There are days when I feel like I have gotten over you.

Your name does not cross and zigzag around the hollow shell of my mind. The sound of your voice does not echo. The memories of us do not flash like thunderstorms inside the storm in my head.

Then the nights come where everything begins to go backwards and my hand is clasped in yours again. You tell me thunders won't hurt me and my soul was too bright to have shadows.

You were lightning, and I was too afraid of thunder to watch you fall down from the sky so I closed my eyes. I closed my ears. I closed my heart.
