*Trigger warning: Gory descriptions*
The next day Shinso moved into his dorm. He claimed he had no intention of making friends but within the hour Kaminari and I had wiggled our way in and made him open up. So Shinso's oath to not make friends hadn't lasted a day and he was friends with Kaminari, Kyoka, Tokoyami and me. Aside from that, I had learned that Todoroki and Kacchan were my dorm neighbours. Todoroki's room was to the left of mine whilst Kacchan's was to the right. The other 4 students who shared the top floor with us were Tokoyami, Shoji, Kirishima and Ayoma. The other seven boys were on the third floor. The entire third day was spent being lazy and adjusting to living with my classmates. It was weird seeing all of my classmates in their casual clothes. I was so used to seeing them in uniform in their hero outfits that it seemed surreal when they walked about in normal clothes. Although Ayoma's clothes were still rather extravagant. I went to sleep that night with a full stomach of Kaccahn's delicious cooking. It had been decided that Kacchan and Sato would always cook dinner instead of doing any of the other chores. Sato was better at baking desserts than cooking, but he was still a good chef. My eyelids became droopy and I fell into a slumber filled with shadows and glowing green eyes.
I was stood in the lounge area of the dorms. The floor, ceiling and walls were all oozing blood. I didn't think the horrific scene could get any worse when suddenly I tripped over something. I landed on something soft. I laid there for a second until I felt something warm and wet on my hand. I looked down to see that I was sprawled over the, very clearly, dead body of Shota. I screamed and backed away from his body. The entire floor was now covered in a shallow pool of blood. My chest hurt. My breath was becoming raged, I could feel a panic attack creeping up on me. I tried to run away, but I bumped into a man's firm chest. I looked up in fear to see Hisashi's leering face looking down at me. His eyes held murderous intent and his smirk promised pain and punishment. "Little Izuku," he hissed, placing one of his disgusting hands on my cheeks and stroking it gently before grabbing my chin roughly and holding my head in place. "Are you trying to run? But it's your fault this happened to them. Look at the mess you made Izuku!" Hisashi shouted, forcing me to spin around and look at the horror scene in front of me. Every member of my class and family was strewn across the floor. Their faces burned and mutilated. Auntie Joke was hanging from the ceiling fan, neck slit open. Auntie Nemuri was pinned to the wall, her body burned beyond recognition. Papa was laying on the floor next to Dad. Both of them stabbed multiple times. All of my friends were sat up on the sofas. They would have looked normal if it weren't for their empty eye sockets and gaping mouths. I wanted to run and cry somewhere. I wanted to vomit. I wanted to getaway. I could tell that I was screaming from how sore my throat felt. I think I was calling out everybody's names, but I wasn't sure. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, my mum showed up. Her body was decaying as she stood on the coffee table. Her skin was tinged green and she didn't have one of her ears. Her entire body was covered in angry red burns. Blood trickled steadily down the side of her face from her forehead which looked as if it had been caved in with a blunt object or bashed against the floor repeatedly. "Izuku! Izuku!" she called out to me. Her arms were open wide as if she expected me to run into her rotten arms and hug her as I used to when I was scared. "Izuku! I'm here! Please calm down! We're here! Izuku!" her words seemed peculiar to me. I was about to respond when the world became hazy and I sat up in my bed, drenched in sweat gasping for breath.
"Izu! I'm here! Look at me!" Kacchan's panicked voiced whispered into my ear. It was then that I became conscious of the strong arms encircling my waist and the blond hair tickling my cheek. I looked around and realised that I was in my bedroom at the dorms. What was peculiar was that Todoroki was looking at me from the side of my bed. He looked really scared and worried. I looked over to the door of my room and saw Tokoyami, Shoji and Ayoma staring in at me from the hallway, their eyes also full of fear. "What happened?" I asked hoarsely. Kacchan pulled away, looked back at Todoroki then turned back to me. "Well..." he began.
*Todoroki's POV 10 minutes before*
I was having a rather delightful dream in which my mother was out of the hospital and we were doing all sorts of mother-son things when a scream broke through the illusion. I was awake within an instant. I was a bit disorientated for a second before I recalled what I had woken me up. As I remembered, another scream tore through the dormitory walls. It seemed as if it were coming through my right wall which meant it was coming from Midoriya's room. I quickly jumped out of bed and rushed out of my room to Midoriya's.
When I got outside I could see all of the boy's heads sticking out of their doors, looking scared. Bakugo was the exception, he was trying desperately to open Midoriya's door. His face was panic-stricken. "Kirishima, go and get Aizawa!" I shouted, jolting Kirishima out of his fear-induced daze. He nodded his head quickly before rushing downstairs to fetch our teacher. "Bakugo, please move out of the way." I told Bakugo. He looked as if he wanted to object but thought better if it. As soon as he had moved out of the way, I kicked the door in a way which wouldn't break it down but would open it. Luckily, it opened on the first try. Both Bakugo and I rushed in and were met with a horrific sight.
