I looked at the glass of water I had kept on my nightstand. For some reason it's glowing, but that's fine with me.

I took a deep breath and started controlling the water with my mind. I don't know how I really do it but I just do. It didn't take too much strength or energy from me; it just came to me.

With the movement of my hand, the water swirled and I focused on it.

Wherever I moved my hand, the water followed.

That's when my door opened and I lost my concentration, causing the water to fall on my lap.

It was Isabelle.

"What?" I asked her.

Her face was pale. "Did you hear that too?"

"Hear what?" I was nervous now. What did she mean? Was she talking about the "storm's arising" thingy?

That's when we heard a boom of thunder and she jumped, squealing.

"THAT!"

"That's thunder, Isabelle."

"It's scary!"

I think I know where I got my fear of thunderstorms from.

My grandma!

No, I'm just kidding, I think we both just have it in our... genes. I guess.

Look, I don't know!

I sighed and put out my arms, and she ran into them and buried her face in my shoulder. She was kinda acting like a little kid, but I let her hug me because this was the one thing I understood with her. Thunderstorms are scary.

I don't know what spirit possessed her, really, but she never hugged me and this was a bit comfy, so I let her do it.

That's when I realized she was sleeping, because she started snoring, and she was even drooling on my shirt.

"Ew, Iz." I whispered to her, holding her off of me and wiping the drool off.

I laid her down on my bed and wrapped her in my covers and then laid down next to her.

And pretty soon, I began falling asleep too.
