(Steven's Pov)

"She's gone into the city!" Garnet shouted and the gems leaped into the air before falling to the ground, speeding towards the city. I tried jumping like them but I couldn't get more than three inches off the ground. I groaned loudly before running down the steps.

"Lion!" I shouted and he walked outside the temple, staring down at me tiredly.

"Lion, I need your help!" I explained and he simply blinked at me, uncaringly.

"The world could be in danger!" I tried and he yawned. Dang it, Lion.

"I'll make you two bagel sandwiches!" I persuaded and he launched down from the patio, landing gracefully on the sand. I jumped onto his back and he rushed off towards Beach City. As I road closer, I could tell that the Diamond gem was going to be a hard target to capture.

(Connie's Pov)

As I ran into the homely colony, I turned back to see the other gems hot on my tail. I groaned before taking a sharp left turn, and ducking under a transport vehicle that was designed like a pizza. I held my breath as I watched the fusion step onto the boardwalk along with her two cohorts.

"Fan out! Search everywhere!" She commanded and the Pearl ran to my far left while the Amethyst ran to my far right. The Garnet fusion walked up to the vehicle I was under and stared at it for quite some time before I heard the sound of her gauntlets being summoned. Uh oh. I rolled out from under the transportation vehicle as she jumped into the air, bringing her gauntlet down on the poorly designed vehicle, crushing it. As I came face to face with the angry fusion, I summoned my sword to defend myself as she seemed to grow tense. She stood up from the crushed transport vehicle, and slowly walked towards me. I glanced around for an escape but the only exit I could find was to either run, but she would probably catch me, or I could jump onto the sand just to be cornered by the ocean, I was trapped.

"What do you think you are doing? Is it national Destroy-a-Car day, or something?" an African man said coming out of a shop, with some kind of strange contraption inside his hair. The fusion glanced away giving me the perfect route of escape, I ran forward and kicked her in the chest, making her fall over as I continued running. I rushed past the destroyed car and sprinted towards a building with a round contraption on it. I think the humans call it a doughnut. As I did, I felt a whip wrap around my shoulders and held me back. I turned around to see the Amethyst gem holding me back and I rolled my eyes sending a golden eye beam at her, knocking her to the ground. I unwrapped the whip from around me just in time to be met with a spear to the side. I slid across the boardwalk, sword in hand. I glared harshly at the servant of the team as she stared me down.

"Pearl!" I heard the fusion shout from across the boardwalk as she ran towards us and the Pearl glanced over at her.

"Fuse with Amethyst! You can't beat her on your own!" Garnet commanded and the Pearl obeyed, of course. She ran towards the now standing Amethyst and they commenced their attempt at fusion. I smirked as they wasted their time and ran farther towards my destination. As I was running, a shimmering light beamed from behind me and soon a giant fusion was standing before me. How'd they get in front of me so fast?!

"Stop right there." The new fusion said and she summoned a spear. She swiped the blade at me and I gracefully dodged by bounding into the air, leaving me open for her punch that went straight into my gut. I groaned, falling to the ground before watching as the fusion calmly and gracefully walked towards me. She went to grab me but I reacted fast enough, grabbing her arms and pulling her towards me, making her fall. As she fell closer, I drove my foot into her chest and she slowly came apart, unfusing into Amethyst and Pearl. I scoffed at their poor attempt at capturing me before standing to my feet and dashing off, yet again.

"Pearl, you stay here in case she comes back through! Amethyst, you come with me!" Garnet said from behind me and I ran inside of the store marked, Big Donut. The male at the counter screamed and the female gasped as I ran into the back room, locking the door.

"Where?!" I heard the fusion shout and soon I heard the same whooshing sound before as I saw a light glow from under the crack of the door. I slowly approached the door as I heard a deep, low breathing on the other side. What kind of a beast could possibly be on the other side of this door? My question was soon answered as a gigantic, purple fist shot through the door, barely missing me. I looked out the now destroyed door way to see five eyes staring back at me. I screamed as the monstrous fusion stood up, destroying the building around it.

"What's wrong, brat?! Got nothin' to say?!" The towering, purple fusion shouted and she summoned a pair of gauntlets, slamming her fists down at me. I dodged them and she ended up flattening the rubble around us.

"Stay still, I'm trying to flatten you!" She exclaimed and she reared back to send another punch but I sent an eye beam into her uncovered eyes and she screamed, falling back slightly. I used that chance to escape, running towards a huge wheel that was surrounded by other varying machines.

"Sugilite! She went into the amusement park!" I heard the Pearl shout and I groaned in frustration. I soon felt heavy footsteps running towards me, the creature, Sugilite, was after me. I heard the sound of vehicle alarms going off as the creatures huge footsteps set them off. The beast roared as she few closer, the ground shaking more with every step.

"I see you!" The beast cried and I pushed myself to run my hardest, slipping into the "Amusement Park." I ran to the giant wheel and hid under it, covering myself with my arms.

"You think you can hide, from me? Think again, pest!" Sugilite roared and I heard her summon a weapon. I tried to calm myself as I crouched lower to the ground, holding my knees closer to me. I heard the sound of clanging metals and objects crashing and soon, the wheel that I was hiding under flew into the air. I screamed as Sugilite laughed down at me.

"Found ya! Now, stay right there!" Sugilite and I saw as she swung her arm into the air and a flail flew up. I don't think staying right here is such a good idea. I ran away just as she brought the flail crashing down, knocking me around slightly from the power. She roared in anger as I continued to run and I saw a possible opening for escape.

