You countered my apology with a sorry of your own. 

"Sorry I cannot love you, I can no longer hold the weight of something as heavy anymore." 

"Sorry, for being so tired. My heart is too broken, to keep you." 

"Sorry, I have to go." 

But all I heard was, 

Sorry you are too much for a heart to hold. I can't have you break it, I have seen how you destroy the things you love the most.

And you ask me to let it go,

like I have not spent my whole life trying to make someone stay.
