Kitt
Title of Fanfic:Adrift [One Piece]
Name: Kitt
Age: 19
Birthday: May 15
Blood Type: O
Height: 6'00"
Weight: 163 lb
Crew: Wraith Pirates
Role: First Mate/Chef
Epithet: Kitt "The Silent Scourge"
Bounty: 65, 000, 000
Hair: Chin-length, straight black hair, platinum-blonde tips
Eyes: Slate-gray, wide, oft described as "innocent"
Appearance: Kitt, somewhat proudly, commands much more of a presence than his captain, a trait he's been warned about on several occasions but has taken no measures to conceal. With his babyish features, he's mistaken for someone much younger, at least until he stands at his full height of six-foot. He tends to make his dark hair presentable by pinning it back with a red bandanna, as he cares for personal appearance about as much as his captain (something Zeo is frequently irritated by, mostly due to health concerns), and dons a crimson, button-up shirt (with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows) over a a black-striped white tank and dark-wash jeans, as well as tightly laced brown leather boots. He bears four piercings in his left ear, three of which are light silver circlets (one for each crew member, with a promise that he'll add more with each new addition), and a final stud in the shell of his ear that he wears in memory of his mother.
Personality: Easily the most outgoing of the Wraith Pirates, Kitt enjoys the company of others, and frequently seeks out crowded places where he doesn't feel the weight of loneliness or the chill of silence. While he's unable to communicate verbally, he can usually get his point across through simple hand gestures or brief bouts of charades, as he knows most people aren't versed in sign language like his crew is. Cat's called him "flashy" several times, knowing that Kitt likes to be the center of attention when the notoriety won't get him killed (and sometimes even with the risk hanging over his head). Overall, though, Kitt just likes people, and he likes when people like him. To that end, he's a charming individual the majority of the time.
Preferred Method of Fighting: Unlike Cat, Kitt has a fondness for the sleek, silver pistol he carries with him in the belt around his waist. He dislikes direct combat, and uses his gun to keep his distance when possible. If his hand is forced, however, he'll make use of his Devil Fruit abilities.
Devil Fruit: [I guess it'd be an unnamed Devil Fruit, like Marco's, since I have no idea what you'd call this. But it's modeled after Cerberus, the three-headed guardian dog of the Underworld, making it a mythical Zoan type... if that doesn't seem overpowered, at least]
Short History: Kitt doesn't remember where he was born, exactly; his earliest memories are of the sea, cradled in his mother's arms as they peeked out through a ship's irritatingly small portholes. She'd come from the North Blue (so he was told, in any case); a raid had been made on her home island, her husband was killed in the crossfire, and she was taken aboard the slavers' ship, only to find out several months later that she was pregnant. Unwilling to give up the child, she carried him for nine months, managing to hide his existence from the slavers (who undoubtedly would have never have let the pregnancy go on if they'd been informed of it) with the help of several other slaves-to-be. By the time Kitt was born, the prisoners were up for auction; both he and his mother were sold off to a royal family on the Grand Line.
Kitt was raised as a slave in the palace, learning to clean and follow orders before he'd even learned the alphabet or how to count to ten. And he continued like that for fourteen years, working beside his mother and the other servants, until it was discovered that a servant had stolen the royal family's prized jewel.
Kitt's mother was suspected of the crime, and so Kitt became a hostage; but when his mother insisted she'd had nothing to do with the theft, the king ordered a punishment on Kitt: that his tongue would be cut out so that he might never speak lies like his mother.
After this, once Kitt had somewhat recovered from the trauma, his mother - distraught and desperate - fought to smuggle him out of the palace with the help of a sympathetic guard. He was loaded onto a supply ship heading out to a distant, allied island by the guard, and that was the last time he saw his mother, though he knew enough to guess she'd been killed for act of insubordination.
For three years, he tried to forget what had happened to him, milling around on a small, indiscriminate island, working as a delivery boy for the local mail service - where he met Cat.
It was Cat who convinced him to learn sign language, offering to learn it alongside him from a book she'd discovered in the island's library.
He picked up his Devil Fruit not long into his journey with Cat, though before they met Zeo. He'd known what it was (or Cat had, anyway) when they found it in a decrepit chest he dredged up from the sea, and chose to east it, thinking whatever power it gave him might help him protect Cat and himself.
Dreams: He'd like a definitive answer as to what happened to his mother, but other than that, he's content to simply follow Cat's orders.
Miscellaneous
Likes: Crowded places, noisy atmospheres, good wine (he claims it gets him drunk faster, though he can't speak for the taste), Cat and Zeo
Dislikes: Aristocracy
Other: He's not really on board with the whole pet idea Cat has, but he doesn't question it.
Character Song: Rise [Skillet]
