APPEARANCE: Meilin has black hair and grey-green eyes.  She looks plain and keeps her hair tied back in a simple braid.  With her, she carries a leather satchel and a water gourd.  Few coins are left in her supplies.

PERSONALITY: Meilin is an perceiver, liking to keep all her option open when it comes to trouble. She likes it when she has the ability to be spontaneous and is flexible when making plans. Meilin struggles with the decision to hate the fire nation because even though her father was kind, the Fire Nation was directly responsible for the death of her mother and the loss of her farm.

-Tai Sun (he and Meilin grew up together in Ba Sing Se. They were always sweet in each other as kids and their farms were next to each other. After the Fire Nation destroyed the agrarian wall, Tai Sun joined the Earth kingdom army.)

BACKSTORY: Meilin comes from one of the oldest fire nation colonies, Yu Dwi. Her father is a retired fire nation soldier (put out of action due to an injury) and her mother is an non-bender from the Earth Kingdom. When she was ten, her family moved to Ba Sing Se's outer ring to farm. 

Because her father was originally from the Fire Nation, he was murdered by tows folk not long after they arrived when they realized his ethnicity. The Fire Nation's Drill destroyed her farm and killed her mother, so Meilin decided to take her destiny into her own hands and travel around the Earth Kingdom in search for one of the Air Temples-- rumor has it that there's a safe place for refugees in one of them. She doesn't have much practice for Earthbending and hopes to find a teacher.
