Ocean Genesis

Avatar: The way of water

"The cove of the Ancestors was the most sacred of all places to the Metkayina. It was their singular tie to Eywa." Li' Aeyana explained as she, Tsireya and Roxto lead the Sully children to the cave.

The sun perfectly peaked behind the moon as the ocean became light with life. The mountains above the cove perfectly surrounded the entire cove reminding them of that of clouds.

"Eclipse is the best time of day to be here." Tsireya added

The group dived underwater nearing the spirit tree. Kiri followed behind Li' Aeyana as she could not pull her eyes off of the spirit tree .It was connected to the seabed by a network of roots

It's beautiful. She signed to Li' Aeyana as her friend held her hand as the swam deeper down. As the came closer to the tree,  did they finally understand what Tsireya and Li' Aeyana had meant. The ocean brought not just them but so much to life , the glowing rocks, flora, and fauna.

Li' Aeyana released Kiri's hand as she allowed her friend to tie with the spirits. She swam to the side to find Neteyam tied with the spirit tree. He himself clasped onto her hand as she tied her hair as well.

The rush of Eywas power felt like a shot of energy through her body. She could hear the laughter of her ancestors. Their war cries , she could feel Eywa connecf to them all. She closed her eyes releasing herself in the safety of the great mother as her head tilted back.

Her eyes shot open to see a warm sunset behind the coast line of the beach. It all felt like a memory. As she slowly walked along the sand she could make out the figure of him. Neteyam who himself was on the beach. The feeling of her peace vanished as thick black clouds covered the sky. The world around them crumbling as Li' Aeyana looked down to see her feet sinking into the sand.

Her eyes shot open to see rapid flickering of energy from the tree. Her whipped back to see Kiri above them spasming uncontrollably. The two shared a look of worry as Neteyam speed upwards to take his sister in arms.

Li' Aeyana felt her body froze when she saw Kiri's face. Her eyes blank and empty with her mouth gaped open as she was shaking in Neteyams arms. The group following in pursuit as Li' Aeyana took a large gasp of air when they shot up from the water.

"Kiri!" Tuk cried as Li' Aeyana and Tsireya held the girl back. Neteyam placed the girl on the ilu trying to bring her back, but Kiri was unresponsive

"Is she breathing? Is she still breathing?" A panicked Roxto asked as Neteyam struggled to resuscitate his sister

"She's having a seizure. We need to get her back!" He cried out gripping the saddle of the ilu.

No one slept for a minute that night. Tuk refused to leave Kiri's side. Li' Aeyana paced outside of the Sullys pod. The feeling of panick rushing through her veins as she felt herself go mad. She could hear Kiri's heartbeat in her head. It was weak but still there. The only hope she could cling to.

Her heart felt heavy with every minute that passed by.

"She will be okay. She-" Neteyam spoke up from behind her. None of them returned to their pods for the entire night. "She has to..." Neteyams voice cracked "She has a strong heart."

"Then why does it not feel so?" Li' Aeyana whimpered "I can feel her. I can hear her heart but it is so weak, I am scared." The two entered the pod to find Neytiri pacing the room as avatars, friends of Jake, were checking on Kiri.

They had arrived the very morning and Li' Aeyanas eyes hand not left them since. They looked Na'vi but from their clothes and use of medicines she could tell they were different. Neteyam had reassured them that they were friends but Li' Aeyana still felt uneasy around them.

"I can't see any bleeding from the brain. Her vitals seem okay. There's no fractures or hypoxia." The one Avatar noted as he looked to his machines.

Ronal had finally entered but as her eyes landed of their visitors, her look became cold. "I see that I am not needed here."

Neytiri grabbed Ronal by the arm "You are tsahik!" She hissed

"Mother, please help her. Please." Li' Aeyana pleaded. Neytiri dropped Ronals arm as both mothers could see the restless tiredness of the young girls face.

She nodded her head as she looked down to the Avatars "Remove these things from this child."

"Out!" Neytiri commanded "You have done nothing!"

It was night and thanks to Ronal, Kiri had woken up. Jake's friends had left and Li' Aeyana fiddled with the beads around her arm unsure whether to enter or not. She did not want to interrupt the Sullys.

Building up the courage she found Kiri seated with her knees under her chin as their eyes met.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Kiri asked as she patted an empty space next to her. Li' Aeyana breathed a sigh of relief as she sat next to Kiri. Kiri taking her shawl as she covered them both with her head on Li' Aeyanas shoulder.

