Too Tired To Move
"You know you talk in your sleep." Peter smiles at her. Watching the mid morning sun, peering in from the window, glisten across her skin. He laid on the other side of the bed from her, watching as she slowly brought herself to consciousness.
"Did I say anything bad?" Rachael asks a bit tiredly from their eventful night.
"Just that you love me and that you miss your mom... so nothing new really." Peter laughs slightly, brushing a piece of hair from her face.
Rachael smiled, kissing the tip of his nose. "At least I was telling the truth."
"You always are more honest in dreams." Peter laughs, smiling so brightly it reached his eyes.
"Hey! You act like I've never told you I love you before." Rachael says, playfully.
"I'm sorry because you're right you've managed to tell me you love me twenty seven times in the last three days." Peter says.
"You counted?" Rachael inquires, her smile widening.
"Yeah, after everything that's happened in the last week it's been the only thing keeping me going." Peter smiles.
"Aw, that's so sweet. You really are just a big teddy bear, huh, Petey?" Rachael giggles.
Peter crinkled his nose at the nickname, a crooked smile spreading across his face. "Petey?"
"Yeah, Petey. What don't you like it? I've called you it before." Rachael smiles at him playing with one of his stray curls.
"No, no, I love it." Peter smiles playfully, kissing her nose again. "I think it's adorable and endearing."
"For you or for me?" She laughs.
"Yes." Peter nods, giggling.
"You're too much, Peter Parker." Rachael smiles, turning on her back, to look up at her ceiling.
"Well I am a Leo." Peter says, watching her profile affectionately.
"When did you become more of an astrology whore than I am?" She teased, tilting her head to look at him slightly.
"I don't know five years ago maybe?" Peter chuckles a bit.
"Ugh, I'm so tired of blip jokes..." Rachael groans.
"Well we have to start making them now, since it's only recently that everyone's gotten over it." He says.
"It's been eight months! If you weren't over it within the first three, you've got more problems then what the blip caused." Rachael huffs.
"Yeah, well not everyone's as strong as you are." Peter says, watching her profile carefully.
She just stayed silent seeming to want to say something, but restraining herself. After a moment of silence she finally spoke. "Peter... Can I ask... Why? Why you chose now, to get back together with me? To... well you know... with me?"
Peter seemed to freeze as she turned to look at him, his cheeks turning a light pink shade. "I- I don't know... Everything just finally feels like the right time..."
"Oh, so 2016 wasn't the right time, but 2023 has just the perfect aesthetic to lose your virginity to?" Rachael teases, turning to look at him.
"That is not what I said at all!" Peter gasps, playfully smacking her arm. "I just meant I don't think either of us were ready to be with each other back then. I mean it all happened so quickly I think we probably should have waited. It just wasn't our time, but now there is nothing standing in our way."
"Yeah... Not even my father can stop us now." Rachael smirks, watching a hint of sadness flash across his face, quickly being suppressed by the heat that flushed to his cheeks when he realized what she was implying.
"What would he feel the need to stop?" Peter asks, playing dumb.
"This I'd assume..." Rachael mumbles, pulling him in for a kiss, trailing them down his neck, before straddling his waist the covers falling down leaving her chest bare.
"Yeah, I can see how this would be-" Peter pants, cutting himself off by kissing down her chest. "-unwelcome..."
She forcefully stuck her tongue in his mouth, pushing him back down against her light pink pillows. He flipped her over, taking a fist full of her hair for some extra pizzazz.
Before they could get any farther, the bedroom door flew open.
The teens both immediately jumped off of each other and sat up, Rachael using the sheets to shield her chest. "Morgan Haely Stark! I thought I told you to knock!"
Morgan almost immediately pulled the door closed laughing as she ran away.
"You're such a little hobgoblin! I'm going beat your ass when I get out there!" Rachael yelled as she heard Morgan's foot steps retreat down the hallway.
"Morgan! Stop bothering your sister and eat your cereal before it gets soggy!" Pepper shouted you the stairs.
Rachael collapses back into her bed with a sigh. "That was close..."
Peter laughed, laying down beside her. "You think she'll tattle?"
"Oh, I know she'll tattle." Rachael laughs slightly.
"Damn, we can't have one night, huh?" Peter smiles.
"Nope." Rachael sighs, getting out of her bed and heading over to her dresser. "You should get going before Pepper decides to investigate."
"I mean, we're in trouble either way." Peter says, getting up, starting to locate his clothes on the floor and putting them on.
Rachael changed into some comfy clothes before opening her window for his departure. "I'll see you later?"
"Absolutely. I'll text you." Peter smiles, kissing her on the cheek.
"You better." Rachael smirks, helping him out her window and closing it behind him, before heading downstairs for breakfast. "Now, where is the little banshee who ruined my beauty sleep!"
