She actually had another brother, a twin by the name of Luca. They were outside one day when they were six, playing around. Luca was the more curious out of the two, he decided that they should go into the forest. Laiklynn happily obliged and followed him, little did they know that a witch had been watching them. After a few minutes someone noticed they were gone and started searching for them. Laiklynn had stumbled from the forest looking dazed and confused, she felt like She was forgetting something but didn't know what exactly. It turned out tha the witch casted a spell on her to make her forget her brother and they did the same to Luca. A few years later the met again when Laiklynn was on a walk to find blue berries. She turned around and there he was, they stared at each other before turning and running back the way they had come. Now she goes out searching for him whenever she gets the chance.
