[ T H E N E X T D A Y ]

          I WAS SAT IN MY SEAT IN FRONT of Charlie in our science class learning about atoms or whatever, at this point, I wasn't listening. All I could think about was Bombay leaving his team behind in the blink of an eye. "That's right, the red is oxygen. Now what are the blue balls?" the teacher asks. Everyone in the room explodes into laughs about the subject.

"Tommy?" the teacher calls out.

"Hydrogen?" Tommy guesses.

"Is correct," Mr. Bradley points out "Now put them together, and you have a molecule that makes up 96% of your body. What is it?"

"Pizza?" I question as the entire class huddles into small giggles. There was a sudden knock on the door interrupting our class, which nobody was complaining about.

"It's the principal. I'll be right back. Work on H2C03. It's a goodie," Mr. Bradley announces as he walks towards the door. He walks through the doors beginning his discusses with the principal.

The room was peaceful until Karp opened his mouth "How'd the forfeit go, Spazway?" Karp teases my brother, I gave him a feisty glare.

"Yeah, did you score?" Peter teases alongside Karp.

"Hey, leave my brother alone!" I spat at the two.

"It's okay, Alex," Charlie whispers into my ear.

"Look, guys I don't wanna talk about the team," Charlie admits.

"Oh, yeah, sure. Coach's pets. Everybody knows he likes you two best," Peter says with the attitude of his.

"Likes their mom, you mean," Karp chuckles. I could feel blood rush through my body. Charlie shoots up from his seat moving his desk and chair in the process.

"Take it back, Karp!" Charlie yells grabbing onto Karp by the collar. I widen at my brother's actions "Take it back now!"

I stood up and break up the heated argument "Hey, leave him alone, Karp. That's my brother you're pushing around. If you mess with him you mess with me," I argue pushing Karp away.

"You have no right shovin', Karp," Peter yells pushing me back.

"Hey, don't push me," I argue with him.

"Stupid jerks," Connie yells. Peter ends up pushing her out of the way and crashes into my body.

"She's a girl!" Guy pushes Peter out of the way. I know I shouldn't be thinking about Connie and Guy but they were too cute to be messed with. All chaos went to hell.

"Atom fight!" someone yells. Suddenly, I felt my body being whipped with by small atoms. My body was being pushed back and forth and bumps into others. Everything was too chaotic. I was trying to help Connie break the boys apart but even with all my strength nothing happened, they were still jumping on each other and arguing.

Everyone started to slowly disburse "You, sit!" the principal yells pointing at my brother "Sit now!"

I make my way back to my desk to only see everyone else running around to find their proper desk and chair "In your seats now!" the principal yells impatiently. I manage to find my desk and sit and quickly set myself, however, when I looked back I see Charlie awkwardly standing there. I bite my lip trying to hold my laughter together. I quickly turn back to the front and face the principal.

"I have never in my life. What have you got to say for yourselves?" the principal asks.

The room goes silent and all us Ducks look at each other knowing that everything will be fine in the end "Quack," Peter begins. Soon everyone starts quacking at the principal not caring for anything that would come out of it later in the day.

We manage to finish the day without any more troubles, now we were in the detention room. I could have never been happier doing what we had just done. Detention was the least of my worries. I was just glad that we could come back together as the Ducks now. As I was writing down our punishment in which we also had to chant. I was almost done when I heard the door open. There stood Bombay, I hid a smile knowing that there could only be one reason why he was here. "What do you want?" Karp asks.

"I wanna talk to you guys," Bombay announces.

"People," Tammy sasses.

"People, right. Sit down, please, all of you," Bombay orders. Nobody moved. You could probably drop and pin and you'd be able to hear it. The tension was there.

Bombay cleared his throat seeing as nobody would do what he asked he continued his little speech. "Okay, don't sit down. Look, what's done is done. I wanna be your coach again."

"You wanna coach a bunch of losers?" Averman asks with attitude.

"No, I wanna coach the ducks," Bombay admits.

"What about the things you said? You said we didn't deserve to live" Karp states.

"Karp, I was being sarcastic. Do you know what that means?" Bombay sarcastically asks.

"No," Karp says in a very obvious sarcastic tone.

"Okay, then ya do. I didn't mean those things the way they sounded. You guys know what it's like to be misunderstood, right?" Bombay shrugs.

"Yeah, of course," Peter says.

"We're kids," I shrug getting up from my lean on the blackboard.

"So, can you forgive me? Can I be your coach again?" Bombay asks.

"What about Banks?" Guy asks.

"He can be on the team if he wants. He should've been with us all year. It's you guys who were cheated. But let's forget all that crap. We're a team, right?" Bombay shouts walking around the circle we formed.

"Yeah," we all responded quietly not really believing in ourselves.

"I made you guys, and I'm stickin' with ya," Bombay smiles at Charlie and I. He listened.

"So... What's it gonna be? We can play tomorrow night, still have a shot at the playoffs, or we can forfeit again, and the season's over. Peter, what do you say?" Bombay asks facing Peter.

"Well..." Peter thinks about his words before admitting his answer "Guess it would help if we practiced first."

"All right. Let me see if I can get you outta detention," Bombay announces. Everyone cheered.

"Take that," Goldberg mutters as he did a bro shake with Charlie.

"You really quacked at the principal?" Bombay asks astonished by our actions. We giggled at our group "Are we Ducks or what?"

"Yeah!" we cheer as a team. Now that's something I could never be upset about.
