Backstory: Red Diamond is a very overcooked diamond. She was made about one thousand years after Pink was made. Shortly after she popped out of her hole, Pink Diamond found her in the Kindergarten and brought her to the rest of the diamonds. The diamonds were... shocked by how tiny Red turned out to be, but still accepted her as part of the family. But it wasn't too long when she was caught into a heated argument between White, Blue, and Yellow. Red tried to play the peacemaker and tried to break down the fight, but that only resulted to White attacking her with one of her powers, causing a large crack to form on her left eye. Ever since then, she's been more cautious of her appearance and tries to hide her face and body the best she can and doubting herself, thinking that she'll never be a good leader because of how she looked and act.

But after many years, Red soon became attached to three certain gems. First, a different and "defective" Ruby from Yellow's colony that Red saved from getting shattered. Then, a rebellious (and attractive) Lapis Lazuli from Blue's court, who Red volunteered to take her in when Blue was thinking of getting rid of her. And lastly, a Pink Sapphire that was given to her by Pink as a gift. The four became practically attached to the hip over the many years of them being together. And Red Diamond started to think that maybe, just maybe, she's capable of becoming a great leader, after some reassurance and convincing from her friends of course.

But sadly, that all changed during the Gem War. Red along with her the companions was there during Pink Diamond's shattering. She saw it happen right before her very eyes (or eye in her case). And after they were told to evacuate the planet immediately, the four gems tried to get to their ship, but it was too late.

The diamonds were already starting their attack on the planet and Red Diamond knew that they wouldn't make it in time. So she quickly formed a protective barrier only big enough to protect herself and grabbed her Ruby and Azulie before she tried to grab for Pinkie, but it was too late. The attack was blasted and Pinkie was unfortunately caught in it.

But it doesn't stop there.

Holding up the protective barrier was mentally damaging Red. And after holding up the barrier for so long once the attack ended, she collapsed. Before she woke up, the group was already found by the remaining Crystal Gems.

Afraid and worried about their diamond, Lil' Ruby and Azulie begged to be spared and for them to help their injured Diamond/friend. Fortunately, the Crystal Gems agreed to help them and lead them back to their base.

After many weeks, Red Diamond finally woke up much to everyone's relief. But there was just one more problem. Red Diamond couldn't remember anything from her past. All of her memories were gone. The diamonds. The war. Even her friends. Those memories were all gone. Much to Ruby's and Azulie's dismay. But after that, everything started to turn for the good. The Crystal Gems welcomed the new gems in like a family. And even with her old memories gone, she was still able to remain close to her old friends and start a new, clean slate for all of them.

Backstory: Azulie was always known as a troublemaker from the moment she was made. She would always pull pranks and cause some mischief on just almost anyone around her. For guards, she'll put glue (or anything sticky) on their weapons or put a funny sign on their backs. For snobby gems, she'll dump water on them and blame it on someone else. There was even a time when Azulie shape-shifted into Blue Diamond's Pearl and pretended to be her for a whole day until she was caught. That was the last straw for Blue Diamond. She was thinking that she should shatter her right then and there. But Red Diamond stepped in and volunteers to take her in instead, much to everyone's surprise. After many convincing, Blue finally agrees and gave Azulie to Red. She was a bit sceptical at first, but not too long, Red and Azulie became very close to each other and even grown a slow growing crush after many years.
And of course, she was very sad for losing both their friend Pinkie and Red's memories during the diamond attack. But even with her memories of her gone, they both were still able to reform a new friendship and start a new clean slate.

Backstory: Ruby was classified as defective as soon as she was made. Yellow Diamond was about to shatter her, until Red Diamond steps in and asks if she could have her instead. Yellow Diamond wasn't sure about this. But after countless of begging, she gave in and reluctantly gave Lil' Ruby to Red. Ruby was entirely grateful to Red and made a vow to protect and be with her for as long as she lives. Admittedly, she was a bit jealous of Azulie at first when she first joined the group since she thought that she would be the only one she saved. But after some time, and many pranks played by Azulie, later, they became close friends. With both promising to protect Red together. After many years, a Pink Sapphire named Pinkie joined the group. And at first glance, Lil' Ruby had fallen head over heels for the pink gem. After many attempts to try to confess her love to her, she finally decided to confess to her.

But... The day she decided to confess to Pinkie, was also the day Pink Diamond was shattered... And everything turned to chaos after that...

Pinkie fell victim to the attack and Red Diamond had lost her memories while trying to protect herself and Azulie. Poor Lil' Ruby fell into a long state of depression after that. She mourned for many many days, until she was finally able to accept the fact that Pinkie was gone. But she still has her Diamond by her side, even without her memories. Red Diamond is still Red Diamond. But, a new Red Diamond that doesn't even know what or who she was meant to be. But she was okay with that.

Or at least... That's what she keeps telling everyone...