"How do you feel?" Li' Aeyana asked

"Tired."

"We were all so scared. I was scared that you-" The words too real to even escape her mouth "We thought we lost you."

"Well, you're not getting rid of that easily." Kiri attempted to joke, her mind still dwindling to the encounter she had with her mother. Grace. Having only shared a split second with another she still missed her. Hearing her mothers voice,  seeing her alive, even her touch. It all seemed like a surreal dream, but show could she explain it and who would believe her?

"I'm being serious." Li' Aeyana deadpanned

"I know."

Li' Aeyana bit the corner of her nail as she wrapped her arms around Kiri's "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Someday." Kiri sighed as she felt her eyes become heavy "Just not right now." That was enough to reassure Li' Aeyana as Kiri slowly fell asleep in her friends arm. Li' Aeyana unable to unhear the strong heartbeat of her friend.

The sky was blue with twinkling stars above them. Everyone had fallen asleep as Neteyam sat outside on the empty beach. Between Lo'aks disappearance and Kiri's seizure - sleep did not come easily to him. He was too scared to fall asleep, what if something happened to them and he was not there to save them.

His blood grew warm when he felt her take a seat next to her. Resting her chin on his shoulder as they remained silent. Her breath on his cheek as their hands locked in with one anothers.

"You need to eat, and you need sleep."

"I'll be fine." Netetam answered "I'm not even-" he sighed

"Neteyam, they are fine. She is fine." Li' Aeyana murmured. "It is not good for you to be this way. Your body needs energy."

"I can't." He answered, his voice deep and raspy "What if something happens during the night? What if Tuk is the next to get hurt. No, I can't-" He rambled

Li' Aeyana sat back her hand still in his "You did what you could. None of us could have healed Kiri. But she is fine now. Why are you so scared?"

The answer to her question was too complicated. They were still being hunted, even in hiding. What if in one moment of weakness they could be found and killed?

Li' Aeyana did not enjoy seeing him this way. Not only exhausted but scared.

"I'm scared to lose them. What if something happens to them and I am not there to protect them?" He whispered "What if one day he takes them away from me and I could not save them?"

"What do you mean?" Li' Aeyana asked "Who?"

"Quaritch." Neteyam sighed "He's the one after us and he won't stop, I know he won't.

"Why is he after you all?"

There was no more hiding. The Metkayina clan allowed them to be one of them , and she- she deserved to know. There was no more room for lies anymore.

"My father and mother killed him when he attacked our home. This was many years ago but someway-" Neteyam explained "Someway, somehow he is back. He won't stop until we're all dead."

A singular tear slipped down his cheek as Li' Aeyanas held his hand tighter. She rested her head against his shoulder as she could feel him. His heart.

"I- We will not let him." She replied determined and strong. "You are one of us now and we fight for our people. I will fight for you."

"Li' Aeyana, I don't want you to." Neteyam confessed as she could see the hurt on her face "I don't want you to put yourself in danger because of us."

"I don't care." She bluntly answered "We are not just strangers anymore. We are friends, more than even that."

He chuckled as he placed a kiss on her forehead "You have a strong heart. No fear."

They sat in silence again. As grateful as he was to her words he could not imagine the guilt he would suffer in something were to happen to her. The thought of her harmed because him or his family. It was not fair. Should the day ever come where they would have to fight, he would not only protect his family but her too. Because Li' Aeyana had become a part of him too.

It was then that he realized he cared for her, more than ever before. It was something that didn't happen to him often. Because of who's son he was, he distanced himself from any girl that showed interest in him, never knowing their true intentions with him. All that went through his mind was the fear of rejection. The fear of not living up to being the son of Toruk Makto but for some reason when he was with Li' Aeyana his thoughts never took him to that corner of his mind.

Neteyam was unsure of how to explain it, it was like they had a special connection. She made him feel good, enough to be himself with front of her.

He would take the risk of losing his family or her. He would fight for them, to the death.

Authors note:

Me everytime I write Li' Aeyana and Kiri moments

But yes, unfortunately I'm gonna start writing on the plot and that bitch Quaritch so please tell me what you guys wanna see more of because I really do not want to write about Quaritch just fucking shit up. He makes me so mad, its not even funny🧍🏽‍♀️
