked to Optimus as he walked up behind Alice.

"This your personal vehicle?"

"Yes, sir." Optimus nodded. Bobby looked him over and crossed his arms.

"Mind helpin' me with something? Then I'll get you your hunt." He then paused and looked at him. "What's your name."

"Optimus P-" Alice elbowed him and he coughed. "Orion Pax." Bobby narrowed his eyes.

"You don't sound so sure there." Alice saw him with his fingers on a gun.

"Like I said." She stepped in front of Optimus and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "Need-to-know." He frowned and glared at Optimus.

"So is hunting. Now you can tell me or your friend can get lost." Optimus hesitated, looking down at Alice. She sighed and nodded.

"Fine. But no freaking out!" She stepped away as Optimus' holoform vanished. Blue sparks danced along Alice's skin as she backed away, stepping where it had been. "Dad, Meet Optimus Prime." She gestured to the semi as it split in several different places. Bobby jumped back, falling on his ass as he tried to move back. Alice remained where she was even as Optimus put his hand down beside her to stabalize himself.

Once the transformation was complete he looked down at Bobby, bowing his head. "Bobby Singer. It is an honor to be able to meet you face to face."

"You're like Baby! Only taller. A lot taller!" Alice blinked in shock.

"You know what Metallicar is?"

"Yeah. She told John and I a long time ago." Alice deadpanned.

"I thought Metallicar and Hijack were- Hijack! Jack Pax!" He slapped himself in the forehead.

"Hijack is my creation. He has only recently come back to us." Bobby looked shocked.

"He's alive?" Optimus nodded and Bobby relaxed. "Good. He's a good kid. And a damn good hunter. He and Baby knew this business almost as well as John and I. And that's saying something. Well, come on, I'll show you what I need you to do while I go get your hunt." Optimus transformed, his holoform appearing by a still stunned Alice.

"You are going to capture flies." She shut her mouth and rolled her eyes, running up and leaping on Optimus' back. "Hey!" He laughed. Alice merely grinned as they followed her father.

-

Bumblebee was bored. No, that didn't even begin to cover it. He had been sitting outside of Sam Witwicky's college for an hour and still had yet to see him. He had tried contacting Metallicar but her comms were off. Hijack was off on what he called a 'hunt' and Optimus wasn't on base. He had absolutely nothing to do.

Before he could take a drive a 1969 Dodge Charger painted in gunmetal grey, red and blue pulled up beside him, the engine roaring.

"Well if it ain't - General Lee - by himself." The other vehicle chuckled and the door hit Bee in the side. "Hi - Jack!"

::What's up little Bee?::

"Bored! Bored!" Each shout was followed by a gunshot, making Hijack laugh.

"Wanna go for a race?"

"Do I?!" The Camaro started up without another work and Hijack laughed, taking off after his brother.
