We were out for an afternoon..

It was steamy hot...

Mama was carrying the baby...

I am surprised that she ever learned to walk the way we all babied her...

I looked and Mama had lagged back...

I could tell that she wasn't feeling good at all...

Mama are you all right???

Come get your sister, she's getting heavy and it's hot!!!

When we got to a shady spot I said let's sit down and rest Mama...

When she agreed I knew that something was really wrong...

She was the one who always pushed us to go farther, faster, longer...

She couldn't seem to catch her breath...

I panicked...

Because I had never seen her like this before...

She instantly did what she always had done...

She took my hand reassuring me that everything was going to be fine...

Telling me how wonderful it was that she knew we would able to take care of Pat...

It was then that I found out that she was sick...

While we watched my little sister play on the playground I talked and cried with my best friend...

                Mama!!!
