"Take a seat." The man said.
Sohee and Kai Ling didn't wait for him to say anything else and went straight to the familiar seats and sat down. They sat so Kai Ling was at the end of the table and Sohee was to her left. Taeyang and Min Seol followed after them.
"You brought friends." The man stated, smiling and gesturing to Taeyang and Min Seol who were seating themselves down in the remaining free seats.
"So did you." Kai Ling replied, gesturing to the two new people she'd never seen before sitting next to him. The man chuckled deeply and nodded.
"What did you want to talk to us about?" Sohee asked, her voice light but serious.
"Well, I've heard about your little 'situation', you could call it." The man explained, flipping open a black book in front of him. "We've also heard about what you've been doing in this city the past few months. Where do I even start?" He muttered, flicking though and stopping on a page. He pointed to the words written down under certain dates. "Here we have that you had one of your units destroyed. Then you demolished a pretty big office tower, followed by you then damaging airport property. Somehow since then you've just gotten more destructive, and ended up losing your own office tower and headquarters." He said, closing the book and looking up at the four sat in front of him.
"Your point is..?" Sohee asked after a couple seconds of him staring at them.
"My point is, is that you guys are in a lot of shit right now. A lot. So naturally, doing business with you is very risky."
"But Seung-Hyun-" Kai Ling began to protest.
"-But nothing." He interrupted, his voice deep and loud. "With all of you making a mess of this city and refusing to lay low, then the chances of law enforcement digging into your business is extremely high. If they find the drugs you have that I've supplied, it will all come back to me." He explained, his tone cold and stern. "I shouldn't risk that."
"Shouldn't?" Taeyang spoke up. "So you will still trade with us?" He asked. Seung-Hyun sighed and nodded his head.
"You're my one biggest buyers and I can't really afford to lose you." He said, leaning back in his tall leather chair. "I do however, want to talk prices with you."
"What about prices?" Kai Ling asked, sounding annoyed as it can only really meant one thing.
"Since you can't afford to lose me since no one else will want to trade with you, obviously I want to up my prices." He stated casually.
Taeyang noticed one of the men by Seung-Hyun's side staring at him. He made eye contact and the man quickly averted his gaze. Taeyang didn't like it.
"Up your prices? We're already paying way over what we should be. That can't happen." Kai Ling argued.
"You make more from my drugs than I sell you. You're not going to be losing any money. You need these drugs now more than ever. You're lucky I'm still selling to you." He retorted back.
The man Taeyang is observing adjusted his jacket and Taeyang's eyes caught onto his wrists. A small tattooed mark showing for a second, but a second was all he needed to identify it. He held in a gasp and kept a poker face on.
"You need us also. You said it yourself before, we're your biggest buyers." Kai Ling replied angrily. Her arms gesturing and waving around as her anger made her more lively.
"I didn't say that Zero." Seung-Hyun answered calmly. His darkly lined and fierce eyes pierced into Kai Ling's. "I said you're one of them. I have another company that buys a lot more than you do." He said with a smug tone.
Taeyang looked to Min Seol who was sitting opposite him. She caught his eye and Taeyang subtly motioned towards his wrist. Min Seol's eyes widened for a split second before she gained composure.
"And who's this other company then? Hmm?" Kai Ling questioned. Sohee looked to her nervously, she was getting a little too angry for her liking.
"Confidentiality Zero, you of all people should know about that." He answered with a taunting smile. He motioned to his usual accomplice who handed him a cigarette. He took it and placed it between his lips. "Just a 20% increase in price shouldn't be too much of a problem for you, should it?" He muttered as he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a black lighter. "Compared to your other problems anyway." He added as he got the flame alight and lit the end of his cigarette.
"It is a problem, and you fucking know it is." Kai Ling spat at him. He inhaled and moved the cigarette from his lips with his two fingers, he smiled at her as the smoke escaped his lips.
"Well then I'm sorry but we're going to have to end our deal." He stated, amusement shockingly present in his gravely voice.
Kai Ling opened her mouth to say something but Taeyang spoke before she could argue.
"We don't have a problem with that." He said. Seung-Hyun's face dropped at his words.
"I'm sorry?" He asked in shock.
"We don't have an issue stopping our deal with you." Taeyang repeated. Kai Ling turned and frowned at him.
"Who will you use to supply yourselves?" Seung-Hyun questioned and took another drag of his cigarette.
"Confidentiality, you should know about that shouldn't you?" He answered, smiling at him.
"That just tells me you have no one else to supply you." Seung-Hyun said, smiling too.
