Ocean Genesis

Avatar: The way of water

The celebration had commenced. The fires burned bright as the children danced around the fire. Before the feast Li' Aeyana had taken some of her mother mixtures enough to relieve the tension in her body. The stars were spinning as she and Kiri danced with one another. Neteyam watched from a far, having being one to put himself in the forefront, however his eyes could never leave her. How easily she moved between them all as she laughed whole heartingly.

To Li' Aeyana she felt free and light, but that could have been the healing medicines that she ate. Everyone around her became faceless as she welcomed the warmth of the fire around her.

"My head feels like it's spinning." Kiri laughed as she held Li' Aeyana hand "But I don't want it to stop."

Li' Aeyana's eyes dwindled to Tsireya who was dancing with Lo'ak, to her mother and father proudly watching their son and daughters, but as hard as she tried her eyes trailed to him. He was seated amongst others of her clan, simply talking with the other boys but their eyes met with one anothers.

He looked different. The way he looked at her, she could not explain how it made her feel. In the one hand she wanted to her back on him but she could not. She shook her head heading back to her mother and father glancing back to see Neteyams eyes still on her. Only it did not irritate her, she found herself rather liking it.

Li' Aeyana sat by her father completely out of breath. Tonowari looked proudly to his daughter as he addressed the clans

"Tonight we celebrate the birth my eldest children. Aonung and Li' Aeyana, under Eywa's eye you are becoming warriors, and one day when I have fallen, this clan will be yours to protect. Tomorrow, Aonung and Li' Aeyana will claim their tsurak, where after they are allowed to choose a mate." To this Li' Aeyana rolled her eyes as she felt her mother place her hand on her daughters knee "To our guests, we welcome you. The eldest of the clans will compete for the choice of my daughter."

To this a roar of cheers came in uproar. She could understand why. She was beautiful but she hardly knew what she wanted for herself , no less for a family.

But she would not be betrothed, not over her dead body.

"You should do it bro." Lo'ak sat next to his brother as Neteyam shook his head "She likes you, and you like her. It's so obvious. "

"I don't know what you're talking about."

To which Lo'ak scoffed. Anyone could see that they were clouding their emotions from one another, he often would catch the two glancing to one another from a far and if not, even though she yells at him, in some way they're always close to another when they have lessons. Close enough to touch, but that they don't.

"Cmon, its so obvious you like her. Even mom and dad can see that." Lo'ak noted. He wanted Neteyam to chase towards his feeling, knowing his brother who never stepped a foot out line. Who was always ready for duty and never complained or argue, it would only be fair for once he did whatever he wanted to. He deserved to grant that for himself.

"Lo'ak, dad told us not to get into trouble. I can't-" he replied "It's not place to do that. It will only make her unhappy."

"More than she already is. Bro, I heard her and Kiri one night talking. She doesn't want any of this. If you do this, at least she'll be someone she l-"

"Lo'ak." Neteyam quickly corrected his little brother

"You know am I right. Why are you both playing hard to get?"

Neteyam had snuck out that night to the cove. He needed to clear his head, after everyone went to sleep. Though he could not find sleep as Lo'ak's words haunting his mind. Footsteps approached as he looked to Li' Aeyanna plop herself next to him on the sand, the tiniest giggles could be heard. "Sorry, did I intrrupti you?" To which he shook his head

Her cheeks were flushed as her hair was braided back tightly, perfectly highlighting her face. Her eyes scanned over him as she gasped dramatically taking her hand

"Your hand!" She giggled "It's so small!" She laughed. A sigh of relief as he wasn't faced with the demon blood or freak comments her brother constantly hurled to him and his family

"It is not. What do you mean?" He did not retract his hand though. If anything their hands intertwined with one anothers as her fingers around his. The cold wind against her warm cheeks as her eyes remained focussed on her hand as she could feel his eyes on.

Neteyam felt like choking on air as her hand glided across her arm. She was in good spirits, despite what Lo'Ak had told him. The air felt warm around them, the cold not even bothering Neteyam. Her touch was tender and delicate. Inching closer as their knees made contact , Li' Aeyana released a breathy laugh

"Mine aren't as small as yours." He teased "They are tiny. Like a baby." He emphasized reciting her own words. Neteyam noticed the flush colour on her cheeks as her smile brightened his dreary mood. Her honeyed laugh distracting his deep thoughts "and soft. Surprisingly. "

To which her smile reached from ear to ear. The medicine was strong in her system, so much that she could not argue with herself how comfortable he had her feel. He was a stranger, he had no idea how much of a burden she was for her family, her clan meaning there was no room to judge her. It was refreshing. Being around Neteyam was like taking a swim on a warm sunny day.

"Not like yours." She mumbled as her head felt heavier leaning it onto his shoulder. Neteyam smiled in slowly released her hand. Li' Aeyana slowly retracted her hand away and petted the delicate skin of her hand

Neteyam was unable to remove himself from her. Her scent alone intoxicating as her arm wrapped around his. She reclined them back down as the sand felt so soft under his skin looking up at the stars. The first night in weeks where he wasn't looking for a new star. Sky people. Turned to face one another as home and sky people became a distant thought. Only her

Li' Aeyana's eyes felt heavier as it felt she could sink into the sand.

Neteyams eyes inspected every detail as everything in his body was telling him to lean in closer. But his mind was telling him to stop. Tomorrow she would choose her betrothed. Her future set in stone, and with him on the run, he could not predict his own. The risk was too great. He took the risk

His hand behind her neck, the other on her waist as she herself leaned in closer. Her hand playing with the beads in his hair. The sweet smell of the sea and fruits under her nose as Li' Aeyana could not pull her eyes off of him. Her eyes fluttered closed as she for once in her life, felt a silence in her mind. No voice telling her how much she was ruining everything and everyone around her.

It was bliss.

Authors note:
This fr them this chapter

I'm still on my little subplot that will divide this book into two parts. Part one consisting of ten chapters and part two , which will follow the plot of the actual movie.
I want to build them up properly because I have to write the demons that are Spider and Quitrich or whatever how you spell his name.
I'm still bitter and those mfs
