Chapter Twenty-Seven - Refurbishing Base and First Hunt
When the night falls down
I wait for you
And you come around
And the world's alive
With the sound of kids
On the street outside
When you walk into the room
You pull me close and we start to move
And we're spinning with the stars above
And you lift me up in a wave of love...

Dean looked over the abandoned storage room beside his and Metallicar's room. It needed cleaning and rewired. Not to mention paint and furniture, but aside from that it was perfect. There was enough room to where all of the bots could stand inside, albeit a tiny bit crowded. He grinned and turned to Metallicar.
"Baby, this is perfect! We just need to get it cleaned up and rewired. I think Hound could help me with that."
"I can help too." She smiled a bit.
"But I don't want you to overwork yourself Baby." She laughed and he frowned. "What?"
"Dean. Until the sparkling moves to the protoform I'm fine. And that's still months away." He sighed and nodded.
"Yeah, you're right. But, I never thought I'd ever be..." He sat down on a box and Metallicar smiled, mass-shifting and sitting beside him.
"It's something I never expected either. Just relax and it'll all be okay." He smiled and grabbed her hand.
"Why are you always the one comforting me?" She laughed.
"Because I'm older." He smirked at this.
"Yeah. I forgot about that." He looked around again. "Well then. Let's get to work."
-
Juliet remained silent as Chromia held her close, reassuring her that she was safe. Metallicar and Dean had just returned to the rec room and gone straight to her, Sam, Alice and Bluestreak in tow. Crosshairs and Ironhide were already behind the women, glaring at anyone they didn't want to close. Especially Galloway.
Though his only appearance was rather hilarious. He smelt strongly of garlic and had a crucifix. Juliet had just given him a strange look before huddling farther into Chromia's hold. He had gone to leave but bumped into Crowley and, in a moment of panic, turned to him while still holding the object. Crowley hissed at him and earned a strange look from everyone in the room. Gabriel had fallen from Ironhide's shoulder because he was laughing so hard.
Since then they hadn't heard from the man. Which Juliet was glad for. She doubted she could stand him.
"Jules?" She turned to Metallicar and hung her head.
"I look pathetic."
"No. You don't. Come here." She took Juliet into her arms and hugged her close. "You look like anyone who's been hurt does. Okay? Now will you please tell us what happened?" She shook her head.
"Juliet. If we know what she did then we can protect you from her. Please sweetspark?" She looked to Chromia. "You can stop whenever you like."
Juliet nodded and took a deep breath. "Alright. I'll tell you."
-
Optimus lay in the grass beside Alice, looking up at the sky. They were waiting for Bobby to find the article he had for them. While they lay there, Alice moved to where she was curled up against his bipedal's side.
It was calm until Bobby returned. "I found it. So tell me. Why does a giant alien robot want to hunt down something like this?"
"He wants to know what hunting is. I figured he'd learn the same way I did."
"Your first fight was against a shapeshifter!" He argued. "Not exactly a pleasant experience!"
"I know." Alice stood, Optimus following before he transformed. His holoform appeared behind Alice, a hand on her shoulder. "So give us what you have." She held out his hand and sighed.
"Missing people in the North Rockies. In Montana, just South of the Canadian border." She took the paper and looked to it.
"We'll take it." She smiled and hugged her dad. "Thank you. And don't worry. Optimus will take care of me." He smiled before she turned, returning to Optimus' alt mode. With that they left, Bobby staring after them with a thoughtful look on his face.
-
Juliet took a deep breath and began her story. "It started when I was little. I don't even remember how old I was when it started. She'd get drunk. Beat me, scar me. It was hell. I'd try to escape but she'd always find me. My only solace was when I got to see my father. And that's where Metallicar comes in."

-
Juliet sat upright as the familiar roar of the engine cut through the night. She sat up and rushed to the door, pulling it open. "Daddy!" The girl ran out and tackled John.
"Hey there little hunter. How is my girl?" She frowned at this and looked away.
"I hurt." She whispered, making him frown.
"Let me see." He knelt and she lifted the edge of her top, exposing multiple cuts and old scars. John frowned and turned, looking to the car. Juliet followed his gaze and smiled with glee as a familiar form stepped from the car.
"Baby!" She giggled tackling her. The black haired woman smiled and scooped her up.
"Hey Jules. Ready to go on a hunt?" She nodded fiercly and Baby took her back to the car.

