Chapter 55: Kidnapped
It's the final chapter 😢😭.
"You will never get past me! I am stronger than you. I will crush the child on your back and take you into the League." Muscular bellowed. I crouched lower to the ground and got ready to spring forwards and attack.
Muscular's fist came flying towards me with such speed that it was nearly impossible to dodge his attack. I managed to jump out of the way just in time though, causing Muscualr's fist to sink into the rough surface of the mountainside. Before he could pull his fist away from the mountain wall, I placed my hand on it and transformed an entire portion of the wall into an incredibly sticky substance. Muscular tried to pull his hand out of the wall but he was unable to do so. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU BASTARD!" Muscular roared, "I'M GOING TO TAKE YOU AND YOUR LITTLE FRIEND, BAKUGO, BACK TO THE LEAGUE!". He tried in vain to yank his hand from the wall. I saw that he was going to build more muscle on top of his arm to try and pull his arm out, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to use one of the things I had created. Just as Muscular's muscles began to close over his arm, I threw a knife into his arm, not only did it embed itself into his arm, but it was attached to an explosive which upon impact blew up.
I'm not a psychopath, so the explosion wasn't very big. It wasn't big enough to kill Muscular or seriously maim him. But, it did destroy all of the muscle he had built up around his arm and a majority of it on the left side of his body. I immediately transformed into Auntie Nemuri, whilst he was disorientated by the blast. I covered Kota's mouth with some excess fabric before ripping both of my sleeves off to let out copious amounts of the purple gas. It didn't take even 2 seconds before the entire area which we were in was filled with a purple haze. I watched as Muscular swayed on his feet, trying in vain to battle off his wooziness. I transformed directly from Nemuri into Pixie-Bob. I placed one of my pawed hands over my mouth whilst placing the other one to the floor and using Earth Flow and to push Muscular back into the mountainside. The man stumbled backwards, still somehow hanging onto his consciousness, and fell into the wall with a thump. The earth bent to my will as I used it to fashion an impenetrable prison for the villain before me. By this point, the amount of sleeping gas in the air had gotten to Muscular, he was out cold and would be for quite a while. I transformed into a wolf and started running at full speed towards the base. I needed to get Kota to safety before I went out and warned everyone that they were planning on taking people.
I hadn't been running for 5 minutes before I encountered Dad. I nearly ran into him as we crossed path, but I managed to stop myself just before I barrelled into his legs. Dad pulled his scarf out and was about to attack me before he saw Kota on my back, then he just looked confused. I transformed into myself and pulled Kota off of my back. "Hey, Dad. I just saved Kota from the villain who killed Waterhose, Muscular. He's out cold and incapacitated against the mountain a few minutes back. I found out that the villains are after me and Kacchan so I need to go and tell Mandalay that Kacchan needs to be careful. Take Kota, please. He's still in shock but he's snapped out of it slightly. Ok? Goodbye!" I spoke rapidly, bouncing on the balls of my feet as I handed Kota to Shota and got ready to run away. "Wait! Izuku! I... If you're going to go and speak to Mandalay, tell her that I give permission for everyone to use their quirks." Dad said, his face the perfect picture of resolution and determination. I nodded my head before transforming into a bald eagle and flying towards where Mandalay and Tiger were fighting, a sense of foreboding settling into my stomach.
When I arrived at the fight, Mandalay was about to get hit by the lizard looking man. I dove down and scratched my talons across his scally skin, causing him to cry out in pain and fall backwards. I transformed in midair and landed next to Mandalay. "Mandalay! I need you to make an announcement to everyone. Dad... I mean Aizawa said that everyone in class A and B have permission to use their quirks in defence. Also, please warn the students that Kacchan... I mean Katsuki Bakugo, is in danger of being taken." I said rapidly. Mandalay nodded in confirmation. I nodded in return before transforming into an eagle once again flying away, narrowly dodging a knife which was thrown at me by the lizard. I needed to get back to the base, I was in danger of being kidnapped and I knew that me being taken wouldn't help anyone. I had complete trust in my fellow students, so there was no reason for me to fight, right? Wrong. I'm sure you know this by now, but when I see someone in danger, I need to help them. So when I saw Ochako and Tsu struggling whilst fighting a girl wielding knives, I think we all know I was going to step in.
