ROLE: The Maid
NAME: Poppy Frinton
NICKNAME: "Poppet", by her mother
AGE: 19
GENDER: Female
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
FACECLAIM: (Past life = Kim Go-eun, Isekai = Megumi, Food Wars)
||PERSONALITY||
Self-proclaimed idealist and hopeless romantic, Hye-min would have gladly devoted herself to the beautiful things in life. She was entertaining to be around because she was lively and passionate, though this passion was never directed toward a single thing. In many ways, she was a perfectly average high school girl.
||STRENGTHS||
Despite being overshadowed by boy-prodigy Kevin Lee in her grade, Hye-min had a knack for painting. She was a keen observer, and her color choices were always bold but harmonious.
||WEAKNESSES||
Her optimism was so strong it sometimes came off as insensitive. When her friend's dog died, Hye-min comforted her by patting her on the back and saying, "It's alright, there are plenty of other dogs out there!"
||HOBBIES||
After school she'd hop on her computer and spend an hour or two on online chatrooms. She read graphic novels and romances in her free time, and sometimes met up with a few friends at a local cafe, complaining to them about her bad luck with love.
||HOW THEY DIED||
In hindsight, she probably shouldn't have been driving in her emotional state. Rainy day, low visibility, and a drunk man in a red pickup careening towards her car, T-boning it. Both drivers were found dead— hopefully he wasn't isekaied too.
||FINAL WISH||
"Please, if there's any God out there, let me have one more chance at love! Just one more, I need to make things right!"
||FAMILY||
In her past life she had a brother much older than her. In her new one, she's an only child.
||BACKSTORY||
Kim Hye-min
"The only girl in the whole school who graduated without a date! I'm the only one!" This was not true, but she wailed this until her friends were exasperated. On the first day of university, Hye-min stepped into the art studio and met the love of her short life. After a heart-felt confession behind the school they began dating. It was wonderful. She was infatuated, and was convinced they would marry.
One night, as they were having dinner out in the city, a fight ensued. Over what Hye-min couldn't even remember, but it escalated so quickly that he blurted out he was seeing someone else. Heartbroken, she rushed out of the restaurant. You know the rest.
Poppy Frinton
For as long as Poppy could remember, her mother was a maid of some noble or other. Her mother worked hard and cleaned well, so the nobles usually allowed Poppy to tag along, so long as she kept quiet and behaved. Poppy went to the local children's school bragging that she lived in a castle. (She did not mention it was a single room in the maids' quarters.)
On the summer of her nineteenth year, as Poppy was studying hard to pursue a higher education, her mother fell terribly ill and could no longer work. Poppy dutifully took her mother's position as maid so they could remain living in the castle together.
By chance, the Marquis's son was to inherit the title that summer. A new title certainly meant servants accompanied it. The heir was rumored to be a difficult and monstrous man, and so the other maids assigned poor Poppy, the rookie, to him.
||WHY THEY READ THE BOOKS||
Oh, Hye-Min was obsessed with Roses and Romance. She used her Christmas money to buy a volume of the fancy cloth-bound edition, and followed quite a few fan-blogs. To her, the series was the epitome of what love should be: passionate, scandalous, and above all, dramatic.
||FAVORITE CHARACTER||
The second novel was her favorite, but for the longest time she had a horrible crush on the foreign prince.
|| PLANS FOR NEW LIFE||
To find her true love and live happily ever after. Er, that was why she was reincarnated, wasn't it? She's convinced it's a sure sign from the universe.
