Yeonhee and Hyerim jumped into the car, Hyerim in the passenger seat and Yeonhee forced into the back seat.
"I can drive." Hyerim offered and Jae Eun just glared at her before starting the ignition.
"Yeah, we all know how well that goes." He commented, making Hyerim frown and pout. "Anyway, you don't know where we're going."
"We don't know anything apart from the fact this seems urgent." Yeonhee stated.
"Yeah, I've never seen you run so fast in your life." Hyerim chuckled.
Jae Eun rolled his eyes and started put the car into drive, speeding brought the city to Unit 18.
"There's a bomb in Unit 18. It's amongst the drugs that the others got off he ship last night. We need to find it and dispose of it." He explained and the two girls' eyes lit up at the mention of a bomb. "The thing is, we don't know when it's times to destruct is. So there is a possibility that we walk into the unit and it explodes." He added in a grim tone.
"That makes it more exciting!" Yeonhee said excitedly. "The not knowing!"
"Dude!" Hyerim exclaimed and weakly hit Jae Eun on the chest. "We should get the bomb and throw it into one of The Nobodies' business buildings!" She suggested.
"No way-"
"Yes!" Yeonhee yelled. "We have to do that!"
"We're not-"
"That will teach them not to put explosives into out units again." Hyerim stated, smirking proudly at her idea. Jae Eun sighed, defeated. He doesn't even know why he tries to reason with these two anymore.
"We're here..." He muttered as he pulled the car over and got out. "We need to be quick okay." He stated and ran into the unit, the two girls chasing close behind.
All three ran in and went straight to the drugs that were brought in yesterday. The crew who are stationed on the unit looked at them in confusion as they tore open the crates and searched through each one.
"What's going on here?" One of them asked Jae Eun. He glanced up at them quickly before focusing on searching again.
"There's a bomb in one of these crates. I would get out if I were you. We don't know when it will explode." He explained. The person who asked gasped and didn't hesitate to inform the other crew members and ran out.
The trio searched for a couple of minutes before Yeonhee yelled, making Jae Eun jump out of his skin.
"I've found it!" She yelled, holding up the small contraption in her hands. "It's got like, ten minutes left!" She squealed.
"Just enough time for us to get to the building!" Hyerim called out and started to run out the unit, Yeonhee running after her, skipping a little as she couldn't contain her excitement.
"No we're not actually gonna do that are we?" Jae Eun asked, catching up with the girls as they got into the car, Hyerim getting into the drivers seat.
"Of course we are! We're gonna make the most of this free ammunition." Hyerim commented and started the engine. Jae Eun quickly jumped into the back of the car and it sped down into the main city.
"You always complain to is about wasting out ammunition every mission, you should be happy we're being resourceful Ace." Yeonhee commented, not sounding impressed at all.
"Well this is a little different." He muttered.
Hyerim sped around every corner and drove through every red light, nearly causing a crash every minute. It took them 8 minutes to get to the building and by now Jae Eun was panicking. So much was running through his head.
The whole building will explode as its a powerful bomb. It's a 20 story building and will will collapse. The building is located in the centre of Seoul. The rubble will kill people in the streets and everyone inside the actual building.
Everything about this could go so wrong and that's what worries him. He likes to plan things out, where as Yeonhee and Hyerim are very 'in the moment' and like to improvise.
They all ran out the illegally parked car and up to the building. Yeonhee looked down at the compact bomb.
"We've got like, a minute." She said calmly. "Who wants to throw it?" She asked.
"Ace should." Hyerim decided. Jae Eun shot her a confused glance.
"What? Why?!" He asked.
"Because you've got good aim. You're a sniper guy!" She explained happily, taking the bomb from Yeonhee's hands and shoved it into Jae Eun's. He looked down at it in shock as he saw the seconds tick down.
"Just throw it! They have a balcony type thing there-" Yeonhee instructed and pointed at a small ledge halfway between the ground and the second floor. "You should be able to throw it that high." She said and smiled at him in encouragement.
"I- no pressure or anything." Jae Eun stuttered. He hates having so much pressure on him and so little time to prepare.