I swooped down and transforming back into myself, drawing my knives as I went. The blond girl was about to stab Ochako before I intercepted with my own knives. The girl's yellow eyes widened at my sudden appearance before they gained a happy/ psychotic gleam. "No way! It can't possibly be the Izuku Midoriya! I loved you in the sports festival. I could just slurp your blood all day. Let's run away together Izuku-kun." the girl squealed excitedly as she jumped away from me and began twirling around excitedly. "I thought that Ochako was beautiful but you're just as breath-taking! I want both of you!" She gasped, clasping her hands together. I was freaked out with her obvious obsession with me and Ochako. I was a bit distracted so I was surprised when she launched herself towards me, her blades flashing in the moonlight. I sloppily defended for a few seconds, not expecting her onslaught of stabs and slashes. After a few seconds, I got into the rhythm of things and started making some offensive moves of my own. We engaged in a deadly dance of blades. If even one step was wrong it could lead to a fatal wound. We danced the dance of death for several minutes. I didn't have the chance to transform to aid my battle. The girl kept me on my toes. I hate to admit it, but she was an amazing knife wielder. I think we were both on par with each other because neither one of us had landed a blow on the other. Neither one of us had drawn blood from our opponent. Our battle could have gone on for hours if Tsu hadn't stepped in. I was deflecting one of Space Bun's knives from slashing across my stomach when Tsu's tongue wrapped around the girl's arm and yanked it back. Whilst she was off-balance, I kicked the girl in the stomach. She went flying backwards into a bush. I wanted to pursue her, but I knew that it would be a dumb idea to do so. She could easily gain the upper hand. "Thank you for helping us, Izu." Ochako said, wiping away some blood from a cut to her cheek. "It's fine. I'm sure you could have gotten out of it." I smiled assuredly. Tsu was about to speak up when we heard the familiar sound of Kacchan's explosions. I shared a look with Ochako before we all rushed towards the sound.
We emerged from the forest to see Shoto and Kacchan fighting a freaky looking man covered in leather and with really long teeth which he was using to walk across the ground. Shoto was carrying Tsubarara from class B on his back as he dodged the man's sharp teeth and Kacchan's explosions. "Katsuki, we need to fall back, he's too powerful." Shoto was shouting at Kacchan. Kacchan was stood beside Shoto with a very angry look on his face, his hands twitched ever so slightly as he stared at the wall of ice separating him from the villain. I could see conflicting emotions battling in Kaccahn's eyes. "Kacchan!" I shouted, beckoning for him towards me. Shoto looked up at me and sighed in relief, it was clear he had been worrying about my wellbeing. "Izuku!" Kacchan shouted, relief as clear as day in his eyes. We were about to say more when the ominous sound of trees cracking and feet hitting the floor rapidly. Everybody's heads swivelled to look in the direction which the sound was coming from. We all watched as the trees disappeared inexplicably. It wasn't long before Shoji came running out. His eyes were wide with fear and he was carrying an unconscious Shinso on his back. "Help! Dark Shadow is rampaging!" one of Shoji's arms screamed. I watched with wide eyes as Tokoyami emerged from the forest, except his entire body was covered by Dark Shadow. I could see the tears welling up in his eyes as he struggled against his own quirk's power. I could see the pain and guilt in Tokoyami's eyes as he tried to hold himself back, but it was all for nought. He wouldn't be able to stop Dark Shadow from rampaging. "We need light. We need some fire!" I shouted to Kacchan and Shoto. They were both about to activate their quirks when Dark Shadow changed course. Where previously, he had been chasing Shoji, Dark Shadow suddenly started heading towards the leather-bound man. I watched in shock as Dark Shadow attacked the villain. Batting him about and brutally ripping out his teeth. He sent the villain flying across the forest before turning his sights to us once again.
Dark Shadow didn't get the chance to take even one step forwards before Shoto and Kacchan were both right in front of him, their quirks activated. Shoto sent a plume of fire towards the sentient quirk to weaken him before Kacchan rocketed towards him and blasted an explosion into Tokoyami's face. It wasn't the kindest way to incapacitate him, but I guess Tokoyami was no longer on a rampage. "Thank you, Bakugo." Tokoyami coughed, kneeling on the ground, holding his head in his hands in distress. "Tch. Any decent person would do it." Kacchan tutted, walking away from the boy. "We need to get back to base." I said. Everyone nodded. We started our walk back to the centre of the camp.
Shoto and I walked with our hands clasped together. Kacchan was walking slightly behind us, giving us a bit of privacy. I checked periodically to make sure that he was still there. I had a really bad feeling in my gut. "Love, are you ok?" Shoto asked gently, rubbing his thumb over the back of my hand to calm my nerves. "Yeah. I haven't been hurt too badly. I just have a lot of adrenaline pumping through me." I chuckled slightly, I think I was bordering on hysteria. Shoto looked at me with slight concern before nodding slightly. "How are you feeling Kacchan?" I asked as I turned around to address my best friend. Except, he wasn't there. My heart started pounding. I could hear my blood rushing in my ears. "Kacchan!" I shouted, searching the surrounding area with my gaze frantically. Everyone had come to a stop at my frantic voice. "Where's Tokoyami?" Shoto muttered from beside me. It was clear to me that he was starting to freak out, his voice was strained and his grip on my hand had tightened. "Well aren't you an observant lot." an unfamiliar male voice chuckled from a tree to our right. My head whipped around to glare at the man. The man wore a long trench coat and top hat. His face was covered by a white mask decorated with a black pattern. "Give them back!" I growled.
