What Do You Know About Love?
(Rachael's Playlist 2/?)
(Yes, this is from Frozen on Broadway and yes, I wrote this like a musical-ish. Don't judge me)
"You slept with Harry! He's almost a complete stranger to you! Especially since he just moved back here from boarding school two days ago!" Peter huffs, annoyed as the hop across the roof tops. They may despise each other, but for now are working together in hopes of later becoming Avengers.
Rachael shrugged. "I really like him more than I've ever like anyone else. I think it's love. True love."
"You're insane, Harry is not your true love! He's a stranger!" Peter says getting more agitated by the moments.
"Harry is not a stranger." Rachael says jumping down onto the next rooftop.
"Okay. So what's his last name?" Peter asks, hopping down beside her.
"...The heir of Oscorp Industry..." Rachael says unsure, but stubbornly.
"That's not a last name." Peter rolls his eyes.
"You've got opinions on my life and my relations, but let me tell you what." Rachael huffs, putting her hands on her hips.
"Okay. Enlighten me." Peter says.
"Love is the one thing that has zero complications and I can trust my gut." Rachael says confidently.
"Okay. You frighten me." Peter says in disbelief.
"Some people know their hearts the minute true love starts." Rachael shrugs.
"Some people read a lot of books." Peter says finding her argument ridiculous.
"I like books." Rachael huffs. "Some people simply know when true love says hello."
"Some people are taken in by curly locks and princely looks." Peter scoffs as he hops up the window sills to get up to the next roof.
"He does have princely looks, we agree on that one." Rachael smiles lovingly.
"Right. Oh, by the way what color eyes does he have?" Peter asks, knowing the answer since Harry has been his best friend for years.
"...Dreamy!" Rachael replies stubbornly, as she reaches the next rooftop.
"All I'm saying is when you go to climb a building you don't just jump to the top." Peter says pulling her up.
"If it's true love, you can." Rachael remarks.
"There's scalin' and scramblin' and too many steps for countin' and the work doesn't stop." Peter explains.
"Maybe for you." Rachael scoffs.
"Loves not an easy climb, you have to take your time." Peter advises.
"We get a whole, life that's the plan." Rachael says heading towards the next building.
"That's not a plan!" Peter shouts. "Love's not a thing you get, it's work and tears and sweat."
"So says, a sweaty, smell, Spider-Boy." Rachael rolls her eyes.
"Oh, what do you know about love? What do you know about love?" They both say. Peter got to the edge of the building walking up the next one, as Rachael climbed it expertly.
"What do you know about love? What do you know about love?" They both scoffed.
"Have you even kissed a girl?" Rachael asks.
"Yes!" Peter shouts offended.
"I meant a human girl!" Rachael clarifies, as they come to a long gap in between buildings, with only a small dangling lamppost in between it.
"Oh." Peter sighs.
"What do you know about anything? Anything?" They both say completely annoyed with each other, which was normal for them.
"Anyone with half a brain would've worn some protective gear." Peter says, jumping onto the post.
"Anyone with half a life would have one friend who's not a mirror!" Rachael quips, jumping beside him.
"I do!" Peter shouts embarrassed, starting to lose his balance on the pole. "Any fool who jumps headlong is got bang their head."
"Any fool who doesn't jump right now is probably gonna end up dead!" Rachael says jumping onto the next building.
"Whoaaaaa!" Peter attempted to do the same but missed, Rachael quickly leaned over the side grabbing his hand so he doesn't fall.
"Like I said...You okay there?" Rachael asks.
"I've been better." Peter responds, trying to figure out how to get back up.
"Don't worry, I've got you. Ugh, you should have listened to me. I know danger when I see it. Just like I know love when I see it." Rachael says leaning over the edge trying to pull him up, but his weight pulls her over the edge. She fell beside him releasing his hand, he grabbed onto the a window ledge and then her waist before she could fall too far. "Whoa!"
"Woah! Woah! Woah! Thank you..." Peter says sarcastically.
"Ah. That's not quite how I thought we'd end up." Rachael admits.
"You've got to think things through in life and in love." Peter says.
"Touché." Rachael nods.
"Here. Grab on and brace yourself." Peter says helping her wrap her arms around his back. "Ready here we go."
"Whoa! Whoaa! Whoaaa!" Rachael yelps as Peter pulls them up to the top of the roof in one swift movement. She sat down on the roof edge, he did the same catching his breath. "I'd like to point out that we've come a good long way here and that you're...wow, really strong."
"I lift a lot of buildings." Peter shrugs. "You saved my life just now and I guess I gotta say here, my first impression was wrong."
"And see? You're nice." Rachael says.
"That jump was really brave." Peter compliments.
"Your catch was quite a save." Rachael says trying to be kind.
"You've got some guts." Peter adds.
"You've got some...brains." Rachael says, she really was trying her best.
"Thanks." Peter chuckled at her attempt.
"With miles and miles to go. I guess it's nice to know that I can trust you, though the question still remains. What do you know about love?" They both say looking at each other.
"Just be careful." Peter sighs.
"What do you know about love?" They both ask gently.
"Have a little faith." Rachael smiles, brushing a piece of hair from her face.
"At least we know one thing this trip should be interesting." They both say respecting each other just a tiny bit more. "What do you know about love? What do you know about love?" They sat their taking a short break from their adventure and observing each other in a new light.
