Hard Hitting

"I swear, if I hear you two fucking one more time I will dunk feathers in the sea until she thinks more about how sick it makes her rather than your cock." Kid snarled, glaring at Killer.

It'd only been a few weeks since you'd started having more intimate relations with him, but he proved to be an adamant lover. He'd taken you quite a few nights and occasionally in the mornings, still insisting on drawing any and every noise he could out of you. You tried suggesting being a little more quiet but he retaliated by doing things that only made you louder. Maybe he'd listen now that it was pissing Kid off.

"We'll work on that." Killer said, a slight amused tone to his voice.

"You better, don't think I won't do it." Your captain glanced at you, looking ready to follow through with his promise.

"Yeah I'd like to avoid that." You rolled your eyes, picking up dinner dishes from the table full of the higher ranked crew.

Kid shoved his plate at you while Heat and Wire were a little more polite about handing them over. You didn't need to clean up after them but it was something nice to do. Your Captain's attitude made you a little less willing to do it though. His frustration was understandable but Killer and you already agreed to work on it. There was no need for the animosity.

You let out a huff but held your tongue. Any snarky comment made would be met with an equally bad attitude from him and he was already in a mood as it was, pushing him wouldn't be a good idea. You'd seen too many other people do that and didn't like how things turned out for them. Those that weren't part of the crew that gave him too much shit found themselves in his personal torture room. He wouldn't go that far with you but still, it wouldn't be smart to test him.

You marched to the kitchen, arms full of dirty dishes. Though you were the newest member of the crew, you weren't the bottom of the totem pole. So luckily things like cleaning dishes wasn't your job. You were able to set them in the large sink and leave them for someone else to do. When you turned to leave, you were met with Killer's broad chest.

"I was coming right back out."

He ran a hand through your hair, twirling a few (h/c) strands between his fingers thoughtfully. "I want to try something tonight."

"What happened to toning it down so I don't get dunked?" You put your hands on your hips and raised a brow at him. Sea water and you didn't mix for obvious reasons, not to mention it wasn't good for your feathers.

"Don't worry," He got close enough to feel the mask press lightly into your cheek. "We can keep it down."

His fingers brushed against your lips as he pulled away and left the kitchen. Killer would probably always be a bit of a mystery to you, but that was part of his charm.

----

You'd beat Killer back to his room and decided to take a shower before he got back from whatever he was doing. Originally you were going to make it a quick one but the warm water was too inviting to cut short. You ended up taking your time and relaxing in the shower long after you were clean. He always found it funny that you'd be willing to stay in long enough that your wings would be too wet to use properly sometimes but it's not like you had to fly all the time. And if you were doing it right before bed it wasn't really an issue, they'd dry off long before you'd ever need to use them.

You got out and gave your wings a small shake, getting some of the water off of them. It wasn't really necessary, but you wrapped a towel around yourself after drying off and headed back into the room. As far as you knew, no one else really came into Killer's room besides you but you weren't interested in risking someone else seeing you naked.

Killer himself was already in the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed with a book in hand, mask sitting on the end table. You didn't approve of him reading in the dim light provided by the single bedside lamp, he was going to ruin his eyes. With a smile tugging at your lips, you wiggled your way in between his legs and took the book, making sure to mark his page before setting it beside his mask.

"You should wait till you have better lighting to be reading."

"I was waiting for you." His chest rumbled against you as he pulled you closer, fingers tugging open the towel.

"Of course you were." You rolled your eyes but couldn't fight the giggle he got from you as he nibbled along your jaw.

It baffled you that someone as insatiable as him was able to make it on the ship without female company before you came around.

The towel fell to the floor, giving way under Killer's insistent pulling. So much for covering up.

"So what'd you have in mind for us tonight?" You asked as you straddled him instead and wrapped your arms around his neck.

Hands trailed up and down your sides and hips as he took a second to appreciate the view. It wasn't hard to tell he was checking you out under those thick blonde bangs. Not to mention you felt a certain something already beginning to prod at you from the constraints of his pants.

"I was thinking we could-" His husky tone was suddenly drowned out by the sound of something crashing into the ship.

There was the unmistakable sound of wood shattering from an impact as the ship rocked a little harder. You and Killer shared a look before you hopped off of him and began throwing on clothes. You had a pair of jeans on and were in the process of putting on a tank top when he marched out of the room, mask and handguards on.