The Drop Zone, it was marked and I ran to the contraption. I strapped myself in and waited for the monstrous beast to reach me.

"Ha! Giving up? I was having so much fun chasing you!" Sugilite said running towards me, she stopped just above the Drop Zone and summoned gauntlets. When she raised her arms, I knew it was time for action. I electrically charged my hands before gripping tightly onto the Drop Zone, powering it up instantly. It whirred before rocketing me upwards. I drew my sword, holding it out in front of me as the machine thrusted me faster towards the top.

"Sugilite! Watch out!" Pearl cried but it was already too late. Sugilite looked down just as I rocketed straight into her forehead. She screamed in pain as she fell backwards onto the rest of the amusement park, crushing everything she fell on. She groaned before unfusing into Garnet and Amethyst. I smirked before unstrapping myself and leaping from the top of the Drop Zone, landing on my feet.

"This has been fun and all, but I really must be going." I said to the Pearl and she glared harshly at me. Garnet slowly walked over to her, grabbing her hand.

"Oh but you can't leave yet, you haven't got to see the main event!" She said, chuckling as Garnet twirled her. Dang it, another fusion?! They fused together and a tall fusion was left in their place.

"This is the lovely Sardonyx coming to you live from a high-speed chase of a Homeworld gem! This chase has been going on for awhile and quite honestly I'm surprised they waited this long to form me! Ohohoho!" The fusion, Sardonyx, said and she summoned a hammer while sauntering towards me.

"Now, sadly, it's around that time where you get captured and I go back to being split up! So let's get this show underway!" She said and she lunged towards me. I closed my eyes to concentrate and I felt as my power had been released. As I opened my eyes, I felt the power radiate from them and I swiped my hand to the right, forcing Amethyst to run out to block Sardonyx's attack. Like my Creator, I also have the power of body manipulation so when I see no other way, I let someone else fight the battle for me. I smirked at the two before running towards my destination. Finally.

(Steven's Pov)
"I've been waiting for this!" I heard as Lion and I reached the destroyed amusement park. I glanced around at all of the crumbling rides until I saw Sardonyx flipping in the air, she summoned her hammer and she brought it down with grace and power! I cheered as smoke flew around the park but my cheering died down as I noticed Amethyst was the one she was fighting. Wait, what?!

"What're you two doing?!" I shouted and Sardonyx sent a kick into Amethyst's chest knocking her away.

"Why if it isn't Steven Universe? How're you doing?" She questioned walking over and my jaw dropped as she seemed to be completely unfazed.

"Um I'm good? Why are you fighting Amethyst and not the Homeworld gem?!" I exclaimed and she ducked as Amethyst flung a metal stool at her.

"That Diamond Gem has some type of control over Amethyst at the moment so I've been fighting her! Now if you'll excuse me," Sardonyx told me and she ran at Amethyst, erupting into another battle. I sighed before looking around for the gem and luckily I spotted her running up the hill towards the lighthouse. Gotcha!

"Lion, to the lighthouse!" I commanded and he growled before creating a portal and jumping through. We went through the rift and popped out on the other side, which happened to be in front of the lighthouse. I crawled off of Lion as the gem walked closer to the gem temple's mask and pressed a button on her suit. A light yellow projection beamed from her suit and I gasped as a giant woman showed up on the screen.

(Connie's Pov)

"Yes?" My Diamond said and I saluted her with a wide smile on my face.

"Connie Diamond reporting to Homeworld from Earth, My Diamond." I said and she glanced down at me with a bored face. Hm? What's this?

"Okay. And what seems to be the problem?" She questioned and I took a deep breath.

"Well, the mission didn't go as planned." I said and she looked at me, infuriated.

"Did you not succeed in freeing them?!" She inquired angrily and I put my hands up in defense.

"No, I did! They're on their way as we speak!" I affirmed and she relaxed.

"Oh? So what's the problem?" She questioned and I had to resist the urge to roll my eyes.

"I'm not with them! We're all supposed to return together! The Diamonds, The Peridot, The Lapis Lazuli, The Jasper, and I!" I stated and she chuckled. She placed a hand on her forehead as she erupted into laughter.

"And just what makes you think that?" She said and I gasped.

"Y-you need us!" I exclaimed and she laughed even harder.

"I need you?! I have a million Peridots, Jaspers are worthless, low-class soldiers, Lapis was a traitor, why do I need them?!" She guffawed and I bit my lip. Those statements were true.

"But you need me, right?" I asked and she grew more quiet.

"Aw, sweetie, of course I don't. As we speak, I have ten of you in the making." She said and she panned the camera to where there were, in fact, ten of me floating in cryogenic tanks. She turned the camera to face her once again and she made a teasing pouty face.

"Aw, what's the matter? Did you just now realize how common you truly are?" She questioned, laughing and I looked down at the ground.

"With more Connies in production, I don't need you or your ragtag team of misfits, I wish you the best, until we come to destroy the Earth that is. See you soon, darling." Yellow Diamond said, cutting off the connection. I dropped to my knees, my mouth fully agape. Did that really just happen? Have I really been abandoned? Never would I have thought that I would be so easily replaced. I-I thought Yellow Diamond actually cared...

"Um, hi." I heard from behind me and I sighed, standing to me feet and turning around. I saw the strange hybrid and I looked down towards the ground, holding out my wrists.

"Just take me in. I don't care anymore. It's all over anyways." I said and he walked closer before placing his hands in my shoulders.

"No, it's far from over." He said smiling at me and I smiled back softly.
