So start thinking!!
Previously....
"Lets put him in this cell." Ms. O decided. She kicked down the door and we were all shocked with what we saw inside. Chained up to the wall and knocked out, we gasped at who was there.
"Another Todd?" Olympia whispered.
.............
Olives POV
"Wha- how -" I stuttered, taken aback. There laid my expartner, unconscious.
"Did he clone himself?" Otto asked.
"I guess so. The day he left Odd Squad for good, the cloneinator went missing. We all figured that Todd stole it."
"Well, how would we tell which Todd is real and which ones fake?" Ms. O asked. Oscar stood up, adressing us.
"Well when he stole the gadget, it was in for a repair because it was glitchy. Its proton electron ratio when it powered up was way off balance." Oscar rambled.
"So what does that mean?" Olympia inquired, curiously.
"Well since the balance was off, any time you'd power it up, it would send an electrical surge through your body, leaving a permanent scar on whatever body part you used to fire up the gadget."
We all understood where he was going.
"Todd is left handed!" I exclaimed. I bent down to the Todd who we had just found and unfolded the fist he had made. I took a deep breath when I found a scar that stretched from his thumb to his pinky.
"This is Todd." I whispered.
We all were kind of shaken up. Todd wasn't the one who had hurt Olympia? It was just his glitchy double all along! I checked for a pulse on his wrist, I found it, but it was faint.
"Olympia?" I started. "Show me where the healing tree is." I begged.
She nodded.
"It will work, because we were partners - right?" I asked, twitching my fingers nervously.
Olympia nodded. "It should."
"Its time for me to help Todd. Its time for me to forgive."
I hoisted Todd up on my back and Olympia led me away from the rest of the group, towards the healing tree. Once we reached a certain point, she stopped. Pointing to an old, twisted tree.
"You have to go alone from here. When you set him down, say:
"Fill these lungs
With strength,
With courage
With glorious guidance
Of universal mystery
For it is the breath of life
The breath of freedom
For your voice can sing
To change the world."
"Okay." I sighed. Olympia left and I carried Todd the rest of the way, laying him on the grass by the tree.
"Fill these lungs
With strength,
With - with courage! Yeah, courage.."
I wracked my brain trying to find the words.
"With glorious guidance
Of universal mystery
For it is the breath of life" uuggh!! What comes next???
"The breath - the breath of freedom
For my- uh, your voice can sing
To make - no, change the world."
After I was done citing the verse, I wondered if it worked or not. After all, I had messed up quite a few times. All of a sudden a bright light shot out from the large knot in the old brown tree. It dipped down and absorbed into his torn clothing, a peaceful look on his face. It was then that I began to wonder.
Was it Todd who did all those terrible things to Otis and Olympia on our last adventure? Could it be that this clone of Todd was the one who harmed them all along?
The light faded away and I waited for him to wake up. It never happened, even after 15 minutes or so.
I bent down to check for a pulse, there was but it was just as weak as before.
"Olive!" Otto yelled from across the distance. "Its time to go." He told me.
Turning my back from my expartner, I walked away from him and joined the others. I kind of wished that he would have woken up, then we could have found out who was really behind all of the violent schemes. As we let the green mist surround us in the portal room, I accepted the fact that we probably would never know. Would we?
Nobody's POV
The Old Willow tree stood in silence, its branches occasionally chasing the breeze. It was finally calm and peaceful in Olympia's world.
Thump.
Went a foot.
Thump.
Goes another.
The old willow tree was now not the only thing standing enjoying the breeze.
"Heeheheehaaaa!!!!"