"Look, like this." Hyerim said and pulled out a grenade from her pocket. Jae Eun looked stunned as she bit off the ring and threw it up and onto the balcony. The innocent passerby's gasped and ran past her as they saw what she just did. "Do that! Quickly it's gonna blow in... 20 seconds." She said in a teasing voice.
Jae Eun panicked and held the bomb in one hand, positioning his stance to throw it at the target. He took a deep breath before launching it at the building. It landed perfectly next to Hyerim's grenade.
"Fucking run! It's gonna blow!" Hyerim yelled and started to run in the direction of the car. She was glad she's the fastest member of Malevolent as she can get to the drivers seat way before the others.
Jae Eun froze as he watched terrified civilians run for their lives. Yeonhee grabbed his arm and tried to make him run to the car.
When he came back to his senses he started to run too.
The building exploded loudly and Yeonhee and Jae Eun ducked instinctively, pieces of the building flying past them as they didn't get far enough away from it.
The building started to fall down in the direction of the running pair. Yeonhee glanced back and saw a falling bit of the tower heading straight for them. Her eyes widened and adrenaline started to pump through her veins, her fight or flight instincts kicking in. Her desire to run away from the danger taking over.
"Run!" She screamed at Jae Eun. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, the creaking metal of the falling building getting louder encouraged her. Looking back she saw Jae Eun lagging behind her slightly and she wanted desperately to help him but she knew if she slowed down she would panic and then it would all go to shit.
Glass started to rain around then, scratching the two as they ran for their lives. They both ignored the scratches, as what are little scratches compared to life?
A metal beam fell down quickly and crashed beside Yeonhee, making her scream in shock.
"Keep running Yoshi!" She heard Jae Eun yell behind her. "You're nearly there!"
She wanted to say the same to him but she didn't want to waste her breath as her legs were aching so badly, she needed all the energy she could have.
She could see Hyerim who is the fastest person she knows sitting in the car, the doors open and she was waving for them to get in. The look on her face made Yeonhee's heart sink as Hyerim's face dropped and her mouth fell open. Her eyes following what looks like something falling.
"Watch out!" She screamed.
All Yeonhee heard was the ear piercing screech of metal on metal. The deep groan of it as it fell down closer to earth, crashing to the ground, shaking it violently.
Yeonhee screamed and Jae Eun yelled as they were taken off heir feet by the violent tremor caused the by metal beam falling to the ground near them.
Yeonhee winced as she fell, landing onto the large shards of glass, causing it to pierce her skin. She lifted her front off the ground and looked backwards to see Jae Eun on the floor, her eyes focusing on a large piece of glass sticking into his thigh.
"Ace!" She yelled. Her voice becoming strained. He didn't move and panic and worry started to bubble inside her. "Ace! Come on! We've got to go!" She yelled again, her eyes starting to water. He slowly lifted up his head and looked at her with tired eyes. She was about call to him again but another groan of metal interrupted her.
Her eyes looked up and saw as a large section of glass and metal started to peel away from the disintegrating building. It broke away from the main structure and started to fall down. It looked like it would fall right on the two of them. Yeonhee's heart started to beat fast and she wanted to run away, run as fast as her injured legs would carry her.
She pulled herself up, ignoring the feeling of the glass stabbing her whole body and reached out for Ace as she tried to stand up properly.
"Ace come on!" She yelled at him desperately, hopping towards the car that seemed to be miles away. Jae Eun looked up and tried to get to his feet, managing to move towards her a little bit before his leg buckled underneath him.
Yeonhee limped as fast as she could toward Hyerim who was too far away, she knew she wouldn't reach her but had to at least try.
"No!" Hyerim screamed in a way that Yeonhee had never heard before, and it terrified her.
She glanced up and saw the side of the building falling towards them. The glass breaking apart as it fell and the metal spreading out.
Yeonhee screamed again before the metal and glass engulfed them.
Hyerim watched in horror and jumped out the car. She would have run to them but stopped hesitantly as the building continued to collapse around where her two friends were.
She couldn't see them anymore, large metal beams and large chunks of glass obstructed her view.
"No no no no!" She yelled and knotted her fingers in her hair.
She didn't know what to do.