"We don't have deals with traitors is all. So I'm not too upset about breaking ours off. I'm sure you understand." Taeyang stated. Seung-Hyun and the other three people with him froze. "Now, we'll be leaving." He said as he stood up from his seat.
Kai Ling and Sohee stared up at him in shock. Min Seol just stayed sitting as she wasn't sure what to do.
"Clever aren't you?" Seung-Hyun commented. "Or observant I should say. Just because you spotted something doesn't mean you're a genius. A genius would know when to point observations out at a time that works to their advantage, not the enemy's." He explained, an open smirk forming on his lips.
Taeyang was already reaching for one of his pistols as one of The Nobodies members pulled their own out and shot at him. Taeyang dodged the bullet narrowly. Sohee's eyes widened and she didn't hesitate to pull out her Ithaca, firing it at the man who shot at Taeyang, hitting him in his chest.
Before Taeyang could shoot another bullet at his other accomplice who pulled out his own gun, Kai Ling grabbed onto his arm and dragged him out the boardroom.
"What are you doing? I had a clear shot on him." Taeyang complained as Kai Ling sprinted down the glass corridor with Taeyang's arm still in her grasp.
"We're in the top floor of a 15 story building. The place is probably teeming with Nobody guys on each floor. Getting out without being killed by them would be great." She explained, anger and annoyance dripping off her tongue. Taeyang saw her point but was still annoyed.
Sohee and Min Seol had followed behind the bickering pair and were sprinting closely behind them.
Taeyang shrugged Kai Ling's grip off his arm and was able to run better. All four of them rushed down the hallways with glass walls, the whole floor visible as there were no solid walls dividing the space. Only glass.
They headed for the closest flight of stairs as the elevator would just be suicide. They jumped down the steps and managed to get three floors down before they started to get shot at from people higher up the stairwell.
Sohee and Taeyang who were now at the back of the running group were just missing the whizzing bullets and darted through the doors that led them to the 12th floor to avoid them. They entered the space and were immediately greeted by a man aiming his gun right at them. Sohee who was at the front noticed and quickly darted to the side and Taeyang ducked as he followed.
They ran down the glass corridor and were about the turn the corner which would have lead to the second flight of stairs, but Sohee could see another man with a gun around the corner through the glass walls.
As she was about to turn the corner she skidded on the slippery marble floor so her body was low and was almost lying down. As she skidded around the corner she held her Ithaca and aimed upwards to where she presumed the man's head would be. As soon as her eyes locked onto him and his gun that was aiming high also, she shot at him. Missing his head but hit him in his throat instead.
The man choked and fell backwards, his blood pooling out and staining the pristine floor.
Sohee looked up and saw Taeyang running, holding out his arm and grabbed onto Sohee's pulling her up quickly to her feet as he ran.
"Is there a faster way down?" Taeyang asked as they practically jumped down the stairs.
"If you're willing to break your legs, then yeah." Sohee joked.
"Running it is then." Taeyang chuckled.
They managed to get down to floor 6 before they started to get shot at again. Sohee groaned in annoyance and again, they both went onto the main floor.
She stopped as soon as she saw the number of Nobody henchmen blocking their path to the other stairwell on the other side of the floor. Thinking quickly she held up her Ithaca and aimed it at the glass walls in front of them. She shot at the glass, causing it to shatter and fall. The workers behind the fragile walls screamed and crouched down, trying to get out the firing line.
She shot all the walls in front of them and ran towards the stairwell. Taeyang shooting the other henchmen that started to shoot at her as they remembered they could shoot through the glass too.
Sohee was close to the stairwell when a big guy jumped in front of her and tried to hit her over the head with his pistol. She ducked and dodged the attempted hit, standing up straight quickly and slammed her own gun against the man's temple. He groaned and stumbled to the side as he was hit and Sohee shoved him so his back was leaning on the glass window. She held up her gun and shot at the window, making it crack as it was a plastic fused window. At the same time, she kicked the man on his torso. The window started to bend and eventually broke under the weight of the man and the pressure given by Sohee's kick. The yells of the man as he fell to the ground could be heard all down the streets.
Sohee would have looked down to see the damage but Taeyang grabbed her wrist and rushed them down the stairs as they were being shot at.
Firing at those aiming at them, they finally reached the bottom floor and ran out to the car. Kai Ling and Min Seol weren't there yet so they decided to wait for them since the car was bullet proof. They sat there and caught their breaths. Sohee laughed as she replayed everything through her head. It's been a while since she's done something like that, and she's missed it.
________
(This is happening the same time that Sohee and Taeyang were escaping too.)
Min Seol looked behind her and couldn't see Taeyang and Sohee. The sound of bullets pinging off and hitting the glass walls of the stairwell made her realise why they weren't there.
