(So listen I added the song Spidey Bells with the picture and I really encourage you to listen to it. It has nothing to do with this chapter I just think it's funny ^^^^)
Bad Luck pt. 2
"If I don't- They'll kill my son." Felicia says, turning to look back at him. Before Peter could even process the mental bomb she had just dropped on him, she pulled a small smoke bomb out of her boot throwing it at him and disappearing in the smoke.
"Wait! Your son!" Peter coughed, trying to chase after her, but finding her gone when he finally escaped the never ending white smoke. "Damn it! Felicia has a son?! Can't be...I mean it could be. And I could be- No, no, no. Not gonna think about that right now."
—
"Hey, So I hate to call you in the middle of the night, but I've got a lot going on right now and some help and a friendly voice would do me wonders right now." Peter says into his phone, his current confusion and worry clear in his voice.
"Pete...It's three in the morning..." Rachael says quietly, trying not to wake up Rogue who was still her roommate for a few more weeks until she is going to be forced to move out. "What do you need?"
"It's a long story I'll explain everything later, but for right now can you check for any news on Black Cat's current location. I think she's going to commit another crime tonight, but I don't know where." Peter says.
"She's already committed one tonight? Gosh, and I thought I was extra." Rachael mumbles tiredly, quiet shuffling could be heard through the phone as she got out her laptop. "You're gonna owe me one hell of a favor after this, tiger."
"I know, I know believe me. After all the help you've given me over the last three months alone is worth more than my life." Peter says.
"I'm sure it is if you add it all up." Rachael sighs, there were a few moments of silence before she spoke again. "I found an emergency call about a Maggia hit that just went out three minutes ago that fits the description of Black Cat's style and level of crime, sending you the location now."
"Thanks. I owe you big time. And if I catch Felicia because of this I will literally kiss you." Peter says.
"Felicia, huh?" Rachael asks, unfazed by the rest of his sentence. "You two are on a first name bases?"
"Yeah, like I said it's a long story." Peter sighs. "Well, I gotta go fight crime and you've gotta go to bed so I'm gonna go. But thank you. Really. Thank you."
"Your welcome, Peter."
—
"I'm having a hard time focusing. I mean...I can't be a dad. I mean I can be a dad, but...ugh. I need to tell Rachael. She'll know what to do. She always knows what to do. And even when she doesn't she still gives one hell of a great pep talk. But how am I going to tell her? She'll flip. I mean it's not like we're a thing. Can she get upset about this if we're not together? And we haven't been for years, but- You know what we're not thinking about any of this tonight." Peter sighs, as he swings through the city to the location she sent him.
He found her there with flash drive in hand, this time a different one. She tucked it into her boot nicely before looking up at him when he landed.
"Felicia. We need to talk." Peter says.
"Aw, I have missed out little chats, but I've gotta run." She says, running towards the edge of the roof and jumping onto the one below, it running across that one as well.
"Come on! If they've got your son, you can't do this alone. Let me help!" Peter says, chasing after her.
"Why not? I've done everything else alone!" Felicia responds.
"I'm saying you don't have to!" Peter sighs. "Why won't you trust me? We've worked together before!"
"Answered your own question, didn't you?" Felicia retorts.
"Why didn't you come to me with this?" Peter asks.
"Because it's not your problem! It's mine and I'll handle it. " Felicia huffs.
"Maybe, I don't think it's a problem! Wait...unless you meant the working for a gang thing 'cause that's definitely a problem," Peter says, chasing her down into the streets of New York.
"Stay away. I'm better off on my own." Felicia says, turning around and flipping him onto the ground.
"I can help you get rid of them!" Peter grunts as his back his the pavement.
"How? No killing, no breaking the law. Your way won't get it done!" Felicia sighs.
"Felicia...I just need to know. Your son...is he?" Peter asks anxiously.
"He's mine and I'll take care of him." Felicia sighs, walking away from him. He webbed her wrist pulling her back as he sat up. "Stubborn little, spider!"
"I just want to talk." Peter says, standing up.
"Well, I guess I gotta play harder to get." Felicia sighs, pulling the webbing off of her wrist and sprinting off again.
"Stop running!" Peter huffs, growing agitated.
"Stop chasing me!" Felicia grunts, gaining distance. He started to web her feet to the ground. "Why are you doing that?"
"I'm trying to slow you down." Peter says, frustrated, finally getting a web on her ankle right when she was about to jump pulling her feet back on to the ground. He pinned her up against the wall. "Now can we talk like human beings?"
"This feels pretty human to me." Felicia says, smiling at their proximity to each other.
"I figured out what's in those drives you're stealing. The money of all the Maggia families in the city. But once they get what they want, your son will just be a loose end. Let me help you." Peter sighs.
"What are you thinking?" Felicia asks pushing him off of her a bit.
"Stall them. Give us some time to find your son." Peter says.
Felicia strokes his cheek gently. "I missed you. Glad we're back together again."
"Not like that." Peter says, assertively.
"Shame..." Felicia sighs. "Okay, we can get a few days max."
"So, about your son...is there any chance I'm-?" Peter asks, nervousness seeping through his tough facade.
"Later." Felicia sighs, putting a finger over the general area of his mask where his lips were hidden. "For now let's find him. And when he's safe then we can talk about that. Keep in touch, spider."
She pushed past him and jumped up onto a roof and disappearing.
"Ugh...Rachael's gonna kill me..." Peter sighs.