I couldn't see the man's eyes, but by the way he jerked back slightly I knew that I didn't look all that amicable. "And who's to say they belong to you, dear boy. They're their own people are they not?" the man said in a tone which told me he was smirking under his mask. "I said, GIVE THEM BACK YOU BASTARD!" I screamed, yanking my hand from Shoto's and taking a few menacing steps towards the bastard who thought he could take away my friends. I could feel the unease coming from the man in waves. "Izuku! Please calm down!" Tsu's voice poked at the edge of my consciousness, but it couldn't permeate the unadulterated rage which was building up within me. I watched as the man spoke into a communications device, I couldn't hear what he was saying, but after speaking her tipped his top hat to us and started hopping out over the trees. My anger doubled to the point that I could barely think straight. I didn't stop. I didn't think. I ignored my friend's shouts of protest as I transformed into a bird and flew after the dickhead.
I skimmed across the treetops, flying in pursuit of the masked man. I was closing in on him when I made a move. I transformed from a bird into myself and landed on top of the man, making him lose his footing and fall from the treetops into a clearing. I didn't take in my surroundings, I pulled out my knife and held it to the man's throat. "GIVE THEM BACK! I SWEAR IF YOU DON'T I WILL SLIT YOUR THROAT!" I roared into the man's face. I saw him flinch slightly before he chuckled, "Go ahead, little hero, we both know you won't do it." he said with a lot of confidence. I chuckled darkly, pressing the blade of the knife to his throat even more. Beads of blood broke out along where I was pressing my knife. I wasn't joking at all. Anyone who had known me since I was young knew that once I snapped, I could get psychotic. "Is that so?" I hissed. The hairs on the back of my neck prickled up in warning. I rolled off of the man's body and threw my knife at the person trying to sneak up on me. A tall man with burnt skin and black hair raised his arm just in time. The knife embedded itself into his arm instead of his eye. "Shit." the man hissed in pain. I ignored him and went back to the man on the floor in front of me. I pulled another knife out and threatened the masked man with it once again. "Give them back." I didn't shout this time, I whispered it in a broken voice. I wanted Kacchan back. I wanted Tokoyami back.
Suddenly, there was a crash behind us which distracted everyone. I was brought out of my rage-induced haze at the sight of my boyfriend. I took notice of the fact that there were several villains in the clearing. "Izuku. Please calm down!" Shoto cried, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. My gaze lingered on my boyfriend for a second too long. The villain beneath me took advantage of my distraction and switched our position so that he was now pinning me to the forest floor. My eyes went wide with fear. I did the most logical thing to me at the moment and punched him in the face. The mask on his face cracked slightly as it flew from his face. Alongside his mask, two orbs flew out of his mouth. I snatched them from the air and saw that they had Tokoyami and Kacchan in them. Since I now had who I was after, I kicked the man off of me and started running towards my friends. Only to be tackled from behind by Space Buns girl. "Hi, again Izuku. My name is Toga!" Toga beamed down at me, raising her knife to strike me. My eyebrows were singed as Shoto's fire burned bright above me, pushing Toga off of me. I scrambled up and ran over to Shoto and Shoji. "Don't ever do that again, Love. I was so scared." Shoto whispered, yanking me into a hug despite the fact we were still in danger. I nodded against his chest and pulled back to look at the marble in my hand. Marble singular. Where was Kacchan?
I whipped around in time to see Kacchan pop up, the scarred man's hand wrapped around his neck. My eyes widened. My feet were moving before I even had time to process what was happening. "KACCHAN!" I screamed, rushing forward to take his hand. I felt Shoto's hand ghost over my wrist as he tried to stop me. It was like everything was in slow motion. I reached out for Kacchan's outstretched hand and grasped it in my own. I watched as his eyes widened. I knew that what I was about to do would cause me some serious mental damage. I knew that I was dicking myself over. I knew it was stupid. But how could I stop myself from acting the hero and saving someone?
I grabbed Kacchan's hand and yanked him forwards out of the dark-haired man's grip. The momentum of the action made me fall into the dark-haired man's arms. I could only smile at my best friend as I was pulled backwards. I could only watch as his crimson eyes widened and his mouth opened in a silent scream. I could only listen to my boyfriend's fear-filled voice as he called out my name. "IZUKU!" Shoto screamed, his voice cracking. "I love you Sho," I whispered as darkness consumed me and I was pulled away from the ones I love.
How's that for an ending? Yeah. This is the end of the book. I said you'd hate me. I told you. No, Izuku doesn't die. No, he doesn't lose his quirk. Instead, he's kidnapped instead of Katsuki. I've had this ending planned ever since people said they'd read a sequel. I am so sorry about this. I know I'm a dickhead. Please don't come at me. I've already started writing the next book and I'll release the first chapter soon. Again I'm really sorry.
Thank you so much for reading Occurrence and I hope you read my next story. It's called Phenomenon. I'll add an extra chapter for those who don't follow me so that you can see when I release the new book. I hope you all have a wonderful day wherever you are.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm actually quite sad about this book ending.
