A long time ago, when there was still peace among the Dragon Aspects. If it wouldn't be for the old gods, there perhaps still would be harmony among these entities.
However, there was a rather unusual dragon born among the red dragonflight, the dragonflight of Alexstrasza the Life-Binder. It was a female dragon and she excelled in swordsmanship, intelligence and beauty. The Dragon Queen Alexstrasza had great expectations and trust in her, as she had fought many battles against the dangers of the dragons as she grew into a blossoming woman. The female dragon was known as (y/n) and not only her skills and intellect had won hearts but her beauty made a thousand hearts skip a beat. This woman hadn't chosen a consort yet and she didn't even plan to be so hasty, that made all of the male dragons vying for her love. There was a certain dragon who had a mysterious aura but a benevolent one he was, was just as close as a friend to (y/n). Poor (y/n) she didn't even know that the Earth-Warder Neltharion had begun to see her more than just friends, of how he would admire her long wavy (h/c) tresses and thank the titans that he had the opportunity to look at, and the magical gaze of those (e/c) eyes where he became entranced every time he gazed back into them. And during all of this auspicious events, the dark gaze of the evil had to fall. The dragon Neltharion by now had begun to hear the evil voices of the old gods, he tried to keep it a secret but slowly the voices began to turn him insane. Alexstrasza, the cautious dragon queen, ordered all of her dragons to isolate Neltharion...including (y/n).
"But...my queen, he needs a friend in his troubled times... we can't just..."
"It's done. You, (y/n), are an intelligent woman and you must understand the malevolence of the old gods. I cannot let one of my children to die because all she ever wanted was to stand by her friend" the Dragon Queen looked at (y/n) with a motherly concern in her eyes, trying to avert her wishes to meet the Earth-Warder.
"It wouldn't be right my lady, to abandon him like this... he has helped us plenty!" the female persisted
"I know your concerns, but know that what I am doing is for your own well being and the well being of all your brothers and sisters"
"Please...if I may meet him just once..."
"No means no, you are not meeting him! And any attempts to contact him would end in treason!" Alexstrasza replied harshly than before, thinking on her words again as she saw (y/n) disheartened.
The female dragon (y/n) lowered her head and bowed before her queen before she left the throne room.

"The old gods' voices are driving me insane, and Alexstrasza decides to isolate me as if I bear a plague" Neltharion wrathfully smashed a gigantic rock to pieces as he breathed fire in wayward directions. The dragon stepped on the ground, resting his wings as he stood and shape-shifted into his human form, enclosing his wings around him as if the earth he controlled were now against him.
"What destruction have you caused here?" Neltharion's ears twitched with the familiar voice and looked behind him to find the trusted swordsman of Alexstrasza, but she didn't stood as one today before him...she stood as his dear friend today...more than just a friend in his heart.
"(Y/n)? But weren't you forbidden to meet me?" Neltharion carefully observed her, trying to make sure she was real and not an illusion created by his enraged mind.
The female looked at the broken rocks and the burning trees near her before she turned her gaze back to the Earth-Warder. Neltharion felt ashamed to cause such destruction, and even more that his dear (y/n) who was a child of the Life-Binder was looking upon these. "She must be thinking how horrible I am" Neltharion cursed himself inwardly and avoided to look at the female.
"I have sneaked out of my dwelling to meet you... the queen doesn't know of this yet..." she answered him, her voice had a faint appearance of fear in them
"Your queen will be greatly affronted, leave for your castle now (y/n)..." he avoided to look at her, he didn't want her to leave, but it would be for the best for both of them.
"It matters not... I have traveled this far to meet you, Neltharion... I won't leave like this. Everyone may have abandoned you but... I will stand for you, even if it means standing against my queen" she boldly replied as she stood beside him, looking at him.
"I must salute your bravery... but I couldn't help but notice that you are on a fool's errand. I don't want you to be hurt, leave me, I insist" he gazed back to her. (Y/n) stepped in front of him and holding his face she said "I won't be hurt, but I certainly will be if I leave you today" with those words, she rested her forehead on his and smiled as a lone tear trickled down her cheek.
Neltharion smiled and wrapped his arms around her, both of them lingering in each other's embrace. Keeping each other protected from the cruel world outside.
After an hour or so, the female had to leave as lingering too long outside her territory would be dangerous
"I must leave now, dear Neltharion..." she said as she looked at the setting sun
"...I understand... although, can this meeting occur tomorrow?" he knew it would be foolish to ask as (y/n) had already taken a great amount risk to come here
"Of course it can!" She replied happily, much to his surprise.
The Earth-Warder walked to her and embraced her "if it is too perilous, do not meet me... I don't want you to be hurt..." he closed his eyes and embraced her tighter
"I won't be hurt... as long as I'm with you" she wrapped her arms around him and sighed happily. With no words, he leaned to her and quickly placed a kiss on her lips, hoping she would return his feelings. Neltharion was overjoyed as she returned the kiss as they stood in the embrace of their sparkling love.
Unfortunately, this forbidden union was not unseen as the Dragon Queen Alexstrasza witnessed everything from the shadows "I trusted you my child..." her motherly heart was filled with rage and the pain of betrayal. "If you won't heed your own queen, then you will die with the destroyer..." she left the scene and flew to her temple.

