Wooyoung felt amazing. With each heartbeat, he could feel the magic flowing through his body. It gave him strength and the hope he thought he had lost.

He couldn't figure out exactly what it was that did it, but there was something about this place that seemed to have fixed everything.

And being here with San just made things even better.

As he glanced up at his human, Wooyoung tried to think of a human term he had heard Felix use at the beach house.

San must have noticed his deep concentration because he carded a hand through Wooyoung's hair and asked, "What are you thinking about?"

The merman pushed his lips out in a pout. "How to describe being here with you. Something about iced cake?"

"Icing on the cake?"

"Yes! This is cake icing!" Wooyoung sat up and blushed happily at San's bright laughter.

"God, how can you be so adorable, Youngie?"

"I dunno." He shrugged his shoulders and hummed to himself. His eyes started to drift around the tent. Then he bounced in place.

"Are you ok?"

Wooyoung froze, then slapped his hands to his face. "Are we supposed to go to bed now? I'm not tired at all!" And really, how could he even think about sleeping at a time like this?

"Me neither." San sat up as well and bit his lip. "I can't get my mind to turn off. Plus I'm used to staying up all night anyway. Would... Would you like to go for a walk?"

"Sure!" Wooyoung scurried to get out of the tent. He slipped the shoes he had created on and glanced up.

It was like an entirely different world at night. The stars twinkled in the sky and the moon... the moonlight gave everything a gorgeous white glow. Especially the water.

The lake called to Wooyoung, each time the lazy waves lapped at the shoreline it was like a new symphony of sounds.

San joined him a few seconds later, shoes on and carrying one of the blankets under his arm. He laced his fingers with Wooyoung's and pulled him forward.

Soon the crunching of leaves and grass beneath their feet joined the soft water. The moon was bright enough to light their way, peeking through the leaves and teasing them when it vanished occasionally.

"It's so loud but quiet at the same time." Wooyoung said gently, too afraid to speak any louder.

"What do you mean?" San gave him an inquisitive look. "To me this is so peaceful. Just the sounds of the night. It's soothing. Even the insects chirping. It's something that I don't get to hear in the city."

"It's kind of the same for me, only the opposite. There aren't a lot of things that made sound back home. Not constantly like up here. And the city... it's almost overwhelming for me, but I like it! I like everything I've learned about up here."

San tilted his head to the side but didn't say anything. He had a distant look in his eye that Wooyoung didn't quite understand.

They walked in silence for a few more minutes, following the shoreline.

When they came across a relatively clear patch of grass that came almost all the way to the water, San stopped and unfurled the blanket. "Let's stop here." He kicked off his shoes once more and patted the blanket.

Wooyoung was quick to follow, then let out a surprised squeak when San pulled him down so that his back was to the human's chest. "Sannie!" He giggled and tried to scoot away, but San surrounded him with his arms and legs.

"Stay." San whispered against Wooyoung's ears.

The merman froze and felt his cheeks heat up. "This wasn't just a walk, was it?"

"Would that be such a bad thing?" A slight rasp entered San's voice and he hugged Wooyoung tighter. "I wanted you all to myself for a little bit."

Wooyoung could feel himself getting giddy and squirmed in place a little. His mind drifted off to the last time he and San had been alone together at night at this close together. His cheeks flushed and he turned his head so he could look at San. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest.

It beat even harder when San softly traced his chin with his long, delicate fingers. "Woo..." His human whispered, then used his thumb and forefinger to grab Wooyoung's chin and tilt his head so that their lips could meet.

The kiss itself was just a whisper. Their lips barely grazed each other before San's eyes flicked back and forth to study the man before him.

Wooyoung felt frozen in place. The fire he had felt last time was returning, but he didn't know what to make of it. All he knew was that he liked it and he wanted to feel everything again.

San could not get over just how beautiful Wooyoung looked in the moonlight. He had an ethereal glow about him that was just... San couldn't even describe it, but he knew it left him breathless.

