The Insomniac
Anyone out there who knows of these things may be now watching night progress into the light of day...
The dim glow of some screen...
Be it the TV, your smart phone, or so other hand held device...
Night sounds...
Be they the annoying chirp of crickets, the irritating bark of the neighbors dog or haunting sound of train whistles in the distance (or your back yard if you were me), someone breathing as they enjoy a good night's sleep (a sound that I rarely hear)...
Techniques to induce the so elusive sleep...
Maybe those pills, which I so hate, with their side effects that are worse than no sleep!!! Turning everything off that my produce light and or sound (with the exception of those night sounds and street lights that we just can't control)... Counting sheep or whatever because nothing seems to help get to sleep...
I have suffered with my sleep disorders for so long that I now see them as just normal life for me now...
I have chronic insomnia, sleep apnea and RLS (restless leg syndrome)...
When my body does just shut down, the sleep is not good...
The nightmares and sweats. The tossing and turning. The fights, that's right, sleep fights that really drive me crazy...
So I do what I do... Rest much and sleep little. Sometimes I write. Still others I just read...
If you too suffer sleep disorders please follow your doctors advice if you can...
But do get your rest when unable to sleep...
