Cali tended to keep to herself. It wasn't that she didn't like people . In fact, she was rather kind. She just felt... awkward around people sometimes. Either not knowing ehat to say, not knowing how to phrase her thoughts or not having the courage to.

Today was her first day of school. No, it wasn't the beginning of the year. It was her first day. Up until today, Calihad been homeschooled. Now, in the middle of her 10th grade year, the shy girl found herself stressed from her new surroundings

Lunch eventually came, Cali sitting at the end of one of the tables, in a chair that nobody was sitting next to. She reached in her bag to find her lunch missing. Looking around, she spotted a boy anr his friend laughing with eachother, a familiar paper bag with a name that was surely not theirs on it

Sighing, she looked further in until she found the only remainging item: a chocolate bar. She slowly opened it and went to take a bite when she noticed someone sit next to her. Turning, she saw that he was staring intensely at her. Something about that look made her... uncomfortable?

She began to blush lightly, feeling like he was staring into her soul. But after a few seconds the girl realized that he wasn't looking at her. He was looking at her food. With a small smile, a bit forced, she offered it to him

Blinking, the black haired boy eyes it. "You sure...?" he muttered, lookingat her. She nodded, her smile growing a bit. He scanned the table, furrowing his eyebrows. "Where's the rest of your food?" She shrugged, looking down. "I ate it..." Cali said lowly. He gave her a suspicious look before smiling and accepting it

"Thanks" She looked at him as he said it, a smile on his face. She shook hwe head. "No problem" He then took out a bag, causing Cali to blink a bit at the sight. "I just wanted something small. I'm not really hungry... you want this?" She blinked once again, stunned into silence. "Are... you sure?" He nodded, a smile from ear to ear on his face

She graciously took it, the boy biting into the chocolate. "My name's Zane" he stated. She swallowed before responding with a low "Cali" He smiled, chuckling a bit. "It's a beautiful name" Cali blushed at his words, continuing to eat. He did the same after uttering one last sentence

"It's a pleasure to meet you, friend"
