Chapter Eight - Energon Poisoning and Sparkling Sitter

Little child

Dry your crying eyes

How can I explain

The fear you feel inside

'Cause you were born

Into this evil world

Where man is killing man

And no one knows just why

What have we become

Just look what we have done

All that we destroyed

You must build again

When the Children Cry - White Lion

Metallicar stared in shock at the green and black form in front of her. He had a grin a mile wide and his arms were crossed, a longer form of her jacket hanging around his legs.

"Cyber-cat got your tongue?" She snapped from her shock and tackled him.

"Baby brother!" He growled in annoyance before hugging her, pinning her arms to her side.

"Ah missed ya Ironspark." She grinned.

"The name's Metallicar now, ya glitch." Dean watched them from Optimus' shoulder, noting how the green mech stood taller than his Impala.

"Why'd ya change it?" She smirked.

"Why'd ya go from blue to green?" Was her reply.

"Touche." The two laughed and Dean chuckled.

"Cross! This is my charge, Dean Winchester and that is opi's charge Sam Winchester." She pointed between the two. "And opi's other charge is over there. William Lennox."

"Why does 'e have two?"

"Cause Sam needed watched." She voiced. Crosshairs looked to him with a grin.

"Hmm. 'Ow 'bout this then? Ah c'n keep an optic on Sam an' you keep Dean." Her gaze fell on Ironhide.

"If opi agrees."

"Works for me. 'Specially with the new charges."

"You mean our charges." Sunstreaker spoke as he walked in. Sideswipe rolled in behind him with a grin. The former had the girl perched on his shoulder while the latter had the boy.

"Is that Rose and Louie?" Lennox asked.

"Uncle Will!" They cheered, laughing as the elder twins transformed and let them out of their vehicle forms.

"Hey kids." They tackled him, hugging tightly.

"We're glad you're safe uncle Will." Rose whispered.

"Where's-" Metallicar quickly cut him off.

"Why don't you two take Sunny and Sides outside?" Sunstreaker growled at the nickname but allowed Rose in. Louie climbed into Sides' alt and they took off. She then sighed and knelt in front of Lennox.

"We found them in a warehouse full of vampires. They were the only survivors. And by the way the one woman died wrapped around her suggests that it was her mother." Lennox paled and stumbled, Metallicar moving quickly and catching him before he could fall.

"My sister is.... She's dead?" His voice broke and the femme looked away.

"I am sorry for your loss Will." He looked up at her.

"Thanks for saving them." Ironhide took his charge and left the room, causing Metallicar to slump slightly. Dean could only watch in silence as her brother attempted to console her.

He was about to leave when black filled his vision and he began to fall. "Dean!" His back slammed into the ground as Metallicar transformed and sped over to him.

The last thing he saw was a pair of startling blue eyes.

-

Ratchet threw another wrench, narrowly avoiding Metallicar's helm. "How was I supposed to know it would affect him?! He's been with me from the day he was born. If the energon didn't poison him then, why wou-"

"Because we had to pull him from hell and completely restore his body." Dean, although groggy, knew instantly that Castiel had spoken. Which meant he knew where they were.

"So it's your fault that Dean is dying!" Metallicar snapped. "Again!" She added in.

"No. It is your fault for not letting them go when I told you to."

"These are my boys Castiel! I'll not let you take them from me!"

"Baby?" He felt a hand wrap around his.

"I'm here Dean." He cracked an eye open, the image blurry. It finally cleared and he reeled back.

"Alice?" She averted her gaze.

"Dean I have a confession to make." He looked confused. "Ironspark isn't my mom." He scoffed.

"Knew that. You're flesh, she's metal." She laughed nervously and shook her head.

"No. Dean.... I am Metallicar." He sat up, almost hitting her head with his own. "No, you need to lay back down. The energon in your blood-" He hugged her tightly and breathed a sigh of relief.

"At least now I don't have to worry if you're okay or not." Metallicar, now relieved that Dean knew she was Alice, smiled. She moved to say something but Castiel interrupted.

"Oh good, hug your murderer." He spat.

"Castiel, one more word and I will personally send you back upstairs." Dean smirked and looked at the woman hugging him. Her movements were protective and made him proud. This ancient mechanical being was protecting him, a dying man. He groaned and Metallicar looked to him.

"I'm going back to hell aren't I?" He felt the anger radiating from his guardian as she growled.

"No. Ratchet's going to help you adapt. It'll take a while, and Castiel doubts you'll live. But I know you Dean. I know you'll be fine." He smiled and Ratchet turned his glare on Castiel.

"Metallicar can stay but you need to get out of my med bay." The angel turned his gaze on Ratchet.

"I am supposed to make sure that Dean does not die. I cannot do that when she is-" He was cut off as Ratchet's holoform threw a wrench that hit him in the forehead.

"Out!" Without another word he left, allowing Ratchet to chuckle darkly.

"Wow. That guy is scary." Metallicar laughed.

"Just think Dean. You'll get to sped the next few months in his care." He groaned.

"Frag." He groaned. She laughed.

"Primus help me, you're both children." Ratchet shook his head.

"Who are you calling a child? There's the child right there!" Both spoke simultaneously, pointing at one another. "Hey!"

Ratchet shook his head as the two continued.

-

Castiel strolled down the halls, earning strange looks from many of the soldiers. He held his head high and had a determined aura around him. His gaze flicked around as he rounded the corner, finding the Autobot he had been looking for with his back to him.

He walked up and cleared his throat. "Optimus Prime." Said mech stilled before turning slightly, his gaze falling on the man.

"If you think you have come to tell me what to do then you are wrong Castiel." The angel chuckled.

"Normally I'd ask how you knew my name but even I know that the Primes have a strong connection to your Primus." He looked up as best he could. "And that Primus would easily know my name."