The following day, when (y/n) left the Wyrmrest Temple, the queen Alexstrasza followed her quietly as her shadow. The female didn't have an inkling on what horrors were about to befall. The queen watched as she entered an old castle where she was summoned by her lover, she watched as she walked up the stairs and deeper into the castle.
The queen Alexstrasza transformed into her draconic appearance soon after (y/n) disappeared from her line of sight "you will know the price for betraying your queen" she glared and began to breath fire into the walls of the castle.
"Neltharion!...Neltharion?" (Y/n) called out for the Earth-Warder as she couldn't see him anywhere, but startling her a pair of strong arms surrounded her body as she recognized her dear Neltharion and giggled happily.
"For a moment I thought Alexstrasza had caught you" he said as he lovingly nestled her in his arms.

On the outer parts of the castle, the raging queen had been successful in engulfing a part of the castle with her flames. With the strong beats of her dragon wings, she began to spread the flames further.

"No, as it turns out, I am indeed very sneaky" she boasted, causing both of them to laugh.
"Enough talk of her... I want to tell you something..." his eyes glistened with joy as she eagerly waited for him to finish that word.

Alexstrasza proceeded to cause the destruction of her enemies by further spreading the flames. Her serpentine eyes coldly watched as the castle grew more and more surrounded by fire, yet her heart burnt with those very same anger that her child (y/n) had caused her.

"I want you to know that from a very long time ago I have loved and admired you, your very presence brings me joy (y/n) but after what the dragon queen did, I began to suspect if we ever will be together" Neltharion spoke and seeing a shadow of pain in his eyes, she gently said "shh...don't worry... I am here with you now..."

It didn't take long for the raging flames to spread throughout the castle and into the interiors, the queen changed back to her human form and walked into the castle, her eyes hungry for revenge as the flames followed her into the castle.

The Earth Warder neared her as she closed her eyes and he whispered a little nervously "I...I..."
"Stop right there!"
Both of them were surprised as the dragon queen walked into their chamber, with a great storm of fire slowly eating away at the castle behind her.
"I had forbidden you (y/n)! Yet you disobeyed me! Now I will vanquish your lover and you will watch helplessly" she shouted and summoned a barrier around (y/n), as the enraged queen attacked Neltharion with all of her anger and might as the female watched in horror.
For a long time the dragons engaged in a furious combat, Alexstrasza was attacking with all of her strength and skills but Neltharion refrained from attacking her too harshly. The castle was on the verge of falling by all these flames.
"I must do something quickly! (Y/n)! I have to attack her with all of my strength!" Neltharion said, still caring about her loyalty towards Alexstrasza
"One of us must fall here today... it is either the queen who bought me to life or Neltharion...my love" (y/n) was distressed but she had to choose "then do it Neltharion!" she shouted and Alexstrasza looked at her with horror "you wouldn't dare (y/n)! I am your life-binder, I'm like your mother!" she shouted
"You destroyed your rights to call me your child the moment you sworn to kill him..." she looked away from her and after a heated battle, the queen fled from there.
The Earth-Warder dispelled the barrier and escaped with (y/n) from the burning castle.

From a distant hill, they saw the castle burn to ground and grateful that none of them were in there.
"Afterwards, Alexstrasza would never call you her dragon and would attempt to assault you on sight..." he sighed.
(Y/n) looked at him and smiled "I know she won't... it matters not to me... we will be together, that's what matters now" she said
"Then my dear, with all honor and love, will you be my consort?" Neltharion smiled and presented his hand to her
"I will my love..." she smiled and happily accepted his hand.
They kissed each other and happily accepted to protect and love each other with their heart and soul.....

Early update! Yay! (Earlier than usual at least :P ) I didn't want to publish a new update for a while but this idea just popped up in my head and in my opinion, it was too good to ignore. So yeah, here's a new chapter. Hope you enjoyed! ^^
