SEVEN:

Glass Angels

Natsu grouchily sits on the porch, shivering, as I cavort around in the abundance of snow.

"Look Natsu! I made a snowman!"

I congratulate myself and do a happy dance, a ginormous grin on my face.

He glances up at the snowman I had made and smiles lightly.

He slowly gets up from the staircase and walks over to me, resting his palm on my head.

He stands next to me and ruffles my hair, causing it to tangle once again.

I feel my cheeks tint amaranth and I shift to the side, looking for a distraction.

I grab his hand and lead him over to where I'd made a snow angel.

"I did that too!"

I smiled heartily, proud of my work.

He smiles along with me and I, once again, lead him, but this time, over to a big pile of snow.

I quickly jump in and stay hidden inside of the element, giggling under my breath.

"Luce?"

He asked, in a terrified tone.

I glimpse up and my face instantly made contact with something cold and wet.

I wipe my face and look to my hand, realizing that I gotten hit in the face with a snowball.

'Oh it's on.'

I smirk, cracking my knuckles.

We keep playing for hours, and by the time we're ready to go back inside of the manor, we were both covered in water and panting heavily.

I run inside and change out of my attire, into a pair of fluffy pajamas.

Me and Natsu laugh a lot while we sit on the couch and drink mugs of hot chocolate.

"You were shrieking like a five year old. That was hilarious."

He erupts into laughter.

I slapped him on the arm, my face as crimson as Natsu's cloak.

"Luce, you look like a tomato. Are you sick?"

He asks, leaning closer to my face.

I pout and turn the other way.

"Are you seriously pouting? Luce I was-"

He keeps chuckling, pausing to finish.

"Kidding."

He continued, bleeding garnet.

I had punched him in the nose, still flustered.

"Quit making fun of me."

I huff and walk into his room.

She walked into my room, after punching me straight in my face.

My goddamn gorgeous face!

Who the hell does she think she is?!

Sure she's pretty, and smart, and kind, and funny but now my fucking face is ruined!

Let me repeat,

My goddamn gorgeous face!

But for some reason, I can't help but to grin like an idiot.

Four hundred years spent with this fabulous fucking face!

The absolute least she could do is compliment me!

I wasn't even making fun of her, maybe the first time I was, but I was genuinely concerned after that.

I hold my, now stinging, cheek and groan lowly, wondering what I'm going to do with my life.

Still rubbing my cheek, I walk into my room and lay in my bed, next to her.

The she-devil who may've possibly stolen my heart.

I don't know what this is,

Probably infatuation.

I don't fall in love,

Never had and never will.

I don't want to anyway..

Unless it's with her.

I wrap my arms around her and surprisingly, she doesn't punch me again.

I feel as if she's forgiven me, until I realize that she's already asleep.

I sigh and rest my head on the soft pillows, closing my eyes and going to sleep.

I walk down the staircase and make breakfast, putting it in the refrigerator, so it wouldn't spoil.

After that, I sit on the couch, trying to fall back asleep.

I soon hear the sound of soft footsteps and a low yawn.

I glance up and see Luce, walking clumsily down the stairs and rubbing her eyes.

"G'morning, What time *yawn* is it?"

She asked tiredly, her eyes drooping.

"Early, go back to bed."

I reply, walking over to her.

She shakes her head and opens the refrigerator, taking out a plate of pancakes.

I hesitantly help her to the table and we sit down, beginning to eat breakfast.

I reluctantly reach my hand out for hers, but jerk it back when she looks over at me.

I shake my head in confusion and take her plate from off of the table.

"Morning to you, too."

I start washing dishes, my nose upturning a bit.

"Natsu?"

She asks, staring at the walnut-wooden dinner table.

"Hmm?"

I ask, looking back at her.

"Why do you hate humans?"

She asks, resting her chin in her palms.