It was very clear that Midoriya was having a nightmare. The screaming. The tossing and turning. The thrashing. What was disturbing about watching Midoriya have a nightmare was that he kept transforming in his sleep into what I can only assume he was having nightmares about. He also had his eyes open, which was odd. Bakugo and I were frozen in shock as Midoriya screamed and transformed. First, he looked like himself. Then he looked liked Aizawa but covered in stab wounds and hand marks around his neck. Then he looked like Present Mic who was in the same condition as Aizawa. Then he was Midnight, huge holes in the centre of his hands and his body covered in burns. Then he was the Hero, Ms Joke, rope marks around his neck as well as a deep cut along his main artery. It somehow got worse after that. Midoriya rapidly transformed into every person in our class. But... none of us had eyes. Every single person who he transformed into had empty eyes sockets. I wanted to vomit. I wanted to comfort him, and I'm sure Bakugo wanted to as well, but I was frozen in shock and fear. Throughout these multiple transformations, he was screaming out for people. Dad. Papa. Mum. Kacchan. Nemuri. Emi. Kyoka. He cycled through those 7 people as he cried in his sleep. Hearing his nickname must have jolted Bakugo from his shock because he rushed forward and pulled Midoriya into a tight hug. He repeatedly kept calling Midoriya's name but it didn't help. The final transformation that Midoriya did was into a decaying woman's body. The woman looked very skinny as if she was denied food. She had long green hair and big viridian eyes like Midoriya. But the woman's eyes were blank and glassy. They stared at me blankly, yet tears welled out of them and fell onto hollow cheeks constantly. The woman's skin was tinted green and I think she was missing her left ear. That was all I could see of the woman, Bakugo must have felt Midoriya transform but he never let him go. If anything he held onto Midoriya tighter. "Izuku! I'm here! Please calm down! We're here! Izuku!" Bakugo cried. I never thought Bakug was capable of sounding so desperate, but seeing the condition Midoriya was in, it made sense why he sounded so desperate. Midoriya sat bolt upright in his bed, his appearance returning to how it usually was, except how sweaty he looked. I was scared.
Midoriya asked what happened and Bakugo explained that Midoriya was having a nightmare before Aizawa came bursting into the room. He looked frantic. It was clear that he had previously been sleeping by how tangled his hair was. Aizawa made a beeline for Midoriya, replacing Bakugo's arms with his own. I decided that it was would be best if I left the room and gave them some privacy. Bakugo left alongside me, he looked deeply troubled. I was turning to enter my room when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around and saw Bakugo looking at me. His gaze held none of its usual malice and resentment, just sadness and fear. "Thank you. For kicking in the door I mean. I was too panicked to think about doing that." he admitted, I nodded my head. "It was just an impulse." I muttered before entering my room laying on my bed, knowing I most likely wouldn't be able to sleep any more that night.
*Shota's POV*
When I was woken up by pounding on my door at 3 o'clock in the morning, it would be an understatement to say that I was pissed. As soon I opened the door and glared at Kirishima, I knew that something was wrong. Kirishima looked scared out of his mind and his hair hung limply around his shoulders which told me he had just got out of bed. "Mr Aizawa! Midoriya is screaming in his room, having a really bad nightmare." Kirishima gasped. He seemed out of breath. I didn't respond, just sprinted up the stairs towards the fourth floor. I was on the second floor when I began to hear my son's voice. It was faint but I knew if I could hear it from 2 floors down that he was having a really bad nightmare. I made it to the third floor when he started screaming out for me, Hizashi, his mum, Emi, Nemuri, Katsuki and Kyoka. Those who he saw as family. A few heads were sticking out of their rooms, awoken by the noise. I didn't stop to say anything to them, I just kept running.
When I made it to the fourth floor, three of the boys were crowded around Izuku's door. The door itself had been kicked in, probably most likely the work of either Todoroki or Katsuki. Both boys were in Izuku's room, looking scared. When they saw me enter they left and allowed me to comfort the boy in private.
Izuku sobbed into my shoulder as I rubbed his back to soothe him. I had no idea what his nightmare was about but from the petrified look on all of the other boys' faces, he was transforming into his nightmares again. I waited until he had cried himself to sleep until letting him go. I didn't want to leave him alone after a nightmare which had clearly traumatized both Izuku and his hallmates. I settled into his desk chair and laid my head on his desk. I blushed slightly as I stared at the mural he had painted on his wall. He had made me look a lot more powerful and dauntless than I actually was. I drifted off to sleep in a very uncomfortable position, but I was used to it.
So, not the happiest of chapters. Very angsty. But... THIS STORY HAS 100K READS! Thank you so much for this. I never expected this to happen. When I first published this book I didn't expect it to do well at all. I could have never imagined this happening and I would just like to thank every single one of you. This book hasn't even been around for that long. It's been roughly 3 months. To get 100k reads in 3 months is amazing to me. I don't know how many times I'm going to say thank you, but this wouldn't be possible if all of you hadn't taken an interest in my story.
Anyway, thank you for reading this chapter. Sorry, it's sad but it had to be done. I hope you have a wonderful day wherever you are.