There were growing shouts from the crew as they scrambled to figure out what hit them and why no one caught the impending danger earlier. Finally dressed, you ran out onto the deck to find a storm brewing and a heavy mist rolling in. As you scanned the horizon you saw the problem. There was a large enemy pirate ship that had gotten close enough to fire a cannon. They had used the cover of the fog to avoid detection and get the jump on Kid. Well it worked.

The ship rocked harder as a volley of cannonballs hit, shredding through the side of it. There was no reason for those to be hitting.

"Captain!" You shouted as you looked for the man. He should've been repelling them back to the enemy.

"Pipe down! I'm on it." He barked as he appeared behind you, eyes alight with fury. He only had his trousers and boots on, telling you he was probably turned in for the night like you and Killer just minutes ago.

With the snap of his fingers and a simple command, he sent the cannonballs embedded in his ship back in the direction of the enemy pirates. Their ship was almost impossible to see now, covered in a thick layer of the fog. But at least a couple of the balls hit, you could hear wood cracking and breaking from the force of it.

"We're taking in water captain!" Wire called from across the deck.

"Well take some men and fix it then!" Kid snarled as his anger grew. It was understandable, the ship had never received a scratch from a fight until now. "Feathers," He turned to you with a cruel smile. "remind them they're stuck here with us, not the other way around."

You nodded as he tossed you a knife from his belt, he sure liked your trick of shredding sails. Your wings were still damp from showering but it wouldn't cause too many problems. The storm that was starting was going to be an issue though. As you took off and started circling the other ship, you could feel the beginnings of raindrops hitting your skin and sails. If you made this quick you could get it done before it came down too hard and made it difficult to fly. At least it should beat down the fog as well.

The first couple sails were torn through easily. The knife Kid gave you was a bit bigger and heavier than you were used to handling but it worked well as you moved on to the main sails. After cutting through the second to last one, the pirates below realized something was going on.

Shots rang out below you and you jerked around to avoid the bullets that sailed close by. You let out a curse as one grazed your right arm, almost making you drop the knife. It was annoying, but you had to get out of sight for a moment before continuing. It'd buy you enough time to finish the job without being riddled with bullet holes.

You dove down and skimmed along the water, using the fog to hide your movements as you circled around for a few short minutes. Once you were sure they were thoroughly confused on your position, you shot back up from a spot you figured they wouldn't expect and ripped the last sail to shreds before diving back down and out of sight.

Now done, you were ready to head back and let Kid know but the rain suddenly started coming down harder, soaking you quickly. Your wings felt heavy and it took more effort to stay airborne. A grimace worked into your features as you fought to get a little farther from the water and get some height.

You didn't think much about your position when you did that until the fog cleared enough for you to see the enemy cannons facing you. Without realizing it, you had flown around in between both the ships. The cannons were lit and you found it was too late to right the mistake. The sound of the rain hitting the ocean muffled the sounds of the large ammunition firing but you could see one cannonball in particular heading right for you.

You tried to twist around and avoid it, only half succeeding. The rain had you moving too slow and you were only able to keep from taking on a direct hit. There was a sickening crack and pain raced through your body as it glanced off your right side and wing. It sent you reeling and to your horror, it left your wing unusable. You tried to move it to no avail as you dropped to the water.

You cried out for help but the rain drowned out the noise. As soon as you hit the water you could feel it draining your energy while you beat against it with a single wing, the other floating on the surface, completely useless. You struggled to stay above water but each breath felt like daggers to your hurt side and it was getting harder to kick the longer you were in it.

It was obvious you were fighting a losing battle and to make matters worse, you were drifting further and further away from the ships. You tried to call out again but your mouth filled with salt water as the waves started dragging you down. With panic beginning to set in, you searched frantically for anything that could help you. And much to your relief, you found something.

In your last effort to keep the ocean from claiming you, you threw yourself at a piece of wood that was nearby. It must have come off one of the ships from the attack. Either way, you'd never been so grateful for a piece of driftwood in your life. You clung to it, coughing up water with your last bit of energy. While you were saved from drowning, there was no way your be able to get back to the ship. It was almost out of sight and your heart ached as you thought about Killer. Did he know you'd fallen to the ocean by now?

You hoped so. You were already beginning to miss him.
