We were all pretty excited

Even Daddy

And she was happy!!!

But then...

I think that she knew along that in the end we would be

We didn't know if it would be a boy or girl

I wanted it to be a girl

But let's not forget

I was (am and will forever be) spoiled

I told her that since I wasn't going to be the baby anymore I wanted to remain the only boy

She reassured me that I would always be her baby no matter what and that I would be the only big brother

She would read to the baby and sing nursery rhymes

I asked her why

She said that she had done it with all of us

To let us know that we were loved

The day she was born

There was sooo much excitement

We gone to church and had had dinner

We were getting read to go to Big Mama's and make our rounds when all of a sudden Mama yelled "It's time!!!"

So we were left home

And right before my bedtime Daddy called a d told us that we had a little sister

I couldn't have been any happier

Back then a child had to be at least 12 to go into a patient's room so I was the last to see her

And she squeezed my finger as if she wasn't going to let go

She was my first baby
