Description :

He was the benevolent village chief of Larton, a small farming settlement in the Autumnwind Plains, now under Drisian territory.

When General Krugmann, Crown Prince of Drisia was leading a campaign to expand his kingdom, his troops reached Larton. The Midaelian villagers refused to let them pass. In this chaos ridden time, the villagers accused Mr Shafforn for being allies with the Drisians.

The angry mob burned him at the stake, too agitated to ensure whether the accusation was true or not. Taking opportunity of this unrest, Drisian forces overran and destroyed the village.

The village chief's son, Emric Shafforn (thirteen at that time) knew the Clearstrike family personally and was a friend of Finnian Clearstrike, Farren's older brother.