He could see the hesitancy and confusion in Wooyoung's eyes after the small kiss. And as much as he wanted to feel the merman's body again, he knew he couldn't push. Although this was why he had brought the blanket.

"Do you want this?" He asked, gently caressing Wooyoung's jaw.

"I do, but..." Wooyoung but the corner of his lip. "Can I ask what this is?"

San's eyes grew wide and he lowered his hand. "I... You don't do anything like this? S-Sex, I mean?" A slight blush crept into his cheeks at the sudden turn of the conversation.

"Sex." Wooyoung tilted his head. "No. No we don't have anything like this. I guess we have something similar? But it only really happens when a mated pair decides they want to have a podling. But that's as close as we get."

"Mated pair, you mean like, you guys get married too?"

Wooyoung laughed nervously and shrugged. "I don't know? For merfolk, we can spend time together as friends, but when two or more decide they want to become a mated pair, we will craft some kind of gift with our magic." His voice started to grow distant and he turned to look out over the lake. "Usually the merman or woman who initiates the request will make a piece of jewelry." San noticed he started to rub his hand back and forth over his right wrist. "Something that matches so that all members they wish to be with will have the same thing."

"That's really special." San said gently. "We do something similar by exchanging rings and vows."

Wooyoung flashed a crooked smile before laying back so his head rested against San's shoulder.

"Did..." San swallowed and started to run his fingers up and down Wooyoung's arms. "Did someone want to be with you? Is that who you wrote to?"

He didn't receive an answer. Instead, Wooyoung blinked a few times and kept staring at the water. The thought of someone else wanting to be with Wooyoung... of someone else waiting for Wooyoung to come home... It hurt, so much.

"I want you more."

San froze. "Wh... What?"

Wooyoung turned his head again and looked at him with a mixture of longing and pain. "I want you more."

There was nothing that could stop San after hearing that. His heart exploded in his chest and he pressed his lips to Wooyoung's once more.

The tiniest of moans came from the merman and it made San wrap an arm around his stomach, teasing at his bare skin while their lips continued to twist together.

Wooyoung lifted a hand up to wrap around San's neck and grab his hair, keeping his head in place as the kiss grew needier.

At one point he tried to turn around, but San wouldn't let him, instead electing to finally slip his hand underneath Wooyoung's shirt to trace his skin. His fingers slid higher and higher, until they found the merman's nipple. He teased it gently, pinching and pulling at hit.

The action made Wooyoung's back arch away from him and he whimpered but didn't break the kiss.

San, however, smirked against the merman's lips and used his legs to pull Wooyoung's apart, stretching them as far as they could.

"What are you-" Wooyoung started to ask, but then he gasped when San's other had drifted down to his crotch and palmed his length. "Sa- AH!!"

"I want you too." San whispered before nibbling at the merman's ear. He loved the way Wooyoung started to squirm against him. "I want to feel your body, like this... just like this... for as long as I can."

"S-Sannie." Wooyoung jerked his hips while trying to close his legs, but San wouldn't let him. He liked having full access like this, especially since Wooyoung didn't have a full understanding as to what was happening.

But San could tell that he liked it.

When he felt Wooyoung's length hardening, he slipped his hand into Wooyoung's pants, chuckling at the fact that he still hadn't figured out the concept of boxers, and started to stroke his length directly.

One thought came to San's mind that might pose a problem tonight, so while he continued to tease the merman, he pressed several kisses along Wooyoung's neck before whispering, "How's the magic level?"

"F-Fine." Wooyoung groaned. "But I-"

"Do you think you could create something called lube? We are going to need it if you want to go any further." San almost felt weird for asking, but he kept his voice low and seductive. He was rewarded with goosebumps littering Wooyoung's skin.

A flash of light came from his right and they both looked down to see a small bottle sitting on the blanket. "Is that it?" Wooyoung asked with a breathy voice.

San answered him by flipping them over quickly and pinning him to the blanket.

