set in the 1930s-40s

a small, top secret "back-office" group working out of the cdn pmo under william lyon mackenzie king, researching/ & investigating occult phenomena

very low-budget operation:  not much money, not many ppl, many/most (at least half of the ppl involved?) of them don't really believe it themselves; not much credibility or respect

very fringe-y & top secret; not just for the intelligence, but for political reasons of credibility

they end up going against heinrich himmler's ss - occult section, seeking the same things

i.e.:   knowledge & power

midway thru the (1st?) story, the cdn group/pll find out "(some of?) this shit is real"

(a lovely moment to play with, in the drama ^__^!)

& the contest becomes serious...
