Now Half-Human

"How could this happen?!" Lapis was pacing around like mad, clearly panicking about her transformation, while Green Pearl was trying to comfort her panicking state. "Take it easy, it'll be fine..." Green Pearl said, right before being lifted off the floor by his collar. "Fine, how is this fine?!" the now-turned human yelled at the green gem while shaking him senseless. Soon, she dropped him onto the floor. Green Pearl, now regaining his senses, pulled himself up, pulled her in, and started to slap some sense into her. "Get a hold of yourself!!!" he said between slaps, since Lapis has actual flesh rather than a hard light hologram, it stung, considering it was a hard gemstone hitting against flesh. Lapis was rubbing her bruised cheek, which had a red mark rather than a dark blue one. Soon, Green Pearl picks up the same mirror that he gave, and hovers it over her upper back, revealing a familiar blue teardrop-shaped gemstone embedded into her fairly-tanned skin.

"What the? How is this even possible?!" Lapis exclaimed over her sudden discovery of being a hybrid like Steven, while Green Pearl chuckled to himself. "During my time here, there's one thing that me and my diamond learned while we were with Steven is that nothing is impossible." the polo-wearing gem said in wisdom, leaving Lapis confused. "Do you remember anything during the time between recovery and now?" Green Pearl asked, changing the subject, and hoping that the now-turned hybrid would answer. "Just that I remember being hit by something, other than that, nothing, considering that I was unconscious." Lapis answered. A chime reverberated throughout the ship, alerting the only pearl onboard. "Would you look at the time? My diamond's calling me, I have to go." Green Pearl said as he left the room, in which Lapis followed him, wondering where he was going.

A few minutes of following later, Lapis followed Green Pearl to his destination, the ocean hybrid saw Green Diamond talking to someone on a screen.

"Well, I cannot wait to meet him."

"Me too, White, but everything going on, (sighs) it's hard to see you in person, considering what's been going on as of late."

Green rubbed his temples and sighed, worried about Steven's mental health, why they bother keeping secrets from him, when he has the right to know.

"I understand, you have your responsibilities, and I have mine."

"Thanks, White."

"Not at all."

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Sorry to cut this short, White. I need to activate the landing protocol."

With that, White cut off the connection as Green activated the ship's landing protocol, as it was nearing Earth's surface. After a few minutes the ship landed on the beach, with the ramp opening up, Green Diamond exiting, along with his pearl, the verdant monarch looked towards the ocean, seeing the sun rising from the horizon.

"Looks like early morning, time to make some breakfast..."

"Pearl, would you get the others?" Green asked his pearl, who saluted, but before he could do it, he tugged his diamond's jacket. "Actually, can I tell you what happened to the lapis lazuli?" Green Pearl asked his diamond. "Sure." Green Diamond replied. He soon crouched to his pearl's level, while said gem whispered the information.

"Ah, okay."

Chuckling to himself, wondering how it's possible, then again, learning from Steven.

"Nothing is impossible..."

"Luckily, I'm going to be cooking extra today, since her body is like Steven's. Half gem and half human." Green said as his pearl made his way towards the ship. Inside Green's ship, Lapis was waiting near the entryway, as Green Pearl entered the ship, the ocean hybrid left and followed the verdant monarch into the beach house. Where, in the kitchenette, she saw a jacketless Green Diamond wearing an apron, and was doing something over the stove. Whatever it is, it smells delicious, and since she's part human, she needs to eat to keep living. Hearing her newly formed stomach grumbling, Lapis gasped as Green turned towards her direction, and hid behind the kitchen island. The verdant monarch shrugged and continued doing his business.

Meanwhile, inside Green's ship, Green Pearl was making his way towards the living quarters, and once he got there, he started to wake up the two sleepers. "Hey, wakey-wakey. C'mon up and at them." he said while waking them up. Steven was the first one to wake up, followed by Peridot. "Oh, hey, Fern." Steven greeted the verdant gem as he was waking up. "I appreciated the name, but would you two follow me? Green has something for you." the polo-wearing gem said, and the two followed him out of the ship, and into the beach house. Once inside, Peridot was greeted by a certain sentient squash, and Steven saw a familiar figure hiding under the stools.

"Lapis?"

A few seconds of tense silence later, Steven and Peridot were both in shock and confused by her new half-organic form. Peridot lunged herself at the ocean hybrid, and started to attack her. "Who are you, and what have you done to Lapis?!" Peridot yelled while attacking the "imposter". "Peridot, it's me, Lapis!" Lapis yelled, hoping that Peridot would cease her assault. "If you are Lapis, tell me something that she would know?" the lime green gem asked the water witch, Lapis sighed, knowing the situation that Peridot put her in. "When I got back, you were upset that you didn't talk to me for a month." Lapis said, hoping that Peridot would recognize her, but the raised eyebrow was a telltale sign that she ain't buying it. "When you were trying to make amends, I broke your tape recorder!" Lapis yelled, in which Peridot eased up, knowing fully of that moment. "Also, I have a crush on Steven!!!" the ocean hybrid yelled, in which the lime green got off of her, and gave the ocean hybrid a hug. "I'm sorry." Peridot apologized. "Me too." Lapis added. "Lapis, why are you like this?" Steven asked while Lapis sheepishly rubbed the back of her head.

"Can I shed some light?"

Everyone looked towards Green Pearl, as he does have the answers. Minutes later, Steven and Peridot had their hands on their respective foreheads when they were supplied with the information. "That's a lot to take in." Steven commented. "Believe me, I had the sense knocked into me, twice!" Lapis said about her own discovery. "I'm guessing the first time is what convinced you to come back, prior to all of this?" Peridot asked while Lapis nodded.

"Order Up! Breakfast is served."

Green Diamond just finished cooking breakfast, the meals being various omelets; one was chicken and cheese, one was a southwestern, and the last one was chicken, potatoes, and cheese. He passed the plates around, with Steven getting the chicken and cheese, Green gave himself the southwestern, and Lapis got the chicken, potatoes, and cheese omelet. "Eat up!" Green said before eating his omelet. Lapis, now mimicking Steven's and Green's movements, since it's out of necessity, and she enjoys it. To Green's excitement.

That excitement was cut short as a certain trio of gems came into the scene.

"Well, great..."