Present Day
-
Juliet raised her shirt to show the scars littering her torso. Metallicar winced at the sight, remembering having seen them before. She just never knew where they were from.
Metallicar looked to Juliet as she leapt from Chromia's servo. She walked over to the taller femme and sat on her leg.
"Baby was there for me when I needed to her most. She helped me up when I fell down. She never let me feel weak. It was why I was devastated when I was changed. I knew it meant I'd likely never see her again." She hung her head and Metallicar scooped her up.
"I will never leave you behind again." She reassured her. "This I swear."
Chromia and the others stared in shock as Juliet turned to them. "Jules. I never had any idea." Ironhide's growl cut her off. They barely took note of Gabriel, who remained silent as they spoke.
"How could anyone do such a thing to a sparkling?! She did no harm to anyone! That femme is more a monster than anything you guys hunt!" His outburst made everyone stare in shock.
"Ironhide's right." Sunstreaker crossed his arms and looked down at her. "No one's gonna touch you again so long as I'm around." Juliet blinked and stood.
"I'm sorry, I'm in shock. You hate humans." He shrugged.
"There's always an exception to everything." He spoke, glancing to Rose Lennox, who set on his shoulder. "No matter what, there's always an exception."
-
Alice reclined in the seat, looking over the news articles that Bobby had already gathered. There was something familiar about the crime scenes but for the moment it just looked like a bear attack. She hummed in thought and scratched the back of her head.
"I'm thinking werewolf. I would say shapeshifter but I doubt he'd send me after one of them again." She muttered. "Then again he doesn't even know what it is so it has to be something big."
"Alice?" She looked up, blinking in the darkness away from the flashlight on her phone.
"Yes?" Optimus leaned over close to her and she felt her cheeks heating up.
"Get some sleep. We'll be in Montana in the morning. What was the town again?"
"Libby." She yawned and stretched. "It's been the camp sites that have been hit worst but it's also on the outskirts of town that have people missing." Optimus chuckled as she began to doze off.
"Sleep Alice. I will wake you when we arrive." She merely nodded and fell asleep where she lay.
-
True to his word Optimus woke Alice with great care as they rolled into town. She jolted awake and groaned, reaching for her bag. "Ready to get to investigating Prime?"
"Ready."
Alice jumped from the semi in a pristine suit, the shirt and skirt hugging her features in ways that Optimus never expected to see on her. She had a badge clipped to one side of her hip and a gun to the other. Quickly he replicated the badge, changed the numbers and donned a three piece suit. Alice looked to him with a smile.
"Alright. Agent Pax, follow my lead." She walked into the police station, Optimus following her. "And try to disguise your alt. Feds don't drive semis."
"Of course." He smiled and held the door, earning a smile from her. The police inside were mulling over the same files as her, though theirs were more detailed.
"Who the heck sent FBI?" The Sherrif gumbled. She turned to him with a delicate smile.
"Hello sir. I'm Agent Hyde, and this is Agent Pax. We're here investigating the missing persons." Her voice was so sweet that it calmed the man down almost instantly.
"Well Agent Hyde and Agent Pax. We were just going over that. Would you like to join in the conversation?"
"Yes please." She smiled before looking to Optimus. "Orion would like to speak with the survivor, if that's alright." The officer nodded.
"Go for it." Optimus nodded and left. Alice turned back to the men with a light smile.
"So what have you got for me?"
-
Metallicar grunted as she moved the empty crate. It was nearly twice her height and made of steel. Dean had wondered what it was for but she merely told him that he didn't want to know. They had left it at that as the femme struggled to move it.
"Baby, I don't want you stressing your spark." He crossed his arms and Metallicar chuckled.
"I'll be fine Dean. Just focus on getting the boxes out of here and back to Wheeljack without getting yourself blown up." He nodded and left, Metallicar stopping and taking a deep breath. She placed her servo over her spark chamber and chuckled. "Sorry little one. Guess this won't be as easy as I figured." She smiled, feeling the tiny thrum of the spark.
"Talking to yourself?" She turned, seeing Gabriel in the doorway.
"What? No."
"Then who? I don't see anyone else around." She rolled her optics.
"It's a carrier thing." She couldn't suppress the rush of pure joy that surged through her at being a carrier. She felt Dean's amusement and chuckled.
"A what?"
"I'm sparked." She replied as if it were basic knowledge. Then she remembered, he wasn't Cybertronian. Pit, he wasn't even technically human. He was an angel. "What's the human term?" She muttered.
"For?" He remained confused.
"With spark."
"Oh! Knocked up." Now it was her turn to look confused as he chuckled. "Gonna have a kid?"
"Yes. I am." He caught her joyful smile and leaned against the doorway.
"You guys are a fascinating race. But that's not why I came here."
"Oh?" Metallicar shoved on the crate, finally getting it to the corner.
"No. I'm here because you know Juliet almost as well as me." She turned to him. "I want to get her something to cheer her up but I need your opinion." She smiled and nodded.
"Fire away."
-
Galloway was tired and he felt sick. Granted he had returned to Washington a mere hour ago, he simply couldn't shake a feeling. And it translated to something real bad happening real soon. He suspected it to be that Cybertronian and her kid but he had no real clue.
"Director Galloway?" He looked up and forced a smile.
"Tia. Is something the matter?" The young blonde secretary walked in, her eyes a metallic silver.
"Nothing sir. I simply wanted to make sure you're alright." His smile became genuine as he nodded.
"Everything is fine. But, um, do you think you could grab me something?" She nodded and he grabbed a paper. "Would you mind running to the break room and grabbing me a coffee?"
"Sure. But first, would you mind trying this? It tastes unusual." She passed him a flavored water and he shrugged. He really was parched. He took a sip and set it down.
"Tastes fine to me." She smirked.
"Oh good. Now that that's out of the way, there's someone who needs to see you." Galloway frowned, his vision swimming.
"Who?" He stood but fell right over, Tia standing over him.
"My opiluk. He would very much like to meet you." She grinned and knelt. All Galloway saw as his vision fogged was the Decepticon logo, printed behind her right ear. "Sleep well director."
Galloway could only hope for the best as he slipped from awareness.
