As the Carolina hurtled into space, Liza began to relax a bit. The crew had been told that the takeoff was the worst part of the voyage. From there on, it was supposed to be smooth sailing, provided you knew what you were doing.

The planet, Trivia, was actually not a planet, but a large moon orbiting Mars. It had only recently been discovered, and the air was supposed to be breathable. That was why they were sending actual humans to check it out, only fifteen years after its discovery.

A green signal light blinked to life, and a pre-recorded voice announced that the artificial gravity was in effect. The crew unbuckled their straps, and stood up. They had one week until they arrived on Trivia. One week in open space.

"Guys!" called Wayne from the window. "You have got to come see this." Liza walked over to the window, and the sight nearly took her breath away.

Earth was visible from their position, and it looked amazing. The blue planet spun peacefully through the cosmos, clouds encircling it. The stars surrounding it glittered, and the whole scene was just so surreal that it was hard to believe that they actually lived there. But seeing her home made Liza remember. She had to radio in, back to base.

She took a seat at the communications panel, and put on the headphones. She angled the built-in microphone downwards, and adjusted it towards her mouth. She then turned her attention to the keyboard. Typing in the correct frequency, she hit "Enter", and turned a knob until the static disappeared from the voice answering her call.

"This is Elizabeth Austin of the Trivia mission, ship number 31124. We are all still alive, and are heading in the right direction." the person on the other end sighed in relief. "Good. Contact us again when you reach the planet's surface." Liza nodded, then remembered that whoever she was contacting couldn't see her. "Okay," she said. "Over and out."

Pressing the 'disconnect' button, Liza spun her chair around to face the rest of the team. "Great," she said cheerfully. "Just one more week, and we arrive on Trivia!"