"What is it you require?"

"One of your soldiers has a man in their care that must leave base."

"Dean is not leaving until Ratchet has him adapted to the energon in his blood. And after that it is his own decision. Metallicar is basically all he has left aside from Sam. I cannot force him to leave that behind."

"They are bringing a danger to you that you cannot possibly comprehend."

"Metallicar has me well informed of many of the creatures they have gone after and how to prevent them." He turned fully to him and Castiel barely saw a symbol of anti-possession on his neck. Castiel scoffed and shook his head.

"That'll stop one."

"She's told us many ways to stop others. We are not without defenses." At this the angel frowned.

"There's a war brewing within your own. Angels are banding against demons who have taken bodies we could not ever hope to hold. Your men are in grave danger."

"They are in danger every day we fight against the Decepticons."

"You realize that the war I speak of is far worse than this? We are talking of the Apocalypse here! And you're just going to ignore my warnings?!"

"No. We are willing to offer you a place to stay so that you can help us fight this threat." Lennox looked up at the Autobot leader with a confused face.

"We are?" Castiel shook his head.

"I have more important things to do than argue with you." He turned and left, making Optimus sigh.

"Metallicar was correct. He is a nuisance." Lennox and Epps both burst out laughing.

-

"Hey Baby?" She hummed to show he had her attention. "When Alice- erm, you, were massaging the seats?"

"I had a nasty pain in the neural sensors beneath were my holoform was sitting." She explained, looking to the door. "Now, I agreed to babysit Annabelle and the twins."

"You're leaving me here?" He pouted.

"Not alone of course. Your brother is coming in to spend time with ya and Sam Witwicky showed up on base earlier. He wants to see if he can't help ya." She then smirked. "Something about bringing an apple pie." He sat up quickly.

"Oh I have a favorite Sam now." She broke out laughing as the doors opened, showing the scrawny teen.

"Hey, somebody order a pie?" Dean nodded fiercely and Sam grinned, the other Sam close behind.

"Oh, Sam, you are my new best friend."

"What does that make me?" Metallicar pouted.

"Possible girlfriend." He grinned at her blush and she cleared her throat.

"Well, I have to go watch the kids now. See ya."

She left the room, her vehicle form on her heels.

It was quiet as she entered the rec room, the base children sitting and watching a movie. But there was one there who she didn't recognize. She walked over and sat in the chair by them, carefully eyeing the boy.

He looked to be about twelve years old, long black hair falling in his face. His shirt was white with a star comprised of BVB on the shirt. Metallicar quickly researched it, finding that it belonged to a band. Her gaze returned to him, finding that he wore denim jeans with tattered knees and a pair of All-Star sneakers on his feet. He looked to her and she stilled, blazing red eyes locking on her. He suddenly turned away and she caught sight of a badge around his neck.

"Ya must be Barricade's sparkling." He looked up and nodded slightly.

"I'm not exactly a sparkling." He muttered. "I'm a youngling." She chuckled lightly and the techno-organic looked up at her.

"Well I'm Metallicar." He looked her over.

"Thought you were a 'Bot." He voiced.

"This is merely my holoform. My alt is over there." He turned, going wide-eyed at the sight of the black Impala.

"Woah. I can't wait until I'm old enough to take my Cybertronian form. I'm gonna have a police car, just like opi's!" He smiled before going quiet again. "They don't trust him, do they?"

"In all fairness he did try to kill Sam once. It'll take a while to show that he's changed." The boy looked up and nodded. "I don't think I know your name."

"It's Blaze. Blaze Barr." Metallicar smiled and turned towards the t.v.

"Baze!" He was tackled by a blonde girl who grinned and hugged him tight.

"Annabelle." He sighed. The two year old giggled and stumbled as Blaze set her down. She then turned and clung onto Metallicar's holoform, who melted instantly.

"Awwww. You're so adorable." She cooed, making Annabelle giggle.

"Meta!"

Laughter filled the room and she turned, seeing all of the bot's holoforms standing in a row and grinning at her. Not counting Ratchet, of course, as he was still tending to Dean. Each and every one of them had clothing matching to their alt-modes.

"Laugh it up now guys. You can't deny. She's to cute." She then grinned. "So who wants to help sparkling-sit?"

-

Somehow every bot who had interrupted had been roped into watching t.v. with them. Even Optimus, who currently had a sleeping Annabelle curled in his lap. He too appeared near sleep, a point that many other bots had already hit. Metallicar was slumped in the seat, curled similar to a cat as she watched the movie with great interest.

"Baby?" She glanced to Dean before putting her finger to her lips.

"Shhh. Stitch is talking to the Grand Councilwoman about his ohana." She whispered, optics glued once more to the t.v. Dean snuck over and sat in front of the chair, leaning back and watching the movie as well.

"This is my family. I found it, all on my own." The little blue alien spoke. "It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah. Still good." Dean looked up to Metallicar, who was smiling fondly. She then looked down as Sam took a seat by his brother.

"Yeah. Still good." She repeated. Sam and Dean were shocked as she pulled them into a hug. "My ohana." She muttered. She loosened her grip and Dean smiled. It wasn't until she began to fall that he realized she had fallen asleep.

"Sammy. Give me a hand?" He nodded and pulled her down, catching her and setting her between them. Her head fell onto Dean's shoulder and he smiled. His heart leaped into his chest as a small smile crossed her features and he looked up at Sam. "Sammy?"

"Yeah Dean?" He looked down at her before his gaze returned to his brother.

"What am I going to do?" He asked softly. Sam smirked and leaned back against the seat.

"Just go with it Dean. There's nothing you can do." He looked down at her with a smile. Keeping that in mind he allowed himself to drift off as well.