"Shit." She heard Kai Ling say as she saw a Nobody guy lower down the stair case and aiming up at them. "Quick." She said and went onto the main floor of level 8.
Min Seol could hear the footsteps of the henchmen running up the stairs and started to panic slightly. Kai Ling spotted the second stairwell and started to head in its direction.
Min Seol looked behind her and saw the frosted glass doors open, The Nobody henchmen running in. She started to run as fast as she could in her painful heels and grabbed small square patches from her jacket pocket. She ripped the small tags off one off of the sides on two of them and placed them on the sides of all the door frames as she ran through them.
Hearing an agonised cry behind her she glanced back and saw one of the men spasming on the floor as he had been electrocuted. She sighed with relief as she wasn't sure the patches worked since they were prototypes she'd been working on.
More cries were heard as the others were being electrocuted by the lethal stickers.
Kai Ling waited for her by the stairs and smirked as she saw Min Seol's inventions shocking the men chasing them.
"Nice one Sunny." She said before they ran down more stairs.
There were no henchmen following them but Kai Ling stopped suddenly as a bullet went through the glass walls of floor 6, whizzing past them. She looked and saw two familiar figures shooting there. Shaking her head they carried on going down the stairs.
They went down to floor 4 when Min Seol was grabbed by a strong grip and pulled from the stairs. She let out a squeal which made Kai Ling turn around and saw her disappear from her view quickly.
"Sunny?" She called and ran back up the steps. She froze as she saw Min Seol with a gun pressed against her temple and a strong arm wrapped around her neck. The owner of the gun smirking at Kai Ling as she stared in horror.
"Now now. Don't be too hasty." Kyungil warned as he held Min Seol still, as she squirmed in his tight grip. "I don't wanna shoot you Zero." He smiled.
"What do you want?" She asked quickly. Her mind racing with ways to free Min Seol, but each one ended up with Kyungil dead which was a no-no.
"I just want to send a message to Zeno." He replied lightly. He was about to say something else when a body falling past the window distracted them, making Kyungil let out a sudden burst of laughter. "Looks like little Wolf and the cutie are making quite a war zone up there." He chuckled.
"What message?" Kai Ling asked quickly, she hated this situation as she couldn't do anything to help.
Kyungil smiled and lowered his head so his lips were right next to Min Seol's ear. He started to whisper into her ear, looking up at Kai Ling as he finished his message. Min Seol nodded, making the gun pressed against her head move too.
"Good. Now pass that along dear Sunny." He said playfully, before lowering the gun and pushed Min Seol towards Kai Ling who protectively grabbed her arm. "And if that message doesn't get passed along then-" He started to threaten and quickly pointed the gun to Sunny and shot at her. She cried out and fell into Kai Ling's hold as he shot her in her thigh. "expect a lot worse than that. You could say that a tiny taster of what will happen." He grinned sinisterly.
"You're lucky we can't kill you." Kai Ling spat at him as she wrapped an arm around Min Seol who was whimpering at the immense pain in her leg. Kyungil just hummed at her words in amusement.
"It's cute that you think you could kill me." Was the last thing he said before he turned and walked away from the pair.
Kai Ling grunted as she helped Min Seol down the stairs and out the building. They hobbled towards the car and saw Sohee and Taeyang rush out and help her take Min Seol to the car. When they were all in Taeyang started the engine and quickly drove to the casino.
"What the fuck happened?!" He asked, glancing at Min Seol through the rear view mirror as she applied pressure to the wound with her hands.
"Kyungil wanted to pass on a message, that's what." Kai Ling growled. She really despised that man for so many reasons.
________
Kyungil stepped out the elevator onto the top floor. He ran a hand through his hair as he approached Seung-Hyun's office doors that were now decorated with bullet holes. He walked in and saw Seung-Hyun sitting on the table, messing with the glass shards on his damaged table.
"Look what they've done to my boardroom." He mumbled, a cigarette burning between his lips.
"A small price to pay for what's about to come I would say." Kyungil commented as he sat down at the other end of the table. "It was worth it."
"Oh really? Money wise?" Seung-Hyun asked loudly and looked up at the calm looking Kyungil. He shook his head. "Well who's gonna buy me a new fucking table?" He grumbled.
"So materialistic aren't you?" Kyungil chuckled.
"I like my furniture." He commented before taking a drag of his cigarette and moved it from his lips. "What was the point of this?" He asked angrily, blowing the smoke out of his nostrils.
"Oh it's just the start of my grand scheme." Kyungil grinned and spun around in the office chair. "Revenge is a beautiful thing."
"So is my furniture, but even that can get ruined by unpredictable psychopaths with guns."
