For five weeks, Velvette had been discreetly following Odette and Clara. She followed them everywhere when they made deliveries, when they went somewhere with their mother, and of course, when they returned home. Velvette wanted to enter the house, but she couldn't because it was Carmilla's home, and she couldn't just walk in. So, she would return to the Vees' tower.

On the other side, Odette and Clara had noticed that someone was following them everywhere. The two sisters couldn't quite make out who it was, but they also noticed that the person was following them all the way to their home. After five weeks of this, Odette and Clara decided to tell their mother everything. The two sisters entered their mother's office and said they wanted to talk. Carmilla told her daughters to sit down.

Carmilla: What do you want to talk to me about, girls?

Odette: Well.

After a moment, Odette told Carmilla everything. She explained that someone was following them everywhere and that she and Clara were afraid someone might try to kidnap them.

Carmilla: You really don't know who's following you.

Clara: No mom, we don't know.

Carmilla looked at her two daughters, worried for them. She had promised to protect them, and then she decided to do something without telling her daughters.

Carmilla: Listen, girls, I'm going to take care of the person who's been following you. Tomorrow, act as if you don't know anything.

Odette and Clara say yes with their heads and then she leaves.
