Meant to Be Yours
Rachael's Playlist (4/?) part 1
"That's it Harry! I'm done with this bullshit! You can't tell the difference between right or wrong anymore. I thought I could teach you that...turns out that was the biggest fantasy I could conjure up in my wild imagination..." Rachael cries turning away from the taller boy. "You promised me the whole murderous Robin Hood thing was over...and then you went and-and you went and did it again!"
"Rachael, princess, the love of my life, come on you can't be serious. I'm doing this for you. All I want is for you and the world to be able to live and thrive in peace. In a world where every person who's an asshole, rapist, misogynist, homophobe, pedophile, and many other just as horrible things are all dead. Now doesn't that sound like heaven on Earth." Harry says darkly, putting his hand out for her to take. He assumed she'd just take it and this little fight over nothing would all be over.
"In theory, but in actuality the way that would come about is hell." Rachael says glancing at his hand wanting to take it, but she fought herself. Instead starting to walk away from him, before breaking into a sprint.
"You'll be back! They always come back..." Harry chuckles sinisterly, this what the Goblin Formula has done to him. It's reduced him to an insane stalker of his beloved. And that can only end one way. Death.
—
Rachael had been on edge since earlier when she told Harry off and the feelings of worry and nauseas only seemed to be growing worse as the day went on. Only when she started to reach the max of her emotional levels did she decide that this was a bad vibe. One of the worst ones she'd had since Gwen died.
She didn't think much of it until Friday was deactivated in the middle of their conversation, followed by the loud crash of glass breaking, shards of glass scattered around the room and cutting the surface of her skin. When the metaphorical dust cleared the figure of none other than Harry Osborn was floating on one of his father's old Goblin Gliders, holding a gun.
"Knock! Knock! Sorry for coming in through the window. Dreadful etiquette, I know!" Harry chuckles darkly, pointing the gun at her.
"Harry please listen to me! This is just another episode! We can get through this together, I promise! Just put the gun away." Rachael says shakily fearing for her life along with everyone else's. She took slow steps backwards, bumping into the wall next to the door to her bathroom.
"This isn't an episode. This is a revelation!" Harry says jumping off the glider and clicking the safety off on his gun.
Rachael looked around for a place to hide, finding the closest place to be the bathroom. She slowly reached for the door handle, pulling it open quickly and throwing herself inside it, locking the door behind her. "If you won't listen to reason, get out of my house!"
"Hiding in the bathroom!? Come on..." Harry says in almost a whine, as he walked towards the bathroom door.
"Go or I'll scream and father will come." Rachael says leaning up against the door to make sure it's wasn't going to budge.
"All is forgiven baby! Come on dressed you're my date to the dance tonight!" Harry chuckles walking towards the door. "You chucked me out like I was trash for that you should be dead- But! But! But!"
He was using threats and repetition to try to control her, revealing crystal clearly how unstable he actually is. "Then it hit me like a flash what if high school went away instead? Those assholes are the key! They're keeping you away from me! They made you blind, messed up your mind! But I can set you free!"
He tried to turn the door job finding it locked which on fueled his fury. "You left me and I fell apart. I punched the wall and cried- Bam! Bam! Bam!" Harry yells and punches the door three times furiously in attempt to guilt her into coming out and letting him take control again.
Rachael jumped away from the door terrified looking around for a way to save herself, her eyes landing on the window. "Then I found you changed my heart and set loose all that truthful shit inside! And so I built a bomb tonight our school is Vietnam! Let's guarantee they'll never see their junior prom!" Harry says darkly trying to get the door open.
He softened up seeing that the loud angry tone wasn't working, another manipulation tactic. "I was meant to be yours! We were meant to be one. Don't give up on me now. Finish what we've begun. I was meant to be yours!- So when the high school gym goes boom with everyone inside- Pkhw! Pkhw! Pkhw!" Harry quickly changed his tone from soft and caring to rough and unstable. He has been faking empathy this whole time and only now is he finally loosing his grip on his sanity.
He pulled a note out of his trench coat pocket, the crinkling noise the paper makes from his jagged movements cuts through the air sharply."In the rubble of their tomb, we'll plant this note explaining why they died! 'We the students of Westerburg High will die. Our burnt bodies will finally get through to you. Your society churns out slaves and blanks. No thanks, signed the students of Midtown High. Goodbye.'!" Harry says his voice bouncing around unstably. "We'll watch the smoke pour out the doors bring marshmallows we'll make s'mores! We can smile and cuddle while the fire roars!"
Rachael climbed onto the sink counter and opened the bathroom window. "I was meant to be yours! We were meant to be one. I can't make it alone! Finish what we've begun! You were meant to be mine! I am all that you need! You carved open my heart! Can't just leave me to bleed!" Harry shouted starting to get louder and louder. "Rachael! Open the-open the door please! Rachael, open the door. Rachael, can we not fight anymore please, can we not fight anymore. Rachael, sure, you're scared I've been there. I can set you free! Rachael, don't make me come in there! I'm gonna count to three! One! Two! Fuck it!"
Harry used his gun to shoot the door lock and kicked it open. The door slammed into the wall leaving a large dent in the wall. Rachael jumped out her window as soon as he got in, ignoring his calls to her. He ran to the window watching her hit the ground, rolling harshly to a stop. "Oh my God...No! Rachael! Please don't leave me alone. You were all I could trust. I can't do this alone..." He watching her from the window for a few minutes as her body just lays unmoving, before turning to leave. "Still I will if I must!"
Harry put his gun away and hopped back onto his father's glider heading towards the school. As soon as Rachael heard his cackle fade off into the distance she got up, brushing herself off and stretching a bit. "Thank God, we don't live in the tower any more..." She mumbles to herself, as she pulled off her gloves letting them fall onto the ground. Vision gave her a concerned look from the living room window she just waved and started to run to the school. This was it. This was the end.