They both worked quickly to shed their clothes, setting them aside and pausing to admire each other in the moonlight.

Right now, San felt like there would never be a more perfect picture than seeing Wooyoung stretched out below him with his skin looking milky and perfect in the moonlight.

Wooyoung batted his long, beautiful eyelashes a few times, drawing San in for another kiss.

Then their bodies pressed together, meshing as if they were two pieces of one puzzle. Soon San was using the lube to stretch Wooyoung out, whispering to him gently or kissing him through it. He wanted nothing more than to make the merman feel amazing.

The fact that Wooyoung trusted him with something he had no understanding of made San's heart soar. He tried to convey those feelings through every kiss... every touch... every murmur against his skin.

And when he finally started to thrust into the merman, he kept that as slow and passionate as he could too.

There was hardly a time that they weren't kissing some part of each other skin. Wooyoung even grew a little brave and nipped at San's collarbone a couple of times, making him gasp in surprise.

It was a beautiful moment shared between the two of them as San slowly rolled his hips, savoring the drag of his length against Wooyoung's walls.

And he knew the true meaning of it. San knew from the first moment he saw Wooyoung in the tank, or when he rescued Wooyoung from the aquarium, and especially when he saw Wooyoung in the moonlight tonight.

In this moment, he was pouring every ounce of love he held from Wooyoung into each careful move. He wanted to show it all.

He needed to show it all.

After they both reached their peak, San used the corner of the blanket to clean them up a little, then pulled Wooyoung into his arms.

"I feel all floaty again." Wooyoung giggled while pressing his lips to San's chest.

San hummed and tilted the merman's head back again. "I do too. I always feel that way when I'm with you." He lightly kissed Wooyoung's nose.

"You do?"

"Yes, Youngie. I do. I... I need to tell you something." He started to trace the curves of Wooyoung's muscles with his fingers. "And I want you to know that... whatever you decide, I will always support you. But I need to tell you how I feel. I can't hide it anymore."

"What are you talking about?" Wooyoung's forehead creased in concern.

"I love you, Wooyoung." San's chest tightened as the words slipped from his lips. But they were the truest words he had ever spoken.

Wooyoung blinked and opened his mouth. "Love?" He asked in a soft voice.

At first, San thought that hearing the questioning tone would shatter everything, however he had prepared himself for that response. So he merely smiled and kissed Wooyoung's forehead. "Yes. Love. It's a very powerful emotions that humans can spend their life searching for."

"I think... I think I've read about it before. But tell me what it is." The stars sparkled it Wooyoung's eyes while he looked at San. They were filled with the pure, innocent wonder that had helped San fall for the merman.

"Love is... Love is this. It's wanting to be with the person most important to you. It's wanting to tell them about your day, cook them food, or even just lay around with them. Love is putting the other first, no matter what, and doing whatever you can to make sure they are happy. It's painful and thrilling and so much more."

Tears came to Wooyoung's eyes and he tried to pull San closer. "Is love getting those warm tingling feelings and just wanting to be near you at all times? Or the heavy feeling I get in my chest when I think about leaving you?"

San felt his lower lip tremble a little. "Th-That's up for you to decide. Love is different for every one. I can't tell you what it means to you." But oh how he wanted it to be love. His heart yearned to hear those words come from Wooyoung's perfect lips.

"I know that I have felt myself being drawn to you since the first time I saw you sinking in the water. You're all I've been able to think about, almost every hour of the day. When I was taken, you're the first one I wanted to see again. And it's so painful to think about every being apart from you, especially when I think about how we are from two different worlds." Wooyoung sniffed and closed his eyes. "I don't know what to do, Sannie."

"We will figure it out." San said quickly, hugging Wooyoung as tight as he could. "One way or another, we will figure something out. I will do anything for you."

The fell silent for a long moment. San savored the sound of Wooyoung's calm breathing. He loved the feeling of the merman's chest moving against his each time he inhaled. It was perfect. This moment was-

"I love you too, Sannie."
